Even though the movies are currently streaming on HBO Max, from time to time you can also watch them on NBCUniversals streaming service Peacock. Because of a deal that dates back to 2016 , NBCUniversal has the TV and digital rights to the films until 2025. The movies arent available on Peacock right now, but that explains why sometimes youll be able to find them there before theyre officially housed on the WarnerMedia service in a few years.

Below I will set out the viewing order for all the movies, ensuring you know exactly what films to watch and in what order to watch them! This post will cover all of the films within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so expect details on the Fantastic Beasts movies too.
Right, enough chatter schools out, lest start with the first lesson.
Originally published as a series of seven fantasy novels by author, J. K. Rowling, the Harry Potter books were first adapted for the big screen in 2001. The initial entry was Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone which introduced cinemagoers to Harry, his best friends Ron and Hermione, and the school they attend Hogwarts, a school for witchcraft and wizardry.
That opening entry was a huge hit with audiences and was quickly followed in 2002 with the first sequel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Once again, the movie was a hit and the third entry arrived in 2004.
Further films were produced, each adapting the next book in the series as one feature-length story. That was until Warner Bros. Pictures reached the final book in the series.

Netflix uses geoblocking software to keep you from viewing content thats not available in your region. It uses your IP address to determine your location, and then shows you the corresponding Netflix library.
The best way to watch Harry Potter in December 2021 is to convince Netflix that youre in Australia. You can do this by connecting to a server there with a Australian IP address and thats where a VPN comes in.
That said, not every VPN can give you access to Netflix and even those that are capable of this cant necessarily access the Harry Potter movies. Even our cybersecurity experts arent sure exactly why this is, but its a problem you should be prepared for!

Design And Special Effects
Judianna Makovsky served as the costume designer. She re-designed the Quidditch robes, having initially planned to use those shown on the cover of the American book, but deemed them “a mess.” Instead, she dressed the Quidditch players in “preppie sweaters, 19th-century fencing breeches and arm guards.” Production designer Stuart Craig built the sets at Leavesden Studios, including Hogwarts Great Hall, basing it on many English cathedrals. Although originally asked to use an existing old street to film the Diagon Alley scenes, Craig decided to build his own set, comprising Tudor, Georgian and Queen Anne architecture.
Columbus originally planned to use both animatronics and CGI animation to create the magical creatures, including Fluffy. Nick Dudman, who worked on Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, was given the task of creating the needed prosthetics, with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop providing creature effects. John Coppinger stated that the magical creatures that needed to be created had to be designed multiple times. The film features nearly 600 special effects shots, involving numerous companies. Industrial Light & Magic created Lord Voldemort‘s face on the back of Quirrell, Rhythm & Hues animated Norbert and Sony Pictures Imageworks produced the Quidditch scenes.

Are Harry Potter Movies Available On Hbo Max Or Peacock
Luckily, HBO Max and Peacock platforms now offer all Harry Potter movies . WarnerMedia owns the Harry Potter film series. The broadcast and cable rights were sold to NBCUniversal, which owns Peacock. In 2025, when NBC Universals TV rights expire, nobody knows what will happen.
WarnerMedia, on the other hand, borrowed them back, most likely for a significant cost to establish its streaming service with them. Harry Potter movies then returned to Peacock, streamed on and off until 2021.
