The following is a list of magical objects used in the fictional universe of Harry Potter in the original book series, as well as in the adapted film series.

The Quill Of Acceptance

According to Pottermore, the Quill of Acceptance is a magical object which detects the birth of a child with magical capabilities. It is located in Hogwarts School, where it records the children’s names in a large book. Professor McGonagall consults the book and sends out the subsequent Hogwarts acceptance letters by owl once the child turns eleven. It has been made very popular due to its use in registering users for the closed beta of Pottermore.

On The Hogwarts Express

Harry snuck into Dracos compartment just in time to hear the Slytherin smugly implying that he may not be returning to Hogwarts the following year.

What do you mean, you might not be at Hogwarts next year? said Pansy indignantly, ceasing grooming Malfoy at once.Well, you never know, said Malfoy with the ghost of a smirk. I might have er moved on to bigger and better things.Crouched in the luggage rack under his Cloak, Harrys heart began to race. What would Ron and Hermione say about this? Pansy resumed the slow stroking of Malfoys hair, looking dumbfounded.Do you mean Him?

Properties Of The Invisibility Cloak

A lasting characteristic of this capable piece of clothing is the fact that it doesnt wear down over time with age and use.

As the name suggests, it makes anything under the material completely invisible.

This allows the user to sneak around undetected, even a powerful and dark individual.

As you can probably tell, its a useful and sometimes even necessary object when dealing with Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

Invisible material is usually woven out of hair from Demiguises, which is a magical creature that can turn invisible with the properties of its natural coat.

Standard materials can also gain this property through the use of a kind of enchantment.

Normally, Disillusionment Charms and Bedazzling Hexes can disguise someone or something as the surroundings.

However, these effects wear down over time.

In addition to the Cloak of Invisibilitys lasting invisible properties, it has more than normal. It protects the wearer against hexes, jinxes, and various harmful spells that would make normal invisibility cloaks useless.

For example, Thiefs Downfall at Gringotts failed to reveal the wearer.

Unfortunately, it doesnt protect from individually targeted spells.

Any detection methods not dependent on optical sight could actually reveal the user.

While the abilities of this object are quite incredible, where do they come from?

Additionally, the only way to fully understand how Harry received the cloak is to understand where it actually came from.

Origin Of The Invisibility Cloak

It wasnt the main characters immediate family that came into contact with this object.

While possibly not the whole truth, the tale of its origin is retold in The Tale of the Three Brothers in The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Its a popular story among young witches and wizards. It involves three brothers who happen upon a treacherous and deep river that would kill them if they tried to cross.

Using their magic, they conjured a bridge and passed safely.

However, Death wasnt too happy about this.

He appeared before the brothers in the middle of the bridge with a scheme that would bring them to him.

He offered each of them a prize of their choosing for a reward.

Each of the brothers got what they wanted, including the most powerful wand, a stone of resurrection, and of course the invisible cloak.

As legend has it, the material was actually taken from Deaths own shroud.

The brother who received the Elder Wand died that very day from a covetous thief due to his boastfulness.

The brother who received the Resurrection Stone also died not too long after for the longing of his long-lost love.

However, Death could not find the third brother after some time.

It wasnt until this individual became old enough and passed down the Cloak of Invisibility to his firstborn, which continued for generations.

These were the Peverell brothers.

While the story probably has quite a few embellishments, there is still truth to it.

How James Potter Got the Invisibility Cloak – Harry Potter Explained

Avada Kedavra is considered unblockable as seen in the books, not even a strong shield charm like Protego Maxima can protect against its killing power.Harry was known to use Expelliarmus to fight Avada Kedavra to a standstill, anyway although this is mostly because Harry and Voldemorts wands were twinned, and Harrys lack of fear made him stronger than Voldemort during the duel. Against any other wizard, Expelliarmus would fail against the Killing Curse.

Is Harrys Cloak Of Invisibility A Deathly Hallow

The Cloak of Invisibility is a magical item that makes the wearer invisible and is among the legendary Deathly Hallows.

It was the third and last Hallow produced in The Tale of the Three Brothers, allegedly by Death himself.

Legend has it that whoever combines this with the other two Hallows will become the Master of Death.

This was the only known invisibility cloak that would not decline with age and also provide the wearer with eternal immunity, which no other invisibility cloak could.

As a result, it was the only Hallow believed to have been passed down properly down the generations since Ignotus time.

It was passed down to Harry Potter in 1991, who used it to great success in the Second Wizarding War and decided to pass it down to his children.

Three brothers were out traveling the country together, according to The Tales of Beedle the Bard The Tale of the Three Brothers, a wizarding fairytale. They came across a river that was both too deep to wade and too dangerous to swim across.

As a result, the siblings used magic to create a bridge. When Death came and spoke to them, they were in the middle of the bridge. Death enraged that they had outwitted him, gave each brother a prize for outwitting him.

Because the artifact is the only one of the Hallows whose authority can be shared by two or more individuals at the same time, it may also embody a certain spirit of goodness.

Arthur Weasley’s Flying Ford Anglia

Arthur Weasley owned a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E that he subsequently enchanted consequently, the vehicle can fly, become invisible, and carry the entire Weasley family in spite of its formerly non-enchanted interior dimensions , among other abilities. The enchantment placed on the car also made it semi-sentient. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the car is borrowed by Fred, George and Ron, who use it to rescue Harry from the Dursleys’ house. Ron and Harry later steal the car in order to return to Hogwarts after the gate to Platform 9¾ is sealed by Dobby. After they arrive at school, landing in the Whomping Willow, the car ejects Harry, Ron, and their luggage, then flees into the Forbidden Forest, ignoring Ron’s pleas for it to come back. Mr Weasley soon faces an inquiry at the Ministry of Magic, as seven Muggles saw the car flying across areas of Central London and the British countryside, and is forced to pay a large fine.

The 1962 Ford Anglia used in the film was acquired by Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, and is currently displayed in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. A total of 14 Ford Anglias were destroyed during the filming of the scene where the car crashes into the Whomping Willow.
