The Ashwinder eggs are extremely hot and flammable, and, if not frozen, will light fire to the surrounding area. They are bright red and very valuable when frozen. In place of Ashwinder eggs I used frozen cherries.

Since plucking and grinding rose thorns seems rather unpleasant I used white chocolate chips instead.

Peppermint oil extract is easy enough to find but I used peppermint mocha flavored coffee creamer.

Pink iridescent baking dust is used in place of moonstone and mother of pearl.

A sixth year potion, the Elixir to Induce Euphoria is chosen by Harry during Professor Slughorn’s class in an attempt to tempt the latter into revealing the actual story behind young Tom Riddle’s questions about Horcruxes. It’s hue, a warm yellow, indicates an association with bright, sunny days, and is said to create an extremely elevated sense of joy if consumed.

The side-effects of the Elixir to Induce Euphoria apparently includes a predilection towards bursting into song at the most inopportune moments, but they are certainly worth it if the potion does what it claims.

The only real consensus on Voldemorts father is that he was kind of a dick, so people were shocked when he ran off with the homely Merope. But he returned and later clamed that she used some form of deception to seduce him, and that he was taken in. We later find out that Merope died in childbirth and Tom Riddle wants nothing to do with his progeny. Voldemort, the abandoned child forced to grow up in an orphanage, understandably has some negative feelings towards his father. But I propose that the rest of us take a second to really think about the elder Tom Riddles situation.
