On Thursday, July 3rd, Mr. Gault hosted one such question and answer session. The minutes from the meeting were circulated among various personnel at Uninersal Orlando.
While there were several interesting questions, Gaults answer to one particular inquiiry was especially notable.
Question: Has Universal pursued Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter?
Gaults answer: Disney has Harry Potter wrapped up. We will check into Lord of the Rings.
Huh?! Disney has Harry Potter wrapped up?
Can this be true? Is it possible? Of course Disney owns the network television broadcast rights to Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone a deal that allegedly cost Disney around $100 million.
The only time I have heard of a Potter presence at a theme park was in the Movieworld Park in Australia. Of course, Potter is a Warner Brothers property and may show up in one of their parks although I have never heard anything about any attractions planned by Warner.
Of course, I recognize that there are those who may believe Mr. Gault is wrong and that Disney does not have the theme park rights to the Potter franchise. They may believe that the President of Universal Orlando doesnt know what he is talking about.
Regardless of what you may conclude the fact remains, as indicated in the meeting minutes, Mr. Gaults EXACT WORDS were: Disney has Harry Potter wrapped up.

The Potter Halt Wont Prevent Fan Events
These events will continue without the name of Harry Potter. People will still attend these now-generic wizarding festivals, despite the removal of the trademark name. Its likely that Harry Potter fans will come dressed in their favorite memorabilia and enjoy some off-brand Butterbeer in a quiet move of rebellion.
The de-Potterization has not ended the activities, but rather it created thousands of frustrated fans.
The real problem for fans comes from the inability to immerse themselves in the world of the books as they have in the past. People will no longer be able to experience specific things like the Sorting Hat or meet their favorite characters without going to Universal Studios.
Will A Real Hogwarts Ever Be Built
However, it isnt just lack of magical ability, even recreating the physical building of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is nearly impossible, unless you are a millionaire. Recently, an online rental-network, BigRentz, found that building Hogwarts in real life will cost around $174.5 million or Rs.

Disney Has 21st Century Fox Movies And Television Shows On Its Streaming Platform
This studio may be known for its animated classics like Frozen and Princess and the Frog. As the Walt Disney Company grew, it acquired more and more franchises. That includes Pixar, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, Marvel, and 21st Century Fox.
After a deal with Warner Bros, the Harry Potter franchise is owned exclusively by NBCUniversal, as of 2018. This is the same network with the rights to Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, the musical Les Miserables, and Pitch Perfect. NBCUniversal also has the theme park rights to this franchise, opening attractions in Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Studios Japan.

Disney World And Harry Potter
Hello! My husband and I are planning a trip to Orlando in November, neither of us have been before. We’d like to do both Disney World and Harry Potter. I realize these are 2 different parks, and I’m not sure how much time we need to fully enjoy each park. I would have leaned toward more time at Disney World, but I know my husband would have a blast at Universal Studios. We could spend up to 7 days in town.
I’m having a hard time finding good information on what is available at each park because there are so many different places inside each park! We are also without kids, can be pretty flexible, don’t want to rent a car, and want to save some money by not staying onsite at a resort.
So my questions are:
How many days at each park for 2 adults?
Best way to buy discount tickets for the parks?
Hotel recommendation, or an area of hotels for me to check out?
Any good websites to do some research on each park?

Rowling also made an intimate statement about Harry’s personal life: “Because of the demands of the adventure that Harry is following, he has had less sexual experience than boys of his age might have had.” This inexperience with romance was a factor in Harry’s failed relationship with Cho. Now his thoughts concern Ginny, and a vital plot point in the last chapter includes Harry ending their budding romance to protect her from Voldemort.
This book also focuses on the mysterious activities of Harry’s rival Draco Malfoy. Voldemort has coerced a frightened Malfoy into attempting to kill Dumbledore. During a duel in Moaning Myrtle‘s bathroom, Harry uses the Half-Blood Prince’s spell, Sectumsempra, on Malfoy, who suffers near-fatal injuries as a result. Harry is horrified by what he has done and also comes to feel sympathy for Draco, after learning he was forced to do Voldemort’s bidding under the threat of his and his parents’ deaths.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
In the third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Rowling uses a time travel premise. Harry learns that his parents were betrayed to Voldemort by their friend Peter Pettigrew, who framed Harry’s godfather Sirius Black for the crimes, condemning him to Azkaban, the wizard prison. When Sirius escapes to find Harry, Harry and Hermione use a Time Turner to save him and a hippogriff named Buckbeak. When Pettigrew escapes, an innocent Sirius becomes a hunted fugitive once again. Harry learns how to create a Patronus, which takes the form of a stag, the same as his late father’s.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald
Our second adventure in the Fantastic Beasts world sees Johnny Depp move from a fleeting cameo in the first film to a full-blown appearance as dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. Jude Law also stars as Albus Dumbledore. This decidedly gloomy second offering didnt do quite as well as the first, but it did start to explore the complex relationship between the two wizards. We also know Fantastic Beasts 3 is on its way, albeit with some new casting: its now Danish actor Mads Mikkelson who will take on the role of Grindlewald.

Universal Orlando Vs Disney World Resort: Which Is Better
Universal rides are more high-tech, motion-based 3D rides, and thrill rides. There are some amazing attractions like Spiderman, Forbidden Journey, Green Gods, Diagon Alley, and more. They have some incredible dark rides and any Harry Potter fan NEEDS to check out the amazing Wizarding World of Harry Potter at least once!
Disney World, on the other hand, is really about appealing to everyone. Where Universal is really about its thrill rides, Disney has more diversity and is more laid-back. Yes, it does have its share of thrill rides and they have been coming out with some really impressive rides . And now it has Star Wars: Galaxys Edge and exciting attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. That said, much of Disney is still geared towards all-age ranges and families.
So which is better: Universal Orlando Resort or Walt Disney World Resort?
The answer is it depends. It really comes down to personal preference and who you are going with. Teens and thrill-seeking adults will love Universal. Kids, multi-generational families, and kid at heart adult couples will love Disney World.
Our advice would be to check out both parks for yourself. You can experience both resorts on the same trip because they are just miles apart. Three or four days at Disney World and two days at Universal would be ideal, but even if its just one day at Universal will be worth it!
