In December 2005, Rowling stated on her web site, 2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series. Updates then followed in her online diary chronicling the progress of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with the release date of 21 July 2007. The book itself was finished on 11 January 2007 in the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, where she scrawled a message on the back of a bust of Hermes. It read: J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room on 11 January 2007.

Rowling herself has stated that the last chapter of the final book was completed in something like 1990. In June 2006, Rowling, on an appearance on the British talk show Richard & Judy, announced that the chapter had been modified as one character got a reprieve and two others who previously survived the story had in fact been killed. On 28 March 2007, the cover art for the Bloomsbury Adult and Child versions and the Scholastic version were released.

In September 2012, Rowling mentioned in an interview that she might go back to make a directors cut of two of the existing Harry Potter books.

Neville Longbottom had proven himself to be incredibly brave many times before this moment, but this moment showed another side of him, a side that was able to accomplish great things. In the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Neville proved yet again, his worthiness of the title of the Chosen One. When Harry Potter and the rest of Dumbledore’s Army were searching for a place to practice magic at Hogwarts while Umbridge had banned all use, they were struggling. It wasn’t until Neville discovered the Room of Requirement, proving himself as a successful leader.

How Would Neville Have Dealt With Harrys Hogwarts Adventures

Finding the Philosophers Stone… Discovering the mysteries of the Chamber of Secrets… Taking part in the Triwizard Tournament… It’s a lot. And in his younger years, lovely Neville was definitely not the first Hogwarts student that leapt to mind when it came to saving the castle from certain peril, or indeed, dodging Hungarian Horntails. He could barely keep Trevor under control, let alone a giant, scaly dragon.

Neville only truly came into his own when Harry, Ron and Hermione started up Dumbledores Army in their fifth year. And its not likely Harry wouldve started up Dumbledores Army if hed been living a considerably calmer Hogwarts life, not having had to learn extra defensive spells, not having had to grow up far quicker than usual with the looming threat of a Dark wizard on his back. But its possible Umbridge wouldve still been around, and some sort of alliance wouldve still been needed. Maybe Hermione, who we can definitely still see being friends with Neville, wouldve started it up with Neville in tow?

In fact, with all of the challenges Harry faced at Hogwarts and beyond, he had his friends to help him. We can only imagine Neville would’ve got the same support network.

What Did It Mean To Be The Chosen One In Harry Potter

The Chosen One was a title applied to Harry Potter in reference to Professor Trelawneys prophecy about an individual destined to defeat or be defeated by Lord Voldemort. They Respect Each Other

The books and the movies are littered with small examples that show just how highly the two think of each other. Can you find at least even half of those, where Hermione expresses her deep admiration of Ron? We didnt think so. Its really quite obvious that Hermione has more respect for Harry, and Harry admires her just as much more than either of them do with Ron. Again, Ron fans, were not hating, just being honest. On the night that Sirius died, after the battle at the Ministry of Magic at the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore showed Harry, with the aid of his pensieve, the complete Lost Prophecy:

“The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not… and either mustdie at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…”

As Harry comes to the realization that the prophecy is about himself, Dumbledore tells him, and us:

“The odd thing is, Harry,” he said softly, “that it may not have meant you at all. Sibyll’s prophecy could have applied to two wizard boys, both born at the end of July that year, both of whom had parents in the Order of the Phoenix, both sets of parents having narrowly escaped Voldemort three times. One, of course, was you. The other was Neville Longbottom.”

When Harry asks Dumbledore, then could it have meant Neville instead of him, Dumbledore says it could only refer to him, and reminds him of the second half of the prophecy, that Voldemort would mark the boy as his equal.
