Rumors And Official Announcement
In January 2007, About.com reported a rumor from a “highly credible source” that the Lost Continent area within Universal’s Islands of Adventure park was to be re-themed “to the stories and characters of one of the most popular children’s franchises”. Other sources followed up in the next few days with unofficial confirmation the new area would involve Harry Potter, and was being developed under the name “Project Strong Arm” in reference to the KUKA robotic arm technology it would utilise.Nikki Finke reported her own confirmation of the Potter park plans in April, followed shortly by a story in The Scotsman both reports were widely relayed by other media sources. On May 31, 2007, Universal officially announced the 20-acre addition recreating Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade, with a planned opening in 2009.

Bill Davis, Thierry Coup, and stars of the Potter films announce a July 8 opening date for Diagon Alley.
After months of rumor and speculation, we finally have an official Diagon Alley opening date. The new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions at Universal Orlando will formally open to the public on July 8, 2014.
The date is later in the summer than many fans speculated, and those who had booked travel for later this month may be scrambling to change their reservations. Keep in mind that purchasers of special Universal Vacations packages are guaranteed admission to Diagon Alley during the morning starting June 29, and the area should also “soft open” to day guests at some time before the official opening.
I got a peek inside Diagon Alley this morning while interviewing hosts of the Today Show, and the scenic design is just as stunning as the concept art suggests. I’ll have more details on the area and its signature Gringotts bank coaster after the red carpet media events tonight and tomorrow morning. Keep following for the latest updates on Diagon Alley.

The Holiday Feast At Harry Potter World 2022
- The Holiday Feast at Harry Potter World is a two-course meal that serves traditional British Christmas food. This can be found at both the Leaky Cauldron and the Three Broom Sticks.
The Holiday Feast is served platter style and can serve up to four guests. Last year, this platter costed $64.99 and had additional portions starting at $15.99 per person. The first course is a Winter Harvest Salad topped with a mustard ale vinaigrette. The second course is an oven roasted turkey breast drizzled gravy. Also served with a wild mushroom and sage stuffing, root vegetables, brown-butter and walnut Brussels sprouts, potatoes, English sausages, and a cranberry sauce.

Harry Potter Christmas in the Wizarding World is unlike any other with its exclusive castle shows. Lighting up the Hogwarts castle with glistening lights and gentle snowfall, the Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle is a dazzling projection map show played every night once the sun sets. This Universal Harry Potter Christmas light show is captivating as is projects a magically large Christmas tree, twirling Yule Ball dances, snowman building, and the Hogwarts ghosts ringing out Christmas carols.

Yes! There are many different ways the Harry Potter World decorates for the holiday season. Here are just a few:
- Snow Capped Roof Tops Although this feature is year round, it really brings the Christmas feels when its lit by the warm glow of the twinkling Christmas lights.
- Garland Wrapped in Christmas Lights Harry Potter Christmas Lights wrap archways and shop windows, intermixed with beautiful evergreen garland to enhance the overall holiday feel of Hogsmeade. Pay special attention inside the different shops! The garland hanging above the shops have little details that match what is sold inside of the store.
- Hogwarts Castle Christmas Decor Christmas decor wouldnt be complete without cards over the fireplace, a beautiful tree, and Hogwarts house fanfare throughout the garland.
Make sure to explore all of the ride queues and shops to peer inside and take a peek at all of the hidden decor. Harry Potter World at Christmas is such a unique experience. Dont speed through this beautifully charming immersive land.

Universal Orlando Has Announced Opening Date And Details For New Harry Potter Ride
The Orlando theme park will be release more details of the ride in March this year
UNIVERSAL Orlando Resort has revealed details of its hotly anticipated new Harry Potter ride.
Now named Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, the new attraction will be part of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Visitors can find the new ride at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
It will officially open to the public on June 13 this year.
And according to Universal Orlando, it will be the “most highly-themed coaster yet”.
Theme park goers will be given the opportunity to plunge “into the path of some of the wizarding worlds rarest magical creatures”, all while riding on a thrilling roller coaster.
From the teaser image, it appears that the ride will involve individual cars that follow the roller tracks around an enchanted forest.
While the Florida theme park has announced the name and opening date of its new ride today, it’s not expected to reveal more details until March.
For Harry Potter fans, it’s not the only new attraction opening this year.
Warner Bros Studio Tour in London have revealed that their new Harry Potter attraction will be opening on April 6 this year.

Traveling To Orlando Florida

The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Vacation
In a common misconception that has floated around since opening day, many guests believe that both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are their own theme parks, a misunderstanding probably born from the fact that, in Universals initial marketing push back in 2010, it referred to Hogsmeade as a theme park within a theme park. Its since dropped that language, thankfully enough, and you do not need to buy an additional ticket to visit the Wizarding Worlds. However, if you wish to ride the Hogwarts Express between the two lands, you will need to purchase a park-to-park ticket. Fortuitously enough, Universal has installed ticket booths at the entrances to each station, where guests can upgrade their tickets if they happened to overlooked this caveat.

Speculated Layout For Epic Universe Includes Ministry Of Magic
UPDATE July 13 – It is full steam ahead now on Universal’s third gate, Epic Universe and in an interesting aerial view posted by Bioreconstruct we can start to see a proposed layout for the park emerging.
Now, it has been confirmed that Super Nintendo World, Universal Classic Monsters and How to Train Your Dragon are all coming to the park which are included in the proposed layout below.

There has also been a number of rumors recently that there will be a Wizarding World expansion based on the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. Guests would enter the main hall through the Floo network and exit through the fire places using special effects. It is speculated that this land would include an attraction to be located in the Ministry’s atrium which is said to feature the story surrounding the trials of Dolores Umbridge.
Originally a trackless ride was proposed which now seems to have been scrapped. There has been nothing officially confirmed regarding these rumors but it seems like bringing the Ministry of Magic to Epic Universe would make perfect sense due to the popularity of the Wizarding World at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Hogsmeade At Universal’s Islands Of Adventure
The original Wizarding World soft-opened in late May 2010, following a 2007 announcement that Universal has secured the theme park rights to J.K. Rowling’s characters and would be bringing them to the Universal Orlando Resort. Themed to the village of Hogsmeade from the Harry Potter books and films, original Wizarding World land was designed by Universal Creative in consultation with author J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter film production designer Stuart Craig. It includes one new attraction, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, as well as two rethemed rides and multiple shops and restaurants.

Universal Studios Opens The Harry Potter Wizarding World
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been open to Muggles in Orlando since June 2010. After two years of construction and building excitement, the attraction was finally revealed within the larger Islands of Adventure in the Universal Studios Orlando.
Harry Potter fans will be thrilled by the three exciting rides at the theme park: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff. Six new Potter-based stores include items from the Weasley twins mischievous magic and every flavor of beans. You can even enjoy a unique dining experience at Three Broomsticks and raise a Butter Beer to Harry and the gang.
Simply walking into the Wizarding World is an experience in itself. The world of Harry Potter has been so amazingly recreated that you may even forget youre in a theme park, and not actually transported to Hogsmeade and Hogwarts Castle. Talk about magic!

Today, Universal Orlando Resort announced that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley will officially open on July 8 allowing guests to experience even more of Harry Potter’s adventures in an all-new, magnificently-themed environment.
Located in the Universal Studios Florida theme park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley will feature shops, dining experiences and the next generation thrill ride, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. The new immersive area will double the size of the sweeping land already found at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, expanding the spectacularly themed environment across both Universal theme parks.
Guests will enjoy new experiences and places found in and around London in the Harry Potter books and films. They will see the Knight Bus as they stroll through London, walk the streets of Diagon Alley and explore iconic shops like Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, dine in the Leaky Cauldron, embark on a thrilling adventure through the Gringotts bank vaults and much more.

But before Universal officially confirmed what would happen in Florida, more Harry Potter news came out of the California theme park.
Nighttime Lights At Hogwarts Castle, which was put on hold after last summer, has resumed regular performances. The popular lights show uses the Hogwarts Castle as a canvas to stream music and scenes from the movies after darkness falls.
