Molly Weasley Likely Knew Ron’s Affections
This entry slides into fan theory territory, but I’ll allow it due to how powerful maternal instincts are. In the fourth entry The Goblet Of Fire, Molly Weasley acts cold to Hermione after reading a Rita Skeeter article that suggests Hermione is dating Viktor Krum while also toying with Harry. But why was she so mad?
What mother wouldn’t want their son to end up with a Hermione?
The obvious answer is that she didn’t want to see Harry be hurt, but there’s an alternative answer that’s more interesting. Being Ron’s mother, she likely saw that Ron liked Hermione before even he did . Thus when it’s implied that Hermione is seeing not just one, but two other boys who aren’t Ron, she really loses it.
Harry Potter Go Is Not Real
recently we came across a fake Youtube video depicting a Harry Potter GO game, similar to Pokémon GO. Dont be fooled by the trailer, the game is not real nor is Niantic working on it at the moment.
Our research found that the trailer was made by Stargaze Media, in order to facilitate the hoax even further.
Interestingly, the Youtube channel behind this put together another video, called Harry Potter GO Lets Play, and although interesting, its also not real. We are sure there are some Harry Potter fans among our readers, but dont get your hopes up yet.
On the other hand, there is an online petition targeted at Warner Bros and Niantic, currently at 65,000 signatures. The petition highlights positive aspects of launching a GO-like game centered around the Harry Potter universe:
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
In the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the Ministry of Magic has been waging a smear campaign against Harry and Dumbledore, disputing their claims that Voldemort has returned. Harry is made to look like an attention-seeking liar, and Dumbledore a trouble-maker. A new character is introduced when the Ministry of Magic appoints Dolores Umbridge as the latest Hogwarts’ Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor . Because the paranoid Ministry suspects that Dumbledore is building a wizard army to overthrow them, Umbridge refuses to teach students real defensive magic. She gradually gains more power, eventually ousting Dumbledore and seizing control of the school. As a result, Harry’s increasingly angry and erratic behaviour nearly estranges him from Ron and Hermione.
Rowling says she put Harry through extreme emotional stress to show his emotional vulnerability and humanitya contrast to his nemesis, Voldemort. ” a very human hero, and this is, obviously, a contrast, between him, as a very human hero, and Voldemort, who has deliberately dehumanised himself. And Harry, therefore, did have to reach a point where he did almost break down, and say he didn’t want to play any more, he didn’t want to be the hero any more and he’d lost too much. And he didn’t want to lose anything else. So that Phoenix was the point at which I decided he would have his breakdown.”

Grint Doesn’t Think They’d Last
While it’s mentioned elsewhere in this article the doubts that Emma Watson had about the pairing of Hermione and Ron, that is a tame viewpoint compared to what Ron’s actor Rupert Grint has to say about the relationship.
The question is, is he wrong?
In an interview with Huffington Post, said that Ron’s future probably wouldn’t be a married one “I would expect Ron has probably divorced Hermione already. I dont think that relationship would have done very well.” If that wasn’t enough of a gut punch, Grint thought that Ron would probably be living in a one bedroom studio apartment. Way to root for your character Grint!
Hermione Breaks Rules For Ron
If we were to sort out characters from Harry Potter into a Dungeons & Dragons alignment chart, Hermione would definitely be a Lawful Good. For the most part she follows rules and tries her best not to be unlawful except when those laws are unjust . But that doesn’t mean she won’t engage in some shady tactics for her lover Ron.
Love triumphs over rules.
In Half Blood Prince, Ron finally makes it onto the Quidditch team as a keeper. The more interesting story though is how he got the gig as there was another student who was trying for the same role. However, Hermione uses a spell that confuses the other student and ensures that Ron gets the nod.

Does My Child Need To Give Their Personal Data
Your child will be asked to enter their first and last name, but this will not be visible to anyone else. They then have to enter a username, which will be shown to the gaming community. Make sure your child keeps their username free of any personal data – for example, references to where they live or go to school.
Beyond this, all other details are optional, but children may give away more information than they need to when they fill out their profile page which is called their Ministry ID.
They dont have to upload a profile picture, but children can either choose from a catalogue of stock images featuring their favourite characters or take a picture of themselves and decorate it with frames, stickers, moving text etc. As they progress, they will be rewarded with more effects, which might encourage them to upload a picture of themselves. For the time being, the image isnt visible to anyone but the player, but this could change in future updates.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry, Ron, and Hermione leave Hogwarts to complete Dumbledore’s task: to search for and destroy Voldemort’s remaining four Horcruxes, then find and kill the Dark Lord. The three pit themselves against Voldemort’s newly formed totalitarianpolice state, an action that tests Harry’s courage and moral character. Voldemort’s seizure of the Ministry of Magic leads to discriminatory and genocidal policies against Muggle-borns, fuelled by propaganda and fear. According to J. K. Rowling, telling scenes are when Harry uses Cruciatus Curse and Imperius Curse, unforgivable curses for torture and mind-control, on Voldemort’s servants, and also when he casts Sectumsempra on Draco Malfoy during the bathroom fight in the sixth book. Each time shows a “flawed and mortal” side to Harry. However, she explains, “He is also in an extreme situation and attempting to defend somebody very good against a violent and murderous opponent.”
Harry experiences occasional disturbing visions of Draco being forced to perform the Death Eaters’ bidding and feels “…sickened…by the use to which Draco was now being put by Voldemort,” again showing his compassion for an enemy.
Harry Potter Game: Wizards Unite Is Like Pokemon Go For The Potterverse
There’s some Sirius-ly good news for fans of witchcraft and wizardry, the Harry Potter-themed follow up to Pokémon Go is out this Friday.
The game is called Wizards Unite, and uses augmented reality to bring the fictional Harry Potter world into the real world.
The new game was developed by Niantic Labs, which created Pokémon Go. That game, which was released in 2016, allows players to find and capture popular pocket monsters. The Harry Potter game works in a similar way.
Players can use their iOS or Android phones to see mythical creatures appear as if they were living in the real world.
So how much do we know about the game so far?

The London Zoo In London England
The London Zoo was a filming location for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It is where Harry speaks to a snake for the first time, which later became very important in the series. You can visit the zoo and see the same Burmese Python exhibit from the movie in the zoo’s Reptile House. They even have information about Harry Potter at the exhibit.
An interesting fact: Harry visiting the London Zoo is not canon in the novels. In the books, he mentions he has never been to the London Zoo. In the film, perhaps this was merely a random zoo rather than the London Zoo.
That Harry Potter Version Of Pokemon Go Is Shutting Down In 2022
The release of “Pokémon GO” was so popular that it inspired plenty of copycats trying to capitalize on the craze of the augmented reality mobile game that had people wandering the streets trying to catch’em all. In fact, the “Pokémon GO” creators at Niantic tried to capture lighting in a bottle a second time back in 2019 with “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite,” an AR game that allowed fans of the Wizarding World to visit real-world locations while casting spells, discovering mysterious artifacts, and encountering iconic characters and legendary beasts from the magical franchise. Unfortunately, the game never caught on in the same way that “Pokémon GO” did, and now Niantic will be closing up shop on the title in 2022.

Will The Game Cost Anything To Play
As with many free-to-play games, you can expect to find paid-for features. In Wizards Unite, its possible to enjoy all sides of the game without paying a penny however, it can be a lot more difficult.
For example, to complete missions you need so-called spell energy. Many mobile games use the finite energy or lives model which means that once youve used these up, you either have to wait for it to be replenished or speed the process up by spending paid-for in-game currency.
In Wizards Unite, however, energy doesnt replenish over time. The player either has to check in at inns daily or complete daily challenges to collect a small amount or pay for more. Your child may find this frustrating if they had planned to spend the afternoon playing.
Players can buy Gold the games own currency in bundles ranging from £0.99 to £99.99.
In addition to energy, Gold is also used to buy keys which unlock Portmanteaus the games version of loot boxes . Its important, however, to note that these loot boxes arent like the ones found in many other games. They can be opened without spending money, itll just take a lot more time.
Nearly Two Years On Niantic’s Game Is Moribund
Updated: This article considered the game’s failure, which has now been confirmed as it’s shutting down on January 31st, 2021.
A decade ago, with the movie release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the IP was at the peak of its power.
Estimated to be worth $25 billion, the assumption was it would continue an upward trajectory, moving into other mediums and spinoffs films, such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Of course, there had been plenty of successful games but nothing of note on mobile.
Then it happened. Warner Bros. went for the big guns.
Surely a match made in mobile heaven. Being able to explore the Wizarding World, brew potions and cast spells is exactly what every young muggle dreams of.
But 18 months on, the location-based title began rolling out, and immediately you could see the issues.
As someone that reviewed Wizards Unite, I was enthralled by the idea initially, but it became very clear that this was more of a Pokémon GO clone than a true Harry Potter experience.
That seems to have been the problem from day one, with nothing changing now nearly two years on.
Living in the shadow of Niantic’s catch ’em all phenomenon, Wizards Unite focused on bringing Pokémon GO players across, instead of making a case as to why “Potterheads” should jump in. That was its first mistake.

Wizards And Muggles Fought A War In The Middle Ages And Apparently The Muggles Won Lol
Many fans believe that around the 15th century, both the wizards and muggles went to war and the muggles rose victorious.
Here are a few thoughts to support the argument:
In The Goblet of Fire when The Minister of Magic wanted to take a magical creature, a dragon into United Kingdom for which he needed to inform the muggle Prime Minister about this. Werent wizards trying to hide all things magical from muggles. Wasnt that literally the exact policy?
The wizarding world is at a steady decline because of the Ministry of Magic set by the muggles centuries ago in order to minimize the threat. Think about it, Dumbledore may appear to be a powerful wizard, but we all know hes no Merlin or Flamel.
Hogwarts Was An Insane Asylum
How insane does that sound? Many people believe that the world of Harry Potter is so supernatural and unique, that the only explanation is that it was imagined by all characters together. A hysteria of sorts, if you will. We mean, come on, there were all sorts of things like talking paintings, talking animals, characters hearing voices and the list goes on!
Having said that, here are some clues that might lean towards Hogwarts being an insane asylum:
- In Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone, our protagonist becomes obsessed with the Mirror of Erised and ends up sitting in front of it as he eats every night. Dumbledore also warns him that people have been driven mad because of this magical artefact.
- The books portray many students acting with a murderous rage. In this case, Draco. This can be witnessed in children who have undergone intense disorders of the mind.
- The moon as we know it has long been considered a symbol of lunacy. Lupin undergoes his transformation into a werewolf every full moon. Well?
- Last but definitely not the least When Harry supposedly dies and meets the professor, at King Cross he asks him Tell me one last thing. Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?. Dumbledore responds: Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?

The Reptile House London Zoo
Of course, Privet Drive isn’t a real location. So the first real world place we see in the movie series is London Zoo. Harry goes there on a day trip with the Dursleys in the first movie,’The Philosopher’s Stone’. It’s here that Harry first starts to realise he’s different to kids after an encounter with a Burmese python in the zoo’s reptile house.
Completion Of The Series
In December 2005, Rowling stated on her web site, “2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series.” Updates then followed in her online diary chronicling the progress of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with the release date of 21 July 2007. The book itself was finished on 11 January 2007 in the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, where she scrawled a message on the back of a bust of Hermes. It read: “J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room on 11 January 2007.”
Rowling herself has stated that the last chapter of the final book was completed “in something like 1990”. In June 2006, Rowling, on an appearance on the British talk show Richard & Judy, announced that the chapter had been modified as one character “got a reprieve” and two others who previously survived the story had in fact been killed. On 28 March 2007, the cover art for the Bloomsbury Adult and Child versions and the Scholastic version were released.
In September 2012, Rowling mentioned in an interview that she might go back to make a “director’s cut” of two of the existing Harry Potter books.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone
Harry first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Starting in 1981, when Harry was just one year old, his parents, James and Lily, were murdered by the most powerful Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort . He attempted to kill Harry too, but was unsuccessful and only left a lightning bolt shaped scar on Harry’s forehead. Voldemort’s body was destroyed, but his soul was not. Harry later learns that the reason why he survived was that his mother sacrificed herself for him, and her love was something that Voldemort could not destroy.
According to Rowling, fleshing out this back story was a matter of reverse planning: “The basic idea Harry … didn’t know he was a wizard … and so then I kind of worked backwards from that position to find out how that could be, that he wouldn’t know what he was… That’s… When he was one year old, the most evil wizard for hundreds and hundreds of years attempted to kill him. He killed Harry’s parents, and then he tried to kill Harryhe tried to curse him…. Harry has to find out, before we find out. And for some mysterious reason, the curse didn’t work on Harry. So he’s left with this lightning-bolt shaped scar on his forehead, and the curse rebounded upon the evil wizard who has been in hiding ever since”.
