Ronald Weasley, also known as Ron, is a pureblood wizard and the sixth child of Arthur and Molly Weasley. Unlike many other pureblood wizards in the series, his family isnt well off and they are also friendly with muggles/muggle born wizards. His siblings include Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ginny Weasley.

Harry Potter and Ron quickly became friends at Hogwarts where they were both sorted into Gryffindor House. They met Hermione Granger early on, but didnt officially become friends with her until sometime later in the year after a bit of a rough patch with Ron.

However, once the three became friends they were inseparable. Rons greatest quality is perhaps his loyalty, much like his Patronus which is a dog.

His Infamous Datda Curse Was Inspired By A Mockumentary

Before cutting off his nose and shaving his head, a young Tom Riddle twice applied for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at his alma mater. Sadly, however, he was knocked back on both occasions. Following the second rejection, he placed a curse on the position preventing anyone from holding the post for more than a year. According to J.K. Rowling, this was inspired by the 1984 movie This is Spinal Tap in which the titular band’s drummers frequently ended up dead.

The curse may at first seem like a petty and spiteful response to rejection, but it actually helped the Dark Lord in later years. With nobody able to hold onto the post for more than a year, young witches and wizards never really learned how to protect themselves from dark magic. Whether this was all part of some brilliant plan or just a happy coincidence isn’t entirely clear, but it certainly made life considerably easier for Voldemort and his followers.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort furthers his quest for ultimate power. He disposes of the Minister for Magic and replaces him with Pius Thicknesse, who is under the Imperius Curse. Establishing a totalitarianpolice state, he has Muggle-borns persecuted and arrested for “stealing magic” from the “pure blood” wizards. After failing to kill Harry with Draco’s father Lucius Malfoy‘s borrowed wand , he goes on a murderous search for the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand ever created, seeing it as the weapon he needs to overcome Harry’s wand and make him truly invincible. He goes on a quest that takes him out of the country to Gregorovitch‘s wand shop, where he kills the old wandmaker. His journey also takes him to Nurmengard, the prison where Gellert Grindelwald is kept, and he kills Grindelwald as well. He finally locates the Elder Wand and steals it from Dumbledore’s tomb.

Rowling stated that after his death, Voldemort is forced to exist in the stunted infant-like form that Harry sees in the King’s Cross-like Limbo after his confrontation with Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest. Rowling also mentioned that, despite his extreme fear of death, he cannot become a ghost.

Jones Has Added Plenty Of Credits To His Filmography Both As A Voice And On

Jones joined a number of other major film franchises after “Harry Potter.”

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he played the evil Hydra scientist Arnim Zola in “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” .

In “The Hunger Games” , “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” , and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” , Jones got to improvise and play off of Stanley Tucci in his role as Claudius Templesmith.

Jones also worked on horror and sci-fi films “Berberian Sound Studio” and “Morgan” , and family films “Muppets Most Wanted” and “Christopher Robin” .

Recently, Jones appeared in the Dee Rees-directed political thriller “The Last Thing He Wanted” , the sci-fi film “Archive” , the drama “Uncle Vanya” , and the sci-fi thriller “Infinite” .

The actor is also voicing a character on the Disney+ series “What If?”

Cormac Mclaggen Freddie Stroma

Freddie Stroma may not have had a large part in the Harry Potter series, but he left an impression. Its hard to forget his less than subtle romantic advances towards Hermione in Half-Blood Prince, of which Stroma played with the perfect amount of charm and slime. After Deathly Hallows, Stroma earned a role in Pitch Perfect, Game of Thrones, Unreal, and is set to be in Bridgerton alongside Julie Andrews, airing sometime this year.

Padma Patil Afshan Azad

Azad joined the Harry Potter cast in Goblet of Fire, just in time for the Yule Ball. She continued to appear in the subsequent Potter films, but has not pursued acting since. Soon after her Potter time, Azad was also going through personal troubles. Her brother was arrested for assaulting her and was sentenced to six months. On a lighter note, Azad got married in 2018, and fellow Potter actors Bonnie Wright and Katie Leung were in attendance.

Lily Potter Was Played By Geraldine Somerville

Actress Geraldine Somerville played Lily Evans Potter, Harry’s mother.

Before joining the “Harry Potter” franchise in “Sorcerer’s Stone,” Somerville starred as Juliet in the 1994 TV movie adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet” and appeared alongside Coltrane on “Cracker” from 1993 to 1995.

In between filming the series, Somerville joined Smith and Gambon in “Gosford Park” .

Dolores Umbridge Was Played By Imelda Staunton

Senior undersecretary to the minister for magic and temporary Hogwarts defense against the dark arts professor, Dolores Umbridge was played by actress Imelda Staunton.

Before joining the “Harry Potter” cast in “Order of the Phoenix,” Staunton rose to fame appearing in “Much Ado About Nothing” alongside Thompson, “Sense and Sensibility” alongside Thompson and Rickman, and “Shakespeare in Love” alongside Williams.

The English actress also found success on the stage in West End productions of “The Beggar’s Opera” , “Guys and Dolls” , and “Into the Woods” .

While filming the remaining “Harry Potter” movies, Staunton appeared in a few TV series and worked on “Alice in Wonderland” alongside Bonham Carter and Rickman.

Warner Bros. released the film in North America on 11 July 2007 and in the United Kingdom on 12 July, both in conventional and IMAX theatres it is the first Potter film to be released in IMAX 3D.

Rawlins Is Still Acting And He’s Now The Artistic Director At A Theater In England

After “Harry Potter,” Rawlins joined the casts of a number of TV series and miniseries, including BBC One’s “Dickensian” and “Girlfriends.”

In 2019, he played chief engineer Nikolai Fomin on the award-winning HBO miniseries “Chernobyl.”

He recently appeared in “Undergods” and “Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse” , and was on Sky One’s “A Discovery of Witches.”

In addition to acting, Rawlins began volunteering at the East Riding Theatre in 2014, and he’s currently the artistic director there.

Lord Voldemort was portrayed by actor Ralph Fiennes.

Before stepping into the villainous role in “Goblet of Fire,” the English actor was best known for his parts in “Wuthering Heights” , “Schindler’s List” , and “Maid in Manhattan” .

He also voiced characters in “The Prince of Egypt” and “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabit” .

In a 2005 interview with the fan site Mugglenet, Rowling said that Voldemorts greatest fear is ignominious death, and if he ever encountered a boggart, he would probably see his own lifeless body.

Even without this insight, it is clear that Voldemort does everything in his power including fragmenting his soul seven times throughout the series to live up to his name and beat death.

So that Radcliffe could look as much as the green-eyed Boy Wizard described in the books, the original plan was for Radcliffe to wear contact lenses. However, he had a terrible allergic reaction and the idea was scrapped. They were prepared to go through the expensive process of digitally altering his eyes in post-production, but J.K. Rowling said the color wasnt essential as long as he had his mothers eyes.
