Draco’s Wand Says A Lot About His Inner Feelings
As Ollivander says in the series, “the wand chooses the wizard,” and there seems to be a deeper meaning behind Draco’s hawthorn wand.
According to a 2015 essay Rowling , hawthorn wands are “most at home” with a witch or wizard who is conflicted or in a moment of turmoil.
The unicorn hair core of Draco’s wand is also the “most difficult” to turn to the dark arts, per Rowling, which may explain why he couldn’t get himself to kill Dumbledore in his greatest moment of inner turmoil.
How Old Is Ron Weasley
Ronald Bilius Ron Weasley was born on March 1, 1980, and he was the sixth and youngest son of Arthur and Molly Weasley and an English pure-blood-born wizard. He was also Bills, Charlies, Percys, Freds, and Georges younger brother, as well as Ginnys older brother.
The twins delighted in teasing Ron, as did his younger sister Ginny, though they were all close. Ron was terribly protective of Ginny, which we can notice clearly when she was seeing Dean who made her cry very often. So Ron had the right to intervene, or at least he thought so.

He Didn’t Know Was The Owner Of The Elder Wand
Draco may not have been able to go through with ending Dumbledore, but he did disarm him before Snape finished the task. This important detail had many viewers confused, but J.K. Rowling set the record straight: “Dumbledore didnt want to lose his wand at that point and Draco disarmed him. So that meant that the wand gave Draco its allegiance, even though Draco never knew it touched it,” she explains to Today.
Later, when Harry physically wrestles Draco’s regular wand out of his hand, this still counts as “conquering” him, hence the Elder Wand’s allegiance transfers to Harry even though it’s in Dumbledore’s grave.
“I really wanted, very consciously, for the history of the wizarding world to hinge on this moment where two teenage boys have a physical [fight,” Rowling says. “They dont even do it by magic.”
Very Bad: Making Fun Of Neville’s Injury
After Harry and Draco got sorted into Gryffindor and Slytherin respectively, any chance of them becoming friendly disappeared. The infamous rivalry between the two houses seemed to be only compounded by the number of classes they had to take together. One such class was flying lessons with Madam Hooch, where Harry and his peers learned to use a broomstick to fly for the first time.
Neville Longbottom was one of Harry’s classmates who combined a timid nature with a truly impressive ability to screw up the simplest of tasks. Naturally, handing such an unfortunate child a flying broomstick was just asking for trouble. Sure enough, the lesson ended prematurely when Neville flew too high, fell off his broomstick and broke his hand.
While Hooch rushed Neville to the hospital, Draco lost no time in making fun of Neville for breaking his hand and then crying about it. To top it all, he then snatched up Neville’s remembrall, flew up on his broom, and tossed it hard at the ground. If Harry hadn’t been around to catch the remembrall just in time, Draco’s actions would have greatly compounded Neville’s woes.

Not So Bad: Burying The Hatchet
And so we move towards the epilog of the “Harry Potter” saga, where 19 years have passed since the “Battle of Hogwarts.” Harry and his wife Ginny had come to see their children off on the Hogwarts Express along with the children of Ron and Hermione. There they saw Draco with his own family.
Upon noticing Harry, Draco merely gave a quick smile and looked away. It might not seem like much, but it was a vast improvement over Draco’s previous habit of insulting Harry and his friends every chance he got. It appears in the end, Draco had decided to bury the hatchet with Harry. Even if the two could never become best mates, they had at least moved on from the seething rivalry of their schooldays.
Not So Bad: Hesitating To Kill Dumbledore
In a lot of ways, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” was the most important part of the saga in terms of defining Draco’s character. Until then, he had been the spoiled child of a powerful wizarding family who blindly believed everything his father told him about pure-blood superiority and how Voldemort would rid the world of filthy mudbloods once and for all.
But in “Half-Blood Prince,” Draco was faced with the reality of what being in service to Voldemort actually meant. As a precursor to becoming a proper Death Eater, Draco was assigned the task of killing off Dumbledore. Voldemort never actually expected him to succeed and fully intended to kill Draco for eventually failing his mission as punishment for his father, Lucius.
But unexpectedly, Draco came very close to succeeding, to the point where he was actually standing with his wand pointing at a helpless Dumbledore, ready to finish him off. And then, just as he was on the verge of completing his mission Draco hesitated. It was clear that despite his disdain for most people in general, the actual act of taking a life was not something Draco was comfortable with. Thus began Draco’s growing realization that he did not want to be a part of Voldemort’s army.

In April 2006, Jim McManus representatives announced that he would be playing Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus brother and the bartender at the Hogs Head, where Harry and his friends discovered Dumbledores Army.

Vincent Crabbe And Gregory Goyle
- Draco: “I always envied you and them, you know, Weasley and Granger. I had-”
- Ginevra Potter: “Crabbe and Goyle.”
- Draco: “Two lunks who wouldnt know one end of a broomstick from another. You, the three of you, you shone, you know? You liked each other. You had fun. I envied you those friendships more than anything else”
- Draco admits the shallowness of his “friendship” with Crabbe and Goyle
Draco Malfoy and his cohorts
Dracos two constant companions throughout his Hogwarts years were Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. Crabbe and Goyle were often involved in Draco’s confrontations with Harry Potter and his friends. Though Draco often made it clear that he considered both of them rather stupid a legitimate claim and treated them more like lackeys than friends, he showed genuine concern for them and the rest of his gang on a few occasions when Goyle was bitten by Scabbers the Rat, Draco waited for Goyle before leaving, and he also showed concern for Goyle when he was hit by Harry’s Curse, when Dumbledore expressed his disgust with Draco for allowing Fenrir Greyback “into the school where his friends live,” Draco denied knowing he would be there, clearly disturbed by the sadistic werewolf‘s unexpected presence. Draco’s abrupt departure from his criminal activities left Crabbe and Goyle looking oddly lonely to Harry, as Harry was used to seeing Draco in between the two hulking boys, bossing them around.
Very Bad: Continuing To Side With The Death Eaters
During the battle, Voldemort’s army was being fought tooth-and-nail by Hogwarts faculty, members of the Order of the Phoenix, centaurs from the Forbidden Forest, and as many students as could find the courage to take up arms against the invading army. And Draco… was not among those students.
While moving around the castle under the invisibility cloak, Harry and his friends came upon Draco talking earnestly to one of Voldemort’s minions. The young man was trying to convince the minion to spare his life by exclaiming, “I’m Draco Malfoy, I’m Draco, I’m on your side!” Ron reflected what the readers were feeling at that moment by punching Draco in his face after saving him from the minion.

Draco Married Astoria Greengrass And Had One Child
The epilogue of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” flashes forward 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts.
In that scene and in additional interviews, Rowling has shared details about Draco’s future, including that he married Astoria Greengrass. They went on to have a blond son named Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy.
Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone Real
The events of Philosophers Stone take place between 1991 and 1992. Filming began on September 29, 2000, and continued until March 23, 2001. Its release was scheduled for November 4, 2001.
The main character, Harry Potter, was 11 years old during the events of the first book/movie. Since the ages of characters did not differ in the books and movies, it is safe to say how old a certain character was at what time.
However, the actors were sometimes a bit older or younger. So, for example, Daniel Radcliffe was 11 years old during the filming of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.
Many influenced the young British actors from the Potter films influenced Radcliffe, maybe none more so than Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black in many of the films, most notably the last, 2004s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Surprisingly, Radcliffe considers the film to be the time he learned he liked acting.
He claims that his parents constantly reminded him that he was not obligated to just keep doing this.
But as he grew in confidence, Radcliffe started to see his active creativity as his most valuable quality as an actor.
Ron Weasley, Harrys best friend often seems less mature than Harry or Hermione. However, he was 11, going on 12 at the time. His actor was a bit older and was exactly a year older than his character. So, Rupert Grint was 12 at the time of filming.

He Believed Harry When Others Didn’t
It’s clear that Draco and Harry butted heads often, but not in every instance. When Harry started telling everyone that Voldemort was back, almost nobody believed him. Voldemort had been gone for so long, and Harry had no proof, so even those closest to him were skeptical.
For once, Draco and Harry saw things the same way. Since Draco and his family are so close to the Dark Lord and his allies, Draco was quick to believe Harry. While this wasn’t enough to make Draco and Harry new best friends, it goes to show that even coming from his rival, Draco would not ignore important information. He knew that Harry wouldn’t say it lightly, and believed him from the start.
Harry Potter And His Friends
- Narcissa Malfoy: “I see that being Dumbledore’s favourite has given you a false sense of security, Harry Potter. But Dumbledore won’t always be there to protect you.”
- Harry Potter: “Wow… look at that… he’s not here now! So why not have a go? They might find you a double cell in Azkaban with your loser of a husband!”
- Draco Malfoy: “Don’t you dare talk to my mother like that, Potter!”
- Narcissa Malfoy: “It’s all right, Draco. I expect Potter will be reunited with dear Sirius before I am reunited with Lucius”
- Harry Potter, Narcissa Malfoy and Draco Malfoy arguing in Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions.
Harry Potter, whom she saved from Lord Voldemort
Harry held Narcissa in contempt due to his rivalry with her son and hatred of her husband. In the same respect, Narcissa held Harry and his friends in disdain and contempt: especially Hermione Granger, as she was Muggle-born, and Ron Weasley, as he was a blood traitor. Narcissa also held Harry in contempt for being Dumbledore’s favourite student and associating with those whom she considered to be inferior. It is also possible that her dislike of Harry was motivated in part by her likely image of Harry’s late father, James Potter, who was a known abuser during his time at Hogwarts, directing much of his abuse towards Severus Snape, a long-time friend of the Malfoy family.

When Draco attempts to curse Harry behind his back, the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Alastor Moody humiliates Draco by transforming him into a ferret and repeatedly slamming him against the ground as well as dropping him down Goyle’s pants.

At some point between 2000 and 2004/5, she eventually married Draco Malfoy, who was two years ahead of her and a classmate of Daphne Greengrass, Astoria’s older sister. The couple had one son together, Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy, whom they saw off at King’s Cross Station for his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2017.
According to her son, repeating information from her, Lucius and Narcissa had “disapproved” of Draco’s choice to take her as a wife, but he chose her anyway and stood up to both of them. This was something which Astoria once told her son “was one of the most courageous things shed ever seen.” Frail, and knowing she was not destined for old age due to her ancestor’s blood borne curse, Astoria longed for a child so that Draco, after her eventual death, would not be alone.
She was successful in producing a child, despite Draco telling her that he didn’t care if the Malfoy family ended with him, but the pregnancy greatly weakened her and the family vanished into seclusion when Scorpius was born. This, despite the intentions of Draco and Astoria, led to false rumours that Astoria had been unable to conceive and had used a Time-Turner to go back in time and conceive a child with Lord Voldemort – which, if she actually was unable to conceive would have been a failure anyway. The stigma of these rumours were borne by her son who, at Hogwarts, was accused of being Voldemort’s child.
