Critics Panned This Actor’s Post

When Rupert Grint returned to the big screen in 2013, it was anything but magical. The actor’s first three post-Potter films were both critical and commercial failures. Into the White, a Norwegian WWII film, saw only a limited release and received mixed reviews due to its slow pacing, predictable plot, and overall “bland” nature. CBGB, a historical punk rock drama which featured his former Harry Potter co-star Alan Rickman and actress Malin Akerman, was panned by critics, earning a mere seven percent on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the worst-received of all was Charlie Countryman, a psychological dramedy in which Grint plays a wannabe porn star.

Commenting on the film, Variety called it “a profoundly unnecessary movie,” noting, “Strained attempts at magic realism will leave viewers more irritated than enchanted.” Also critical of the movie, The New York Times wrote, “This catastrophe of a movie zigzags drunkenly between action-adventure and surreal comedy with some magical realism slopped over it like ketchup.”

Harry Potter: Where Are They Now

Radcliffe may forever be the Boy Who Lived in all of our hearts, but since the Harry Potter franchise came to an end, he’s made a conscious effort to explore a variety of genres, from horror and rom-coms to period pieces and biopics . In recent years, he’s returned to fantasy as Igor in 2015’s Victor Frankenstein, starred in the intense drama Imperium, and went indie with Swiss Army Man.

During his downtime, Radcliffe works with The Trevor Project , writes poetry and unwinds by playing fantasy football and learning complex rap lyrics.

The Name Weasley Is Also Significant

Ron Weasley

According to Pottermore, now known as Wizarding World, the Weasley surname is based on Rowling’s love of weasels, despite their bad reputation in the UK which parallels the way the Weasley family is often wrongly looked down upon throughout the series.

The name of their home is probably another nod to the animal, since weasels live in burrows, and Arthur’s Patronus also takes the form of the animal.

When we first meet Fleur Delacour in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” she is in her final year at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. After graduating, she took a job at Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

Bill Weasley was also working there as a Curse-Breaker, and the two hit it off. But when Bill first started dating Fleur, his mother and sister were unimpressed with her. Molly questioned her love for Bill, and both Molly and Ginny’s general dislike for her was clear whenever she was around.

Molly even continuously tried to set her son up with Nymphadora Tonks throughout his engagement which was more than a little awkward because Tonks was already falling for Remus Lupin.

However, by the time Bill and Fleur’s wedding came around, the family had warmed to Fleur a little.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix Real

The events of Order of the Phoenix take place between 1995 and 1996. Filming began on February 7, 2006, and continued until December 31, 2006. It was released on June 28th, 2007.

From February to November 2006, live-action shooting took place in England and Scotland for outdoor locations, and at Leavesden Film Studios in Watford for interior locations, with a one-month break in June.

Post-production on the film lasted several months after it was finished in order to incorporate special effects. According to reports, the films budget ranged between £75 and £100 million .

The film was released in the United Kingdom on July 12, 2007, and in North America on July 11, 2007, in both traditional and IMAX theaters it is the first Potter film to be released in IMAX 3D.

In April 2006, Jim McManus representatives announced that he would be playing Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus brother and the bartender at the Hogs Head, where Harry and his friends discovered Dumbledores Army.

Is He Planning To Switch Careers

Hardcore Harry Potter fans may remember when Rupert Grint drew an exaggerated doodle of the late Alan Rickman as Professor Snape which Rickman, fortunately, loved. But it turns out that drawing wasn’t just something the actor did to combat boredom on set as a kid. It’s actually one of his major passions, and he’s kept this impressive skill in his back pocket for possible future work.

“I’d like to go into animation one day,” he told the Mirror. “I draw a lot, a lot of disturbing cartoons it helps me unwind.”

His enthusiasm about the failed NBC show Imperial City makes a lot more sense now, doesn’t it? Grint was so close to combining his love of art and acting, but things just didn’t work out in the end. Guess we’ll just have to see if he will ever pursue a career focused on animation in the years to come.

Rupert Grint Took It Easy Between Potters

Compared to fellow Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, Rupert Grint took on a much lighter workload between Potter films. Appearing in only three indie projects toward the end of the series, he missed out on truly showcasing his acting skills when all eyes were on him.

The coming of age dramedy Driving Lessons earned mixed reviews in 2006, while Cherrybombstruggled to find a distributor and was largely ignored by critics in 2009. The following year, it would have been a blessing if critics had ignored the black comedy remake of Wild Target. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film is an “ineptly staged farce that dishonors the original film and squanders the comedic potential of its fine actors.” Oof.

Rupert Grint Got The Chance To Reunite With Alan Rickman

Harry Potter: 10 Times Ron Was Smarter Than Hermione

Rupert Grint had a blast playing Cheetah Chrome in “CBGB,” and part of that was getting to work with an old friend. Alan Rickman, who played antagonist turned tragic hero Severus Snape in the “Harry Potter” movies, took on the role of CBGB owner Hilly Kristal in the film. Grint hadn’t caught up with Rickman since their Hogwarts days, and he was so happy to see him. “I really love Alan,” he told The Daily Beast at the time, adding, “It was just kind of strange to see him in this whole new character and in such a completely different environment. … It’s kind of like Snape is suddenly a different person.”

Rickman shared several memorable “Harry Potter” scenes with Grint, particularly in the early films. The veteran actor watched his career keenly in the years that followed. “It was great to see him on the set,” Rickman told The Huffington Post during a joint interview. He went to say, “It’s great to watch the three of them moving forward into the rest of their lives and being working actors and not trapped by one image.” When Rickman died of pancreatic cancer a few years later, Grint was “devastated,” he said in a statement. “I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with him on numerous occasions,” he wrote .
