It is important to know if youre planning a trip to Harry Potter World, access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is included with any valid Universal Orlando ticket. It is important to know that, if you purchase a one day ticket ticket to Universal Studios, then your entry to Diagon Alley will be included in that ticket. If you purchase a one day ticket to Islands of Adventure, your entry to Hogsmeade will be included in that ticket.

The two lands for the Wizarding Worlds in Universal Orlando can both be pretty packed no matter when you go during the year. While we think those crowds are totally worth it for the immersive experience, it can be a bit overwhelming.

One of the best ways to visit Harry Potter World is to plan around the crowds. We find that the least crowded times of year tend to be early fall and right after New Years Eve!

How To Get Tickets:

The Harry Potter Theme Park England is located outside of North London. We offer two main tours, each includes transportation from Central London and an entrance ticket to the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studios.

Our first tour departs from London Victoria Coach Station and is available with five regular departures every day. Youll travel to the Harry Potter Theme Park England on luxury transportation and youll have over 3 hours to explore the studios before returning to Central London. This is the most convenient way of travelling to this incredible world of Harry Potter from Central London. Victoria Coach Station is a major transportation hub, and the train station located next door is serviced by the Circle and District and Victoria underground lines. This means that you can reach it from most parts of London. Once youve boarded the coach, well take you directly to the studios, and the journey normally takes around 1 hour. Youll then have at least 3 hours to work around the Studio yourselves, ride a broomstick, check out the awesome displays and take in this awesome Harry Potter experience!

So Which Has The Best Shops When Comparing Diagon Alley Vs Hogsmeade

The Verdict: As tempted as you may be by the chocolate frogs, theres really no contest here. When it comes to which Harry Potter park is better at Universal, Diagon Alley in Islands of Adventure is the clear winner. They have more shops, more merchandise, and the fun of trading your money for Gringotts bank notes. Plus, the younger kids will love the stuffed animals at the Magical Menagerie!

When Will It Open

If you have your heart set on visiting The Making of Harry Potter, the first thing you should know is that its located in Tokyo. It will be on the grounds of the Toshimaen Amusement Park.

Now, if youre OK with booking a flight to Tokyo, it looks like there will be a limit to how many people can enter in a day. Because the park wont be operating at max capacity, it seems likely that tickets will sell out, especially in the first few months after opening!

If You Want To See All Of The Harry Potter Orlando Theme Park Arrive Early And Make A Plan

The Hogsmeade area and Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure often open early for Universal hotel guests as part of Universals Early Park Admission perk. If youre staying onsite or can get to the park close to opening time, your best bet is to tackle Hogsmeade early in the morning. Its not as large as Diagon Alley and can get crowded as the day wears on. If it gets too crowded, hop over to Diagon Alley and come back to Hogsmeade in the early evening.

Harry Potter In Amusement Parks

This article details the appearance of Harry Potter theming in amusement parks. In the late 1990s, Universal Parks and Resorts began discussing the possibility of purchasing the license for Harry Potter to create and theme amusement park rides. As Time Warner owns the license, a small walkthrough attraction was constructed at Warner Bros. Movie World called the Harry Potter Movie Magic Experience in 2001. This attraction was removed two years later. In 2010, Universal’s Islands of Adventure park opened The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Overall, it was a great experience to visit Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. The trip was magical for my son, an avid Harry Potter fan. For him, walking around Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade with his robe and wand made him feel like he was following in Harry Potters footsteps. Im not a big Harry Potter fan, but even I got caught up in how much detail went into both areas. Long story short, a trip to Harry Potter’s world will have its highs and lows, but it’s well worth the visit.

Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey

The original Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction and still one of the most popular rides in Hogsmeade! Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is located inside of Hogwarts castle and is a one of a kind ride which will allow you to experience the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on your very own broomstick. This used to be the most popular attraction with the longest line in the parks however they have not been as bad ever since Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure opened last year.

What To Know About The Hogsmeade Shops At The Harry Potter Orlando Theme Park

There arent nearly as many shopping locations in Hogsmeade as there are in Diagon Alley, but there are more than enough to meet all your wizarding needs.

Honeydukes

Honeydukes sells many of the same treats found at Sugarplums Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley. If candy isnt your thing, go for the Butterbeer Fudge or Cauldron Cakes in the bakery case.

Ollivanders Wand Shop

To ensure there are enough wands to go around, there are Ollivanders locations in both of the Harry Potter lands at Universal Orlando. Both locations have stacks upon stacks of interactive and non-interactive wands, and both hold wand selection ceremonies throughout the day.

Dervish and Banges

Dervish and Banges is your home for Golden Snitches, brooms, and Hogwarts clothing and accessories. Dont forget to check out the real live textbook, The Monster Book of Monsters. Luckily, its in a cage because this book bites!

This is another good souvenir stop where youll also find authentic-looking replica props from the Harry Potter films.

Rank: 5 The Flight of the Hippogriff is ranked at number 5 for Universal Studios Harry Potter rides for a few reasons. This is a coaster-type ride curated for smaller witches and wizards, making it not so thrilling, but very entertaining and perfect for kids. We love the overall design of this ride, but the other Harry Potter rides have it beat! With that being said, you get some of the best views of the outside of the Hogwarts Castle, which makes it totally worth it.

Warner Bros Studio Tour London The Making Of Harry Potter

Another Potter-themed attraction, but this time in the UK, this amazing look into the Harry Potter movies is based at the very studios where all eight films were made.

The studio is to the north-west of London, and if you cant apparate its a little tricky to get to , but its totally worth it. Its a different experience from the Universal one, focused as it is on visiting the original sets and discovering more about the amazing special effects.

The tour itself lets you see sets, props, costumes, and learn how the visuals, creature effects, and artwork were conceived and created. Sets include the Great Hall, the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley, and a chance to board the actual Hogwarts Express on Platform 9¾. Meet Buckbeak, Aragog, goblins and more, pore over 950 jars of Potions ingredients, and try not to vomit at the shocking pink cutesiness of Professor Umbridges office.

On top of all that, theres a range of shops to visit to get souvenirs, clothes, and the like, and throughout the year there are seasonal exhibits: Magical Mischief, Mandrakes and Magical Creatures, Dark Arts, and Hogwarts in the Snow.

The Problems With Ultra

Wizarding World’s impressive immersion, however, sometimes comes at the expense of theme park practicality. Hogwarts Castle, the Forbidden journey ride, and Hagrids coaster have been designed to handle enormous crowds. But the shops are all built to scaleto serve the story, no doubtand the tight quarters can’t comfortably accommodate the hordes of muggles who visit on busy days.

Another quibble: The coaster, Flight of the Hippogriff, seems a bit out of place in the otherwise meticulously themed land. It is a repurposed holdovers from Wizarding World’s previous incarnation as Islands of Adventure’s Lost Continent.

We also suspect that the remains of the park’s truncated Lost Continent is destined to be lost forever, since Universal is likely to have more Potter plans up its robed sleeve. Should that happen, muggles will no doubt clamor to be immersed in more of The Wizarding World.

In March 2011, Warner Bros. announced plans to build a tourist attraction in the United Kingdom to showcase the Harry Potter film series. The Making of Harry Potter is a behind-the-scenes walking tour featuring authentic sets, costumes and props from the film series. The attraction is located at , where all eight of the Harry Potter films were made. Warner Bros. constructed two new sound stages to house and showcase the famous sets from each of the British-made productions, following a £100 million investment. It opened to the public in March 2012.
