Harry Potter walks through the Forbidden Forest. He knows his task. He must face Voldemort one last time and die. He carries with him the Resurrection Stone, which had been hidden in the Golden Snitch, and he uses it. His parents, Remus Lupin, and Sirius Black appear to encourage and strengthen him in his mission.
When Harry reaches the clearing where Voldemort and his followers have gathered, he pulls off his Invisibility Cloak, steps into the glow of the fire, and announces his presence. At the same time, he drops the Resurrection Stone. We read that it slipped from between his numb fingers . Why does he let go of the Stone at that moment? The text doesnt tell us, but we can make some educated guesses.
First, we must realize that Harry doesnt seem to consciously drop the Stone. He is focused on his confrontation with Voldemort now. His parents, Remus, and Sirius have given him all the support they can. They have prepared him well. Now the conflict lies between Harry and Voldemort. Most likely James, Lily, Remus, and Sirius are still present , but Harry no longer needs to see them. They are a part of him, as Sirius has explained.
Tom Riddle’s Possession And Becoming A Horcrux
For a time, Riddle wore the ring containing the Stone. However, once he had ascertained from ProfessorHorace Slughorn that creating multiple Horcruxes was at least hypothetically possible, he used the murder of his father to turn the ring, and thus the Stone, into one. After this time, he hid the ring back in the Gaunt shack, putting numerous magical protections on the site to keep the Horcrux safe. Due to Riddle turning the Stone into a Horcrux, he either did not know of its status as one of the three Hallows and power, or simply did not care, as he has no loved ones to resurrect, nor fears the dead. However death has always been his greatest fear.
Why Did They Change Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone
JK Rowling agreed to change the title of the book from « Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone » to « Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone » because the publishers thought that American readers wouldnt pick up a book called « Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone » because they would associate the word Philosopher .

It is basically because Harry knows how powerful the stone is and that it can be used for wrong and evil purposes if it falls to the wrong hands. Wants to destroy the stone once and for alljust like how Harry throws away The Elder Wand because of how powerful it isHarry drop The Resurrection Stone in the woods, where no one knows where it is.
J.K. Rowling also suggests that she imagines the stone to be squashed into the ground by centaurs hoof, so basically it is destroyed.
Harry also never wants to use The Resurrection Stone and brings back the dead ones. Besides, he also knows that the stone does not really resurrect the dead, but instead only bring back their shades.
If the stone is combined with another two Hallows the one who has them will become the Master of Death. Never wants to be any of it and just want to live a normal life, Harry drop The Resurrection Stone and let it be gone.

She wanted to see Draco before anyone could kill him for his affiliation with the Dark Lord. Whether or not Harry was alive the answer was always going to be the same so that she could quickly see Draco. So she did to ensure she could get to Draco before his affiliation with Voldemort got him killed.

The Problem With The Resurrection Stone In Harry Potter
Harry Potter is full of mystical, magical items, but one of its most important artifacts isn’t as amazing as it seems.
In the final book and film of the epic fantasy series, Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger set out to find and destroy all of the Horcruxes items containing the shard of a person’s soul that belong to the Dark Lord Voldemort . The only way that Harry can kill Voldemort by eradicating all of the Horcruxes, so it makes sense that the trio is quite driven about their quest, but before long, another set of incredibly invaluable items temporarily tempts them away from the Horcruxes.
When Harry, Ron, and Hermione discover the mystery of the Deathly Hallows, they’re distracted by the magical triad, which is made up of the super-powerful Elder Wand, the Cloak of Invisibility, and the Resurrection Stone. Considering that Harry already has what he and his friends believe is the real Invisibility Cloak, they decide to hunt down the Wand though the Stone, which can bring people back from the dead, remains a tantalizing mystery.
However, the Resurrection Stone is actually pretty problematic. Here’s why you wouldn’t want to wield this particular Deathly Hallow from Harry Potter.

There Are Some Interesting Fan Theories As To Why Harry Drops The Resurrection Stone
Many of them are rooted in the fact that Harry didn’t believe, personally, that anyone should ever use the Resurrection Stone, which, as the name entails, is able to bring people back to life. If you aren’t familiar with the series, then here’s skinny on the stone: It was the second “Hallow” created. Hallows are magical items / relics that are capable of some truly wondrous feats.
The Resurrection Stone was the second Hallow ever created, and it’s rumored that Death itself had made it. When combined with the two other Hallows the Cloak of Invisibility and the Elder Wand the possessor would become the “Master of Death.”
Harry supposedly drops the stone for several reasons, one being because it didn’t truly bring people back, just “shades” of them as Redditor Talgori puts it.
Another reason for Harry ultimately dropping the stone is that if he were to get rid of it, then that would mean no one else could become a Master of Death. This means that Voldemort would never be able to simultaneously possess all three of the Hallows.
Interestingly enough though, the rumored way to become a true “Master of Death” in the Harry Potter series doesn’t exactly pertain to gaining ownership of the Hallows.

The Elder Wand Was His All Along
No matter how many horcruxes Harry and his friends successfully destroyed, Voldemort was still a more powerful wizard than him, so when Harry arose from the dead to pick a final fight with the Dark Lord, he was handily overtaken by Voldemort. But Voldemort still couldn’t kill him a second time with the wand, even after he’d taken ownership from Snape. Why? Well, it turned out that Snape wasn’t the one who’d gained control of the Elder Wand in the first place, so it didn’t pass to Voldemort upon Snape’s execution by Nagini.
Sure, Snape had killed Dumbledore and taken possession of the wand in Half-Blood Prince, but it was Draco who’d originally disarmed Dumbledore, and thus received the allegiance of the Elder Wand. Then, when Harry disarmed him in their subsequent duel, it was Harry who’d laid claim to the Elder Wand’s efficacy. So, while the Elder Wand was successfully used to strike its master down in the forest, when Harry had thoroughly surrendered himself, he still wasn’t disarmed of the wand in that battle. So, it remained loyal to Harry, instead of Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to cast a death curse on him a second time, this time against its owner’s wishes, it was a no-go. Was It All In His Head
There’s a popular fan theory that everything that happened to Harry Potter outside of Privet Drive was a mental machination of his young, abused mind, and Deathly Hallows did little to dispel that theory. In fact, while at the heavenly version of King’s Cross Station, Harry asked Dumbledore if it was all in his mind and his headmaster told him that it was, but that didn’t make it any less real.
So, was the entirety of the Harry Potter universe fiction, coming from the imagination of a desperate boy who lived under the stairs and who wished for something more? Very possibly so.
What Truly Is The Best Deathly Hallow
If you could own one of the three most powerful objects in the Wizarding World, which would it be? Funnily enough, when Harry, Ron and Hermione discussed which one theyd pick, they all chose differently.
But what do you think? Obviously, its all subjective but lets weigh them up and try and make a choice all the same. Its actually a pretty difficult decision, when you really think about it.

Flashback To October 1981
Towards the end of the Second Wizarding War in 1980, seer Sybill Trewlaney and Albus Dumbledore met at the Hogs Head for an interview. Trewlaney applied for the position of the Divination professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but Dumbledore was disappointed by the interview and was about to reject her application. However, as he was about to leave, Trewlaney entered a trance and provided him with a real prophecy:
The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives
She predicted that a boy that had the power to defeat Voldemort was born towards the end of July 1980 to parents who have defied Voldemort in three occasions. This boy would have a power Voldemort could not understand or ever have for himself. And if more than one person fulfilled these requirements, Voldemorts decision on who it was would ultimately determine who this Chosen One is. Voldemort chose Harry because both of them were half-blood while Neville was a pureblood.

What Happened To Hagrid After The End Of The Book Series
After the battle of Hogwarts, after the school got restored and continued its educational work Hagrid came back to work as the groundskeeper and professor under the new headmaster Minerva McGonagall.
He continued teaching all the way until 2019 when led the members of the newly established Statute of Secrecy Task Force which consisted of people seeking out a career as Magi zoologists.
Their main task was stopping magical outbursts involving magical creatures from happening and being noticed by muggles as well as taking care of any damage which may come as a result of these.
He continued training the members for this specific task and helping them when they wanted to progress to the level of an Auror.
He also rekindled his relationship with the headmistress of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Madame Maxime. Although the two reciprocated the feelings for each other they never married or progressed in their relationship since they came to a conclusion that it wouldnt work out since Maxime was too sophisticated for the two to make a good couple.

Nevilles Bravery Came Full Circle
As Dumbledore said in Philosophers Stone: It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends. This became sound advice for the initially timid Neville Longbottom, who lived up to Dumbledores words of praise more than once.
In his first year, Neville put aside his nerves to stand up to Harry, Ron and Hermione, who were sneaking about after hours actually to protect the Philosophers Stone, but he wasnt to know that. Neville ended up winning the House Cup for Gryffindor for his troubles.
Skip forward to his seventh year, and Neville led Dumbledores Army with Luna and Ginny, bravely standing up to the Carrows and even to Lord Voldemort himself at the Battle of Hogwarts. He also destroyed a Horcrux, Nagini the snake.
Nevilles transformation from the first book to the last was truly incredible but that moment of bravery from his first year showed he had that fire in him all along.

How Philosophers Stone Mirrors Deathly Hallows
In Deathly Hallows, Harry, Ron and Hermione were older and wiser than those three innocent kids we first met in Philosophers Stone. However, echoes from their first-ever adventure surface again as they go on the quest to destroy Voldemorts Horcruxes.
It got us thinking: have you ever noticed how Harrys story at Hogwarts seemed to come around full circle?

Why Didnt Harry Die As A Baby
Having overheard a prophecy by Professor Trelawney which foretold that a boy born in July would become his equal, Voldemort arrives at Godrics Hollow specifically to kill Harry Potter. First, he performs the Killing Curse on James Potter. But just as hes about to do the same to Harry, Lily steps in the way to protect her son and is killed by Voldemort. But that still leaves Harry vulnerable to a subsequent attack and while an attempt is made, it doesnt work, and instead, the Killing Curse backfires.
Harry is left with a rather impressive souvenir his infamous lightning bolt scar. Voldemort, on the other hand, is left without a body. Of course, we know that Voldemort leaves Harry with more than the lightning bolt, but well talk about that a bit later. So why doesnt Harry die from the Killing Curse? At the end of Sorcerers Stone, we learn from Dumbledore that Lily used a counter charm to protect Harry before Voldemort performed the Killing Curse on her, leaving her son with love-based protection.

Harry Potter And The Half
In the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry enters a tumultuous puberty that, Rowling says, is based on her and her younger sister’s own difficult teenage years. Rowling also made an intimate statement about Harry’s personal life: “Because of the demands of the adventure that Harry is following, he has had less sexual experience than boys of his age might have had.” This inexperience with romance was a factor in Harry’s failed relationship with Cho. Now his thoughts concern Ginny, and a vital plot point in the last chapter includes Harry ending their budding romance to protect her from Voldemort.
This book also focuses on the mysterious activities of Harry’s rival Draco Malfoy. Voldemort has coerced a frightened Malfoy into attempting to kill Dumbledore. During a duel in Moaning Myrtle‘s bathroom, Harry uses the Half-Blood Prince’s spell, Sectumsempra, on Malfoy, who suffers near-fatal injuries as a result. Harry is horrified by what he has done and also comes to feel sympathy for Draco, after learning he was forced to do Voldemort’s bidding under the threat of his and his parents’ deaths.
We Saw Bathilda Bagshot In Two Very Different Lights
As little as Harry may have actually read A History of Magic, this old textbook by Bathilda Bagshot was one of the first wizarding books that Harry was introduced to.
However, in Deathly Hallows, Harry actually met the esteemed author when he returned to Godrics Hollow, although maybe you couldnt really call it a meeting. Bathilda was an old neighbour and friend of Harrys parents who Harry went to see during a hopeless phase of Horcrux hunting with Hermione. However, it ended in a real-life nightmare.
Voldemorts dreaded snake Nagini had already got to Bathilda, and used her own skin to masquerade as the old author in an attempt to lure Harry in. It was probably one of the most terrifying scenes from any Harry Potter book, and something we never imagined happening to the author from Harrys first Hogwarts syllabus.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone
Harry first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Starting in 1981, when Harry was just one year old, his parents, James and Lily, were murdered by the most powerful Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort . He attempted to kill Harry too, but was unsuccessful and only left a lightning bolt shaped scar on Harry’s forehead. Voldemort’s body was destroyed, but his soul was not. Harry later learns that the reason why he survived was that his mother sacrificed herself for him, and her love was something that Voldemort could not destroy.
According to Rowling, fleshing out this back story was a matter of reverse planning: “The basic idea Harry … didn’t know he was a wizard … and so then I kind of worked backwards from that position to find out how that could be, that he wouldn’t know what he was… That’s… When he was one year old, the most evil wizard for hundreds and hundreds of years attempted to kill him. He killed Harry’s parents, and then he tried to kill Harryhe tried to curse him…. Harry has to find out, before we find out. And for some mysterious reason, the curse didn’t work on Harry. So he’s left with this lightning-bolt shaped scar on his forehead, and the curse rebounded upon the evil wizard who has been in hiding ever since”.
