Hermione Granger: “Well, if you don’t like it, you know what the solution is, don’t you?
Ron Weasley: “Oh yeah? What’s that?
Hermione Granger: “Next time there’s a ball, ask me before someone else does, and not as a last resort!

As the holidays begin, Hermione refuses to tell Ron who her date for the Yule Ball is, stating he’ll make fun of her. She also reveals that after Malfoy put the curse on her that made her already large front teeth grow to a huge size, she let Madam Pomfrey shrink them to a more normal size when she healed her. Draco Malfoy tries to taunt Hermione, saying no one in their right mind would take her to the ball, but the mere mention of Mad-Eye Moody is enough to drive him back. Pigwidgeon returns with Sirius’ reply. Sirius congratulates Harry for completing the first task and reminds him to stay on guard.

On Christmas Day, Dobby wakes Harry up and gives Harry his present: a pair of mismatched socks he made himself from wool he purchased with his wages. Harry then opens the presents he got from his other friends for Christmas, which include a hand-knit jumper with the image of a dragon from Mrs Weasley and a magical penknife from Sirius. After spending the day relaxing, Harry and his dorm mates get ready for the ball, then head to the Great Hall, where the event is to take place. At the start of the ball, it is revealed that Hermione is going with none other than Viktor Krum.

Onto the series that everybody fell in love with years ago, the first film adaptation of the famous book series came in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, retitled Sorcerer’s Stone for American and Indian audiences.

Taking place in Britain in the very early 1990s, the film follows the iconic characters in their first year at Hogwarts, establishing friends, foes, settings, and overall building of the Wizarding World in a brilliant way. A great start to the series, and a good adaptation.

A Chronological Guide To The Harry Potter And Fantastic Beasts Movies

Want to watch the Harry Potter movies in order in 2021? The Harry Potter films have remained firm favorites since the final movie was released back in 2011 that’s because JK Rowling’s books about the boy wizard are evergreen reading for kids, and that the iconography has become a part of the wider pop culture landscape, from theme parks to video games.

The Harry Potter movies, meanwhile, remain a mostly faithful and enjoyable way to ingest the story of the series. While they arguably get a little too dark later on, reflected in changes in visual style to remove some of the charm from its setting, the first three in particular form a great arc. While movies one and two are like Spielberg-style kids’ films, the third is moodier but more dramatically satisfying.

As a collective, they make for a great binge-watching experience. But how do you watch the Harry Potter movies in order, both chronologically and in the way they were originally released? Below, we’ve got you covered, and we’ll also explain where you can stream the Harry Potter films are the time of writing.

The invitation with too many stamps

The next day, It is revealed that Aunt Petunia has put the entire family on a diet, which Harry’s not following. Suddenly a letter from Molly Weasley addressed to the Dursleys arrives, She asks if Harry can join Hermione and the Weasley family to go to the Quidditch World Cup final between Ireland and Bulgaria. Unfortunately, the letter upsets Vernon Dursley because there are so many stamps on the envelope that the postman actually rang the doorbell to laugh about it. However, one mention of Sirius Black is enough to convince Vernon Dursley to let Harry go. Harry writes back to Ron confirming that they can come pick him up. Harry writes an extra sentence or two to Sirius’s letter explaining that he will be heading to The Burrow before sending the letter via Hedwig.

Over the coming weeks, even with help from Hermione and Ron as well as the library’s resources , Harry struggles to think of a way to breathe underwater for an hour. Two days before the second task is to start, Sirius’s response comes in. Sirius wants to know when their next trip to Hogsmeade is.

Its been nearly 25 years since the first Harry Potter book was published, but J.K. Rowlings series remains as popular as ever with kids and adults who cant get enough of the Wizarding World. Filled with unforgettable characters, fascinating creatures, and maddening mysteries, the Harry Potter books have made an enduring mark on fantasy literaturenot to mention leaving millions of readers looking for more books like Harry Potter to read next.

At its heart, the Harry Potter series is a coming-of-age tale that grows along with its young readers. In the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, Harry and his friends are 11 years old. Its a great introduction to fantasy books for kids who are roughly the same age. By the last book of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, our favorite characters are all on the cusp of adulthood. The content is darker, written at a higher level, and perfect for readers whove grown up with the Harry Potter series.

This Welsh beach in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is where Shell Cottage is set. It appears in the two Deathly Hallows movies, notably during a very sad scene that is so sad I cant even type it out.

Unfortunately, the cottage isnt there anymore for you to explore. In fact, due to bad weather, they had to build the cottage somewhere else and then lug it over just before filming. That said, its still a beautiful beach, and for a time, you could even visit Dobbys actual grave here.

    *holding back tears*

The Muggle World And 4 Privet Drive Little Whinging England

Book 1 is different from the other books in the Harry Potter series, because, at first, Harry doesn’t know about the awesomeness of Hogwarts, or about the possibility of something beyond the Muggle world. Let’s face it, like us when we open Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry doesn’t even know what Muggles are or that he’s been stuck living among them. The first several chapters of the book take place at the Dursleys’ prim house on Privet Drive. The Dursleys’ home may look polite and regular, with its “tidy front garden” and its inhabitants’ emphasis on behaving just like everyone else, but that doesn’t make it a nice or welcoming place to live. In a way, it has just as much darkness and unhappiness as you might expect from a magical landscape. Nephew Harry is forced to live in a “cupboard under the stairs” while the son of the house, Dudley, enjoys two bedrooms to himself. The Dursleys’ house might look cheerful from the outside, but inside Harry sees only bleakness. Let’s not forget that Whinging, in British English, means whining. Even the town they live in is annoying.

    Chapter : The Third Task

Yeah…we’ve helped each other out, haven’t we? We both got here. Let’s just take it together.
    Harry to Cedric

    The sphinx at the maze

Harry passes on the information he learned from the Pensieve to Ron and Hermione, excluding the details about Neville’s parents. Hermione realises this is what Rita Skeeter and Winky meant about Ludo Bagman being a dark wizard. That same night, Harry’s hatred of Voldemort reaches a new height because of what he learned from the Pensieve. As the task approaches, Ron and Hermione find time when they are not studying for their final exams to help Harry. Even McGonagall helps by allowing him to practise in her empty classroom during lunchtime. During one practice session, Ron notices Malfoy outside the castle sitting by a tree and doing something odd. Harry and Hermione also see him before they return to practice. Sirius sends Harry messages by owl each day, reminding Harry to focus on what is ahead.

On the day of the third task, Rita Skeeter releases an article claiming Harry is demented and dangerous. She uses a quote from Draco Malfoy in the article. This raises some questions between the trio, since the article mentions Harry’s scar hurting during Divination. The class takes place in the North Tower and Skeeter is not allowed inside Hogwarts, so she shouldn’t have had that information. Hermione finally figures out how Skeeter may be getting her information and leaves to put her theory to the test.
