What Happened to FAWKES When Dumbledore Died? – Harry Potter Explained

Phoenix. Count yourself lucky if your Patronus is a phoenix they’re extremely rare, but they signify a very gracious and virtuous soul who has overcome difficulties in life. The phoenix, known for its ability to rise from its own ashes, represents renewal and rebirth as well as the victory of life over death.

Mr Weasley Fixed Sirius Black’s Bike

We know very little about the fate of Arthur and Molly Weasley after the events of Deathly Hallows. They probably needed to build an extension for the Burrow, considering how big their extended family became. By the time the events of The Cursed Child began, Arthur and Molly had twelve grandchildren.

One of the things we know about the life of Arthur Weasley was that he briefly took possession of Sirius Black’s flying motorbike. Hagrid had used it to help Harry escape from Privet Drive when the spell that was protecting him finally ended. It was damaged in the landing, which is why Harry never took it with him later on .

In the years following the events of Deathly Hallows, Arthur Weasley finally managed to fix Sirius’ old bike and returned it to Harry’s possession, where it belonged.

Slytherin Finally Abandoned Its Pure

Slytherin has often been disregarded as the “evil” Harry Potter house. This is mainly done by people who haven’t read the books, as the Sorting Hat is very clear on the qualities that most Slytherin students share, and a malevolent spirit isn’t one of them. The Sorting Hat puts students who are ambitious, cunning, and resourceful into Slytherin.

The prejudice against wizards who are Muggle-born or are half-bloods was strongest among Slytherin students for a long time. Many members of the ancient wizard families were sorted into Slytherin, which helped this attitude to linger on for far longer than it should have.

According to both J. K. Rowling and Pottermore, the prejudice against those who aren’t pure-bloods has finally disappeared. Slytherin students are now accepting of members who come from all different kinds of backgrounds.

The house still has a darker reputation than the others in Hogwarts, however, which is why Albus is so afraid to be sorted into Slytherin at the end of Deathly Hallows.

Hagrid Remained At Hogwarts

If Hagrid had died at the end of Deathly Hallows, then it would have easily been the saddest death in the series. He was the one who saved Harry from his life of drudgery with the Dursleys and remained his friend throughout his time at Hogwarts. Thankfully, Hagrid survived the events of Deathly Hallows and was confirmed to still be working at Hogwarts when Albus attends the school for the first time.

There were many fans who wanted Hagrid to end up with Madame Maxime, as Goblet of Fire suggested a romance between the two. J. K. Rowling shot this idea down, however, as Maxime eventually realized that Hagrid wasn’t sophisticated enough for her. Hagrid remained single for the rest of his days.

We have yet to learn the fate of Hagrid’s brother, Grawp. He was last seen fighting giants alongside the centaurs at the Battle of Hogwarts and being fed by students after victory was won. It’s likely that he remained in the Forbidden Forest and was still cared for by his brother.

There Is No Canon Answer

What happened to fawkes after death of Dumbledore

You may be interested in some of the theories discussed in this Reddit thread. In particular, this comment is quite telling:

I read a fanfic where fawkes came to him before his battle with Grindelwald, in response to his feelings about having to face his old friend, and it’s the only reason he won.

The fact that fanfics have been written to explain the reason for Fawkes’s loyalty to Dumbledore suggests there’s no pre-existing canonical answer.

  • 1@N_Soong Thanks mate! The thing is, it’s hard to prove a negative. We can be fairly confident there’s no canon answer, but actually proving it…?Aug 15 ’15 at 9:58
  • 2That fanfic is Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. It changes a lot of canon things as well, so I don’t think you can derive any conclusions about the lack of a canon answer from this.

As rand al-thor has pointed out, there is no clear canonical evidence explaining when Dumbledore tamed Fawkes or his methodology. In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Volume 1 , the august authority Newt Scamander merely states that they are immensely difficult to domesticate, without elaborating on why this may be.

Nevertheless, there are a couple of points that are suggestive of an answer to your question:

  • Scamander does mention that phoenixes are extremely innocent creatures .
  • In The Chamber of Secrets, after Harry’s rescue by Fawkes, Dumbledore explains that phoenixes are extremely loyal creatures, and “nothing but could have called Fawkes to you”.

Rita’s reporting of the event ended with Ginny hexing her right in the solar plexes, after she mentioned that Harry was “publicity hungry.”

George Turned Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes Into A Huge Business

Hagrid survived the events of Deathly Hallows, which means that the saddest death in the book belongs to Fred Weasley.

Ron chose not to return to Hogwarts and finish his seventh year. Instead, he became an Auror and worked for the Ministry for two years. Ron then left the Auror office and worked at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes with George.

Together, the two of them turned it into a huge business, which earned the Weasley family a lot of money. Ron and George are still working for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes as of the start of The Cursed Child.

After Black’s breach into Hogwarts, Dumbledore issues orders to close every entrance to the school and grounds. After Harry falls off his broomstick during a Quidditch match because of the Dementors, Dumbledore becomes uncharacteristically angry with them and uses his wand to cause Harry to levitate safely to the ground. Teddy Lupin Inherited His Mother’s Magical Abilities

The treatment of Werewolves in the world of Harry Potter was intended to mimic that of people with HIV in the real world. Those who are inflicted with lycanthropy are considered outcasts by most of wizard society, to the point where they won’t be employed by most establishments.

Teddy Lupin was the son of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks, who both died during the Battle of Hogwarts. He did not inherit his father’s condition, as lycanthropy can only be passed on through the bite of another infected victim. Thus werewolf fathers cannot pass their condition on to their children.

Teddy did inherit his mother’s ability to change her form, however, as she was a Metamorphmagus. It is never explained how the Metamorphmagus bloodline was created, only that it is a power that cannot be learned and is passed on from parent to child.

Teddy Lupin is notably absent from The Cursed Child. The information that we know about him mainly comes from The Deathly Hallows and interviews given with J. K. Rowling.

What Is The Phoenix Called In Harry Potter

Similarly, you may ask, is Dumbledore a phoenix?

    Fawkes

why does Dumbledore have a phoenix? As she stated in 2007, Rowling originally envisioned Fawkes living in the wild before he became allied to Albus Dumbledore. The Order of the Phoenix also saw Fawkes serve as Dumbledore’s secret messenger, and he ensured that they both escaped when the Ministry of Magic came to arrest them.

Regarding this, where is a phoenix from Harry Potter?

A Phoenix first appears in the series in the Chamber of Secrets. Harry is in Dumbledore’s office, alone with the bird as it bursts into flames, startling him. Dumbledore then explains the nature of the phoenix and lifts Fawkes from the ashes, a baby once more and places him on his perch.

    Is Fawkes Dumbledore’s Horcrux?

The theory basically argues that Fawkes the Phoenix was actually a Horcrux created by Dumbledore not through a wish for immortality, but as a way to extricate his feelings of guilt over the death of his sister.

Voldemort Was Forced To Endure An Eternity Of Agony

Harry potter After Dumbledore death sad scene in hindi

The vast majority of fictional series never elaborate on the afterlife of their setting. It was a bold move on J. K. Rowling’s part to outline the terrible fate that awaited the popular antagonist of the Harry Potter series, yet it doesn’t feel out of place, due to how one of the chief themes of the series is death and how people approach their end.

When Harry Potter visits the Limbo version of King’s Cross Station, he sees a baby with flayed skin laying on the ground. Dumbledore hurries him away from the child, leaving the reader curious as to what happened. The Harry Potter movies made this scene more obvious, as the baby resembled a stunted Lord Voldemort.

    J. K. Rowling revealed that the form Harry witnessed in King’s Cross Station is what awaits Lord Voldemort in the afterlife. This is because he willingly desecrated his soul through murder and the creation of Horcruxes. He will be forced to endure an eternity of agony due to the foul deeds that he committed while he was alive.

What Happened To Fawkes After Dumbledore Died

    Phoenix tears have healing powers

    • Immortality: Like all phoenixes, Fawkes appeared to be immortal. He periodically died by bursting into flames , and was then reborn from the ashes. He was also immune to the gaze of a basilisk, making phoenixes the only known creatures to be unaffected by the deadly serpent’s gaze. Additionally Fawkes was able to swallow Lord Voldemort’s Killing Curse and was quickly reborn.
    • Healing magic: Fawkes was also able to heal most injuries simply by crying on them. Phoenix tears are the only known cure for basilisk venom, which of course he used to heal Harry Potter‘s infected wound after the Skirmish in the Chamber of Secrets in 1993. In 1995, he used his healing tears to cure Harry again of the effects of Acromantula venom.
