Vote Of The Week: Star Wars Vs Harry Potter
May 6, 2011, 2:15 PM ·Disney and Universal count some of the world’s most popular entertainment characters and franchises among their line-ups. But at the Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World Resorts, these rival companies don’t limit themselves to their own characters. This year and last, Disney and Universal are competing using two of the world’s most popular entertainment franchises, ones that neither Universal nor Disney own.
Star Wars versus Harry Potter.
Universal Orlando opened the Wizarding World of Harry Potter last year, and this month Walt Disney World opens the most anticipated new ride in Orlando this summer when it debuts the new Star Tours: The Adventures Continue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Let’s put aside for the moment which ride you’d prefer. Instead, let’s vote on which overall franchise is your favorite.
Star Wars began with movies, then expanded into books, animated TV series and one musical TV special we’d all rather forget. Harry Potter reversed the process somewhat, beginning in a series of books, then adding the movies. Both franchises offer highly popular Lego-themed video games, too. Fortunately, so far, we’ve avoided the spectacle of the Harry Potter Holiday Special.
Do prefer your conflicts between good and evil to be set amid the magic, wizards and school-age mischief of the Harry Potter franchise? Or the alien worlds, battlefields and spiritual mysticism of the Star Wars universe?

Harry Potter Vs Star Wars: Who Would Win
Ever since the fantasy worlds have become popular, there have been fandoms and fandom battles about heroes and villains. Who would win, who is stronger? Comparing the heroes of the same world might be easy since the rules are often already written and one can refer to the books or comics. However, comparisons between different worlds are a bit more complex, more interesting, and more subjected to various theories. One of the examples is the question about magic vs. the Force.
The Force is much more useful when it comes to conflict in battles. Magic may seem limitless but it has its rules and doesnt provide as much as the Force does. Both have to be taught and learned, the limits of both are affected by the person using them, and both can be used in battles but why does the Force have more use?

The Food At The Wizarding World Vs Galaxys Edge
This is another one with a clear winner, especially with the special diets crowd. I have Celiac disease , so you might feel differently than I do.
At the Wizarding World, the Three Broomsticks and The Leaky Cauldron offer traditional British eats. Guests tend to rate the food as okay while giving props to the ambiance.
Neither restaurant in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter are particularly vegan or allergy-friendly. Yes, the Chef will make you something, but for vegetarians, that tends to consist of vegetables and potatoes.
Fortunately, there are plenty of vegan options at Universal outside of the Wizarding World. There are also plenty of gluten-free options at Universal, mostly outside of the Wizarding World.
Disney has always been popular for those with allergies or special diets. Ronto Roasters and Docking Bay 7 in Galaxys Edge are no exception, and each has menu options for those who are plant-based, gluten-free, etc.
Even though Galaxys Edge is the clear winner, Universal is making great strides in accomodating special diets. We recently attended and were surprised by the number of vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options.
Dont worry I didnt forget about Butterbeer or the Milk Stand thats coming up next.

54% of the votes went to Three Broomsticks, meaning another win for Harry Potter, this time in the Theme Park Dining category.Butterbeer also ran away with 76% of the votes over Blue Milk in the iconic theme park drink question!But in the Headliner Attraction poll, Rise of the Resistance stormed over Hagrids Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure with 71% of your votes.That said, Escape from Gringotts won over Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run with 53% of the votes.And when asked which is your favorite overall, 54% said Harry Potter and 46% said Star Wars.
In the end, Harry Potter won 11 categories and Star Wars won seven. No matter which one you like more, one thing is for sure: both of these fantasy franchises are awesome! Good thing you dont really have to choose.

Of all the unanswered questions in Rick and Morty and there are many the most glaring is what happened to Beth’s Mom and Rick’s wife Diane Sanchez? Rick and Morty is an animated series on Adult Swim that follows the misadventures of nihilistic genius Rick Sanchez and his dim-witted grandson Morty Smith. When the show first began, Grandpa Rick had only recently entered the lives of the Smith family, which includes his daughter Beth, her husband Jerry, and their children Morty and Summer. Over the years, it’s become clear that Rick had some involvement in Beth’s childhood before the two became estranged for an extended period of time however, the show has never explained why Beth’s mother isn’t in the picture at the time the series takes place.
Throughout the show’s 5 seasons, audiences have met numerous characters and developed a better understanding of the core family’s history. In the parody, “Anatomy Park,” the show even introduced Jerry’s parents and Morty and Summer’s paternal grandparents Joyce and Leonard Smith. Yet, very little is known about Beth’s childhood including what her mother was like, how she and Rick became involved, and where she is now.

Movies Within The Franchises
Obviously, we know Harry Potter had 8 movies, and Star Wars had 9. In this category, were going to look at what individual movies were bad to the public and also in my own opinion. I will begin with Star Wars here.
Due to the recent nature of releases, lets discuss the sequels. Ive never known such a loyal fanbase to the Star Wars franchise to completely turn on the sequels. I can understand why. The Last Jedi wasnt a bad movie, but it definitely isnt one that stands out by any means. I mean, to be honest, the entire sequel trilogy was lackluster compared to what it actually could have been. It even got to the point where petitions arose to count the sequels as non-canon.
Its only been recent that a lot of fans have accepted the prequel trilogy, albeit if that trilogy is my favorite out of the 3. I think this is due to age, and like myself, I grew up with the prequels whereas my parents grew up with the original therefore thats their favorites. Overall, the problem is the trilogies are broken. Theres a couple of movies during the run that you often dread to waste your time in but feel the need to in order to get the best experience in watching the entire run.

Before I start comparing Star Wars Galaxys Edge vs. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, lets go over how I will compare them.
One more thing, this is not comparing Disneys Hollywood studios vs. Universal Orlando. That is another post that might happen later we will see.
I am also not comparing The Wizarding World vs. Hollywood Studios as a whole. Im not sure how that could possibly be a far comparison.
I am going to use 10 factors to compare Harry Potter World vs. Star Galaxys Edge. They include:

- Better for adults
- Prices

As we are drawing ever closer to the release of the last installment of the now critically acclaimed fantasy series Harry Potter, there is of course a huge void being opened. Fans keep wishing that there will be more books about the famous wizard, and that J.K.Rowling will pen other stories around the world she meticulously created. Its no secret that Universal parks cater to an older crowd. I even have a blog post with 5 things for adults to do in Universal.
Most of the Disney Parks are very obviously geared towards children, but Hollywood Studios isnt quite as kid-focused as Magic Kingdom.
If youre comparing Universal vs. Disney for adults as a whole, Universal will probably win. However, when comparing Galaxys Edge vs. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, there is no clear winner.
Both Galaxys Edge and the Wizarding Worlds offer entertaining rides for adults, adult beverages, and more.
Adults might have appreciated Galaxys Edge more if it had been set in an earlier time, but we already talked about that.
