Newts Arrival In 1920s New York City
With the British roots of Harry Potter and Hogwarts, the Fantastic Beasts films start off in America, where Newt Scamandar arrives in New York by ship and barely gets his magical briefcase through customs when his Niffler, who has a nose and eye for all things shiny, tries to escape.
In the process of tracking the creature down, Newt accidentally swaps briefcases with a muggle , a cannery worker named Jacob Kowalski . This takes place at a bank , where Jacob, who dreams of being a baker, is trying to get a loan to start his own bakery. When Jacob takes Newts briefcase back to his home and opens it, many of the fantastical creatures within escape, and once Jacob and Newt reunite and get up to speed, they team up to track down the magical menagerie so that they dont wreak havoc on a New York City that is already haunted by an unknown destructive force. Newt has come to New York to learn more about it, in hopes of broadening his knowledge of wild animals with witch and wizardlike powers.
After Harry Potter’s School Years At Hogwarts
The core Harry Potter series concludes in 1998, but that doesn’t mean the Harry Potter timeline ends there. Rowling has quite enjoyed giving details about every character’s future she’s happily chatted about everything from Luna Lovegood’s future love life to Harry Potter’s future career. What happens to Harry and his friends after the Battle of Hogwarts is also explored in the canon stage-play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which saw a terrifying new threat emerge to face the wizarding world: Delphini, the previously-unsuspected daughter of Lord Voldemort himself.

- 1998: Hermione Granger returned to Hogwarts to take her NEWTs. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley didn’t bother. Hermione would initially work in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, where she championed House-Elf rights. After attending, and graduating from, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Scamander joined the Ministry of Magic. After spending two years in the Office for House-Elf Relocation, Scamander joined the Beast Division and put his knowledge of magical beasts to good use. In 1918, Scamander was commissioned by Augustus Worme of Obscurus Books to write Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The book became a best seller, making Scamander a respected expert in the field of Magizoology, which also led to an appointment as Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In his personal life, Scamander married a woman named Porpentina, and fathered at least one child. By the beginning of the 1990s, Scamander was retired and living in Dorset. Professor Scamander, as of 2015, is still alive, as in that year was his 118th birthday.

His Approach To Problem
Harry Potter is a smart kid. But, despite what his glasses imply, he isnt the stereotypical geek you might expect. In fact, Harrys intellectual limitations often mean he relies on Hermiones smarts to overcome challenges . Without Hermione, Harry often resorts to straightforward, aggressive maneuvers and lacks creativity in problem-solving.
On the flip side, what makes Newt Scamander such an endearing and better hero than Harry Potter is his creativity, which Harry lacks. To escape execution in FB1, Newt uses his loyal pet, Pickett, to escape his cuffs. And in the latest film, The Secrets of Dumbledore, he utilizes the Crab Dance to assuage the anger of the fire crabs while he rescues his brother from prison. Next to Newts intelligent, creative approach to problem-solving, Harry appears all the more impulsive and clueless by comparison.
Will Fantastic Beasts 3 Have A Sequel
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will not be the last story in the series, as there will be at least two more movies in the franchise. Rowling announced in 2016 that the Fantastic Beasts series would consist of five films so there’s definitely plenty more for fans to look forward to after this one. Of course, we don’t know what those movies will be about yet but rest assured that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Newt Scamander even after Fantastic Beasts 3.

What House Is Theseus Scamander
In a interview posted to YouTube by SnitchSeeker.com on 25 September 2018, Callum Turner stated that Theseus was in Hufflepuff house.

In the teaser for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, we see that Newt works under/with Dumbledore. I was wondering,
In the storyline of Harry Potter, is Newt ever referenced by Dumbledore or anyone else?
I might be missing something, but I don’t remember any such reference. Then again, I might have forgotten it, making this question a bit naive. So bear with me.
Newt Scamander is the author of the book “Fantastic beasts and where to find them”, both in the real world and in the books and movies. He is mentioned as such in the first book:

Is Newt A Strong Wizard
Like any other specialist he is perhaps the most powerful wizard in his field. Known as the ONLY wizard to ever have success training Dragons and perhaps many other XXXXX rated beasts. His use of a magical beast defeated Grindelwald.
Why is Newt so powerful? Newt also Apparated with great accuracy whilst chasing the Obscurus, which is a skill which Dumbledore and Voldemort demonstrated in their duel at the Ministry. Newt worked with dragons during the First World War since dragons are highly resistant to spells, it implies Newt was probably a powerful spellcaster.

To Talk About Ariana Being An Obscurial
There have been many fan theories claiming that Ariana was an Obscurial. Ariana was victim to ‘sudden outbursts’ which had inadvertently led to the death of her mother and quite possibly herself.
“It destroyed her, what they did: She was never right again. She wouldn’t use magic, but she couldn’t get rid of it it turned inward and drove her mad, it exploded out of her when she couldn’t control it, and at times she was strange and dangerous. But mostly she was sweet and scared and harmless.”
Newt was experienced when it came to dealing with Obscurials, he even had one contained in his suitcase. He succeeded in extracting the destructive force from a young girl in Sudan, as he recounted in the #FantasticBeasts movie.
Dumbledore was heartbroken and filled with remorse when Ariana was accidentally killed midway of a three-way duel involving Grindelwald, Aberforth and Albus himself. He continued to blame himself for his sister’s demise. Later, however, he might have considered the possibility of Ariana being an Obscurial and could have summoned Newt in order to clear his doubts, as there was no one who possessed better knowledge on Obscurials than him.

Dumbledore And Grindelwalds Impending Duel
Notably, at the end of Crimes of Grindelwald, Newt and Dumbledore discuss how Dumbledore and Grindelwald swore not to fight one another.
Instead of making an Unbreakable Vow, the two made a Blood Oatha new concept for Harry Potter fans. Considering that Dumbledore and Grindelwald do eventually fight, a Blood Oath is presumably breakable, unlike an Unbreakable Vow.

Newt Scamander Earns His Wings
In the original movies, Harry Potter is The Boy who Lived. From the very moment he is born, he is destined to defeat Voldemort. This is all well and good but its for this reason that hes unexciting as a character. From the first novel, we get the sense that Harry will face down Voldemort one day. And, given his name adorns each story, we sense his chances of survival are large.
In comparison, Newt Scamander isnt the Chosen One. Instead, he earns his heroic status through his own feats. Newt was never destined to defeat evil wizards instead, he chooses to, of his own accord. Through his encounters with Grindelwald and Credence, his survival is a product of his own competence, not a prophesized destiny. And ultimately, Newt Scamanders perseverance through trial makes him more interesting and respectable than Harry Potter.

Newts Fantastic Beast Empathy
Harry Potter certainly has a soft, empathetic side to his character. But often, J. K Rowlings iconic hero is prone to giving in to aggression. This is best exemplified through his rivalry with Draco Malfoy and his fights with Voldemort . There is nothing inherently wrong with an aggressive hero who wins his battles through fighting. But its used so often that it can get tiresome.
On the other hand, Newt is soft down to his very core. His love for magical creatures and his unshakeable passion for saving them is endearing parts of his character. Its all down to his empathy for them, which he extends to other people, that makes him a welcome change from the relatively aggressive male hero, Harry Potter.

Last week, I saw a post on a muggle social media where people were discussing about this picture in a Harry Potter film:
This picture was taken from the film called Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
And loads of people were asking How is this possible? Of course, this question came from the muggles, mostly.
As you remember, the events in the Harry Potter films took place from 1981 onwards. Now, Fantastic Beasts film takes place 70 years before that. Its a bit confusing, isnt it? For Newt to appear in the Marauders Map?
And so, I have decided to answer some questions on how it is indeed possible for this to happen and that it isnt something that was overlooked when they were making this film.

Question 1:
How is this possible?
As I mentioned earlier, the picture was taken from the film Prisoner of Azkaban, which means Harry Potter was in his third year at Hogwarts. Harry attended Hogwarts in 1991, therefore the timeline fits.
Newt Scamander was said to have visited Hogwarts between 1993 and 1994, possibly to discuss the printing of a version of Fantastic Beasts for Muggle audiences. So, it is no surprise that he was there during that time.
And everyone knows that Marauders Map does not lie.
Question 2:
But Fantastic Beasts happens 70 years before Harry Potters time. Doesnt that make Newt Scamander about almost 100 years old?

Winner: Harry Potter Is Better Positioned As A Hero Due To His Choices
While Newt was clearly the more skilled wizard between him and Harry, there’s no denying that in terms of heroism, Harry was most fit to win. His childhood came with more surprises and traumas than most of the other children in his school. From losing his parents at an early age to losing his Godfather right in front of him, Harry had many moments to give in to his sadness and join Voldemort. But instead, he held his head high and faced off against his tormentor, even sacrificing himself to ensure a definitive victory against him. He’s also always the first to jeopardize himself if it could mean one of his friends would be safe, which is a classic trope for a hero.
Ultimately, Harry Potter took to the role of a hero quite naturally. He didn’t do it because he wanted to he made his choices because he had to, and it was his loving heart that guided him through even the scariest moments. Thankfully, he lived to tell the tale and never showed fear in the face of adversity. While Newt is noble in his own right, Harry Potter has better shown what it means to be a hero when all others would rather run away.
Newts Wellpool Of Knowledge
The naïve young coming-of-age hero is a timeless archetype, and there will always be room for it in storytelling. However, variety is the spice of life and it certainly makes stories a little tastier on occasion. While Harry is very much the audience surrogate in his movies, learning about the Wizarding World at the same rate as us, Newt is a different bag of chocolate frogs altogether.
However, for this reason, Newt is more compelling than Harry. Even by his first appearance, the young magizoologist has traveled to places like Egypt and Africa in his pursuit of magical creatures. Hes also past his Hogwarts days, becoming Dumbledores favorite student. Newts life experience makes him more assertive, and we learn more about magical creatures and the Wizarding World through him.

Voldemort’s Rise To Power
War raged in the wizarding world until 1945, the year that Albus Dumbledore is credited with bringing an end to Grindelwald’s atrocities. In the shadows, a new threat was growing Tom Marvolo Riddle was recruited as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Delighted to discover he was a wizard, Riddle became convinced that he was destined for power when he learned he was the Heir of Slytherin.

Riddle disappeared from wizarding society after graduating from Hogwarts, and began to call himself “Lord Voldemort.” Voldemort’s rise to power in the 1970s is one of the bleakest periods in the entire Harry Potter timeline, with Dumbledore’s Order of the Phoenix desperately attempting to hold the ascendant evil at bay. It wasn’t until 1980 that there would be a flicker of hope, with a prophecy that the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord would soon be born.
He Left The Ministry To Write Fantastic Beasts
As a government employee, Newts salary wasnt exactly flashy. Since he stated that he only earned a pair of silver Sickles each week, neither the money or the environment proved especially captivating to the amateur magizoologist. After just a few short years of working at the Ministry of Magic, Newt was approached by Augustus Worme in 1918 about a unique assignment. Worme was the head of the Diagon Alley-based Obscurus Books, and wanted to commission Scamander to write a book about the magical creatures of the world.
Newt, of course, jumped at the chance, and used the opportunity and advance to travel the globe and document its many curious critters. Armed only with a tea kettle to fight back aggressive beasts and a magically-enhanced suitcase to serve as his zoological park, Newt zig-zagged across 5 continents and almost every country in his pursuit of knowledge and information for his future book. Following his escapades in North America, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was published in 1927 and has been re-issued over 50 times in the years since.

He Worked For The Ministry Of Magic
The biggest clue that Newt wasnt flat-out booted from Hogwarts is the fact that he went on to work at the Ministry of Magic twice in his life. While his second tenure came after his many travels and adventures, the first followed his time at school. Surprising no one, Newt secured a job with the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Beginning in the Office for House-Elf Relocation in the Being Division, Newt spent two years working with the indentured servants. Unfortunately, he found the work to be extremely tedious, and transferred to the Beast Division once hed earned some clout.
Despite his wealth of knowledge on the subject of magical creatures leading Newt to quickly advance within the Ministry, he ultimately wasnt happy stuck in an office all day. His real passion, of course, was studying the many beasts of the world firsthand. When offered the chance to do just that, he eagerly accepted the opportunity.
