Rowling Had Difficult Years When She Was Younger
Rowling never had it as bad as Harry living with the Dursleys, but she described her teenage years as being filled with difficulty.
“I wasnt particularly happy. I think its a dreadful time of life,” she told the New Yorker.
When Rowling was 15, her mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She died a decade later, before Rowling became a published author. Later on, one of her philanthropic projects was founding the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic at the University of Edinburgh with a gift of $16 million.
The Chapter That Made Us Fall In Love With Harry Potter
Much like Albus Dumbledore, it’s important to note, first of all, that Harry Potter was loved by us, and by you long before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He is the hero of the stories, after all: our window into the wizarding world, the young man that we’ve followed ever since he was a boy, whom we’ve grown up with ourselves. Snape was really a double agent Harry himself is a Horcrux Dumbledore always knew the only way to defeat Lord Voldemort is for Harry to die for him to walk to the Forbidden Forest, and allow himself to be killed. It hits him hard.
He felt his heart pounding fiercely in his chest. How strange that in his dread of death, it pumped all the harder, valiantly keeping him alive. But it would have to stop, and soon. He Didn’t Need The Resurrection Stone
Upon going gentle into that good night, Harry awakened in what appeared to be a milky white vision of King’s Cross Station, where he’d hopped onto Platform 9¾ so many times before. Dumbledore awaited him with news that he’d successfully killed off the part of Voldemort that remained inside of him in the process of dying, and that he had a choice to board a train back to the realm of the living or to just move on … to where, he didn’t say.
Harry, knowing his battle wasn’t done, opted for the former. He left behind the scaly, fetal version of Voldemort that had infected his brain for so long, and used his perceived death to gain an advantage as Hagrid carried him back to the school, with an unknowing Voldemort bragging about his conquest to garner new recruits from the ravaged student pool.

Mr Potter Might Be The Worst But His Business Reasoning Checks Out
Mr. Potter is a bona fide miser who’s no stranger to taking advantage of people to build his empire. But for all his villainy, his business acumen can’t be denied. While it’s wrong to take advantage of people during a time of need, something that makes Mr. Potter rich, he’s not wrong for not wanting to loan untrustworthy people money. A person of any status typically shouldn’t loan money to someone who can’t pay it back. This is very true if they’re trying to run a business with that money … especially if that business is a bank. If loans were given to every single customer, a bank would lose all its money.
Mr. Potter also isn’t wrong for not wanting to lend George money. For one thing, if George’s business goes under , then Mr. Potter will control Bedford Falls it’s brutal, but it’s the truth, and Mr. Potter would be a fool to ignore it. Moreover, George doesn’t have the assets to cover a possible loan from Mr. Potter. Then there is the fact that George’s financial woes would have dissolved if he accepted Mr. Potter’s generous and life-changing job offer. It’s hard not to see where Mr. Potter is coming from, especially when he makes a point of not stiffing George when he’s in a rough position.

Live Action Television Series
On 25 January 2021, a live action television series was reported to have been in early development at HBO Max. Though it was noted that the series has “complicated rights issues”, due to a seven-year rights deal with Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution that included U.S. broadcast, cable and streaming rights to the franchise, which ends in April 2025.

The Harry Potter series has been recognised by a host of awards since the initial publication of Philosopher’s Stone including a platinum award from the Whitaker Gold and Platinum Book Awards , three Nestlé Smarties Book Prizes , two Scottish Arts Council Book Awards , the inaugural Whitbread children’s book of the year award , the WHSmith book of the year , among others. Harry Does Everything George Dreamed Of Doing
George is a solid and loving older brother. Naturally, he sacrifices himself to save Harry as a child when Harry falls into a frozen lake and George, tragically, loses hearing in one ear. Harry doesn’t squander his life, and goes on to do everything George dreams of doing. Harry goes to college in a town that isn’t Bedford Falls. He receives an excellent job offer from a company that isn’t Building and Loan. Harry travels the world as he becomes a Navy pilot and fights in the war. To add insult to injury, Harry even earns the Medal of Honor, and the town prepares a hero’s welcome for him upon his return on Christmas Eve.
George loves his brother deeply, and he takes over the family business so his younger sibling can have a life. But it’s hard not to notice especially for adults who ponder just how much they’ve given up in service of others that Harry gets to do everything his older brother originally set out to do because said older brother gives those dreams up.
Price Wars And Other Controversies
Asda, along with several other UK supermarkets, having already taken pre-orders for the book at a heavily discounted price, sparked a price war two days before the book’s launch by announcing they would sell it for just £5 a copy. Other retail chains then also offered the book at discounted prices. At these prices the book became a loss leader. This caused uproar from traditional UK booksellers who argued they had no hope of competing in those conditions. Independent shops protested loudest, but even Waterstone’s, the UK’s largest dedicated chain bookstore, could not compete with the supermarket price. Some small bookstores hit back by buying their stock from the supermarkets rather than their wholesalers. Asda attempted to counter this by imposing a limit of two copies per customer to prevent bulk purchases. Philip Wicks, a spokesman for the UK Booksellers Association, said, “It is a war we can’t even participate in. We think it’s a crying shame that the supermarkets have decided to treat it as a loss-leader, like a can of baked beans.” Michael Norris, an analyst at Simba Information, said: “You are not only lowering the price of the book. At this point, you are lowering the value of reading.”

It’s A Wonderful Life Is Hardly A Christmas Movie
It’s a Wonderful Life isn’t remotely a Christmas movie until after George comes back to the present day and the original timeline is restored. Of course, the audience is aware that it’s Christmas Eve, and there are Christmas decorations in George and Mary’s house. But the film is primarily a biography of George’s life, so his guardian angel can better understand why he’s worth saving. Thus, most of the movie doesn’t take place during Christmas time it just so happens to start and end on Christmas Eve. This isn’t a knock on the film: It’s a realization that’s easy to miss, and hey, if Die Hard is a Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life certainly counts too. But it should be noted that It’s a Wonderful Life is considered a Christmas movie despite lacking many traditional holiday elements, which is especially obvious when it’s compared to classics likeElf or How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
In the end, none of these inconsistencies matter all that much. The townspeople save the day, the bank’s embezzlement issue is swept under the rug, the movie ends with the main characters living happily ever after. It’s a Wonderful Life might land differently for kids and adults, but all viewers are united in appreciating its kind-hearted moral.
In 2016 Rowling Released A Harry Potter Prequel Play And Sequel Movie
Last year was another landmark year for “Harry Potter.” The play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” premiered in London, with a book version released around the world in July. Finally, “Harry Potter” fans had another chance to go to a bookstore at midnight and buy a new entry in the series.
The play was written with John Tiffany and Jack Thorne. Its story begins 19 years after the events of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and it concerns the next generation of wizards that followed in the wake of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
“It was 17 years and just because Ive stopped on the page doesnt mean my imagination stopped,” Rowling told The Guardian. “Its like running a very long race. You cant just stop dead at the finishing line. I had some material and some ideas and themes, and we three made a story.”

Why Did Harry Potter Intentionally Lose The Resurrection Stone In The Forbidden Forest
Just before he is sacrificed to Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest, Harry dropped the Resurrection Stone.
I thought he would come, said Voldemort in his high, clear voice, his eyes on the leaping flames. I expected him to come. Nobody spoke. They seemed as scared as Harry, whose heart was now throwing itself against his ribs as though determined to escape the body he was about to cast aside. He hands were sweating as he pulled off the Invisibility Cloak and stuffed it beneath his robes, with his wand. He did not want to be tempted to fight. I was, it seems . . . mistaken, said Voldemort. You werent. Harry said it as loudly as he could, with all the force he could muster. He did not want to sound afraid. The Resurrection Stone slipped from between his numb fingers, and out of the corner of his eyes he saw his parents, Sirius, and Lupin vanish as he stepped forward into the firelight. Did The Resurrection Stone Bring Harry Potter Back To Life
Contrary to its name, the Resurrection Stone is not what brought Harry back to life. Although many people assume the stone has the ability to bring the dead back to life this is not really how it works.
The way it works is described in the legend of the three brothers. Rather than reviving people the stone just brings them back as a shadow of who they were before they died.
This is why the second brother ultimately killed himself. His original wish was to bring the girl he loved back to life but the Resurrection Stone couldnt bring her back.
We actually see the way it works when Harry drops the stone in the Forbidden forest. Rather than bringing his parents and Remus and Sirius back to life, they appear in front of him like ghosts.
This means that even if Harry tried to bring himself back to life with the stone, he wouldnt actually succeed in his plane. He would simply return to the world as a ghost.

Rowling Was Heavily Involved With The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter At Universal Studios Orlando
In 2010, Universal Studios opened The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a theme park that recreated Hogsmeade, let attendants pick a magical wand, and ride a roller coaster through Hogwarts or on a Hippogriff. It’s so popular that attendance at Universal Studios increased by 66% at its first full year, and it’s now within striking distance of Disney, which ruled the theme park industry for decades.
Bloomberg reported that Rowling involved herself in every minutiae of the project, banning hamburgers, pizza, and Coca-Cola and instead ensuring that only British-style food would be served. Engineers proclaimed Rowling’s sketches for Hogsmeade’s wonky, surrealistic buildings as architecturally impossible, but eventually they figured it out anyway.

On 4 December 2008, Rowling released The Tales of Beedle the Bard both in the UK and US.The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a spin-off of Deathly Hallows and contains fairy tales that are told to children in the “Wizarding World”. The Making Of Harry Potter
In March 2011, Warner Bros. announced plans to build a tourist attraction in the United Kingdom to showcase the Harry Potter film series. The Making of Harry Potter is a behind-the-scenes walking tour featuring authentic sets, costumes and props from the film series. The attraction is located at Warner Bros. There Are Some Interesting Fan Theories As To Why Harry Drops The Resurrection Stone
Many of them are rooted in the fact that Harry didn’t believe, personally, that anyone should ever use the Resurrection Stone, which, as the name entails, is able to bring people back to life. If you aren’t familiar with the series, then here’s skinny on the stone: It was the second “Hallow” created. Hallows are magical items / relics that are capable of some truly wondrous feats.
The Resurrection Stone was the second Hallow ever created, and it’s rumored that Death itself had made it. When combined with the two other Hallows the Cloak of Invisibility and the Elder Wand the possessor would become the “Master of Death.”
Harry supposedly drops the stone for several reasons, one being because it didn’t truly bring people back, just “shades” of them as Redditor Talgori puts it.
Another reason for Harry ultimately dropping the stone is that if he were to get rid of it, then that would mean no one else could become a Master of Death. This means that Voldemort would never be able to simultaneously possess all three of the Hallows.
Interestingly enough though, the rumored way to become a true “Master of Death” in the Harry Potter series doesn’t exactly pertain to gaining ownership of the Hallows.
