He Willingly Readied Harry To Die ‘at The Correct Time’
Of all the heinous things that Dumbledore has done, his most villainous is that he knew from the start that Harry would have to die in order to defeat Voldemort – and he set him up for it. Some of his actions have even been theorized to be manipulating him from the start into a hero-worship of Dumbledore strong enough to sacrifice himself: his exile from the wizarding world, his triumphant and love-filled homecoming, years of being praised and supported by Dumbledore and finding only success, the sudden ignoring, the apologies and the pleas for help – all of it may have been part of an evil master plan leading to his death.
It may be that Dumbledore felt that this was the only way to take down Voldemort once and for all, but in the end, all villains have reasons for their plans, and justifications for their actions. Dumbledore, it seems, was no different in plotting the death of a child.

Throughout the Harry Potter series, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore acts as a benevolent force who guides Harry and his friends through adventures both large and small. However, when you look at disturbing facts about Dumbledore, its clear he’s irresponsible at best, and legitimately evil at worst.

He Handled Harrys Pseudo
Not only did he lie to Harry he actively kept him in the dark when Harry might have been starting to catch on because he was literally being possessed by Lord Voldemort. Well, kind of. Voldemort was edging his way into Harrys head and pretty much making him crazy. He was influencing Harrys emotions to be more like his own, making him angry and spiteful, turning his entire world dark and how did Dumbledore handle this? By ignoring Harry and letting him spiral because he was worried Voldemort would try and get to him through Harry.
This was seriously selfish AF. Dumbledore might try and say he had Harrys best intentions at heart, but considering how broken and angsty Harry was in book five, Im not convinced.
Death Eaters And Enemies
Bellatrix Lestrange, a notorious Death Eater
Bellatrix Lestrange was a Death Eater who fought in both Wizarding Wars. She was fanatically loyal to Lord Voldemort and so, although acknowledging Dumbledore as a very powerful wizard, considered her master as the superior being. Bellatrix was among the few people who knew of the plan to assassinate Dumbledore, and that Draco Malfoy had been assigned the task of murdering him. She participated in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, and reacted to Dumbledore’s death with utter glee. Bellatrix did not live to discover that her initial suspicions of Snape’s loyalty had been correct, dying during a ferocious duel with Molly Weasley. Dumbledore recognised Bellatrix as an incredibly dangerous and sadistic Death Eater, commenting to Severus Snape that, given the choice, he would prefer to die a quick and clean death rather than fall prey to Bellatrix who tended to “play with her food”.
Bellatrix also killed many of Dumbledore’s friends, such as Sirius Black, Dobby the house-elf, and Nymphadora Tonks.

There’s a popular fan theory that everything that happened to Harry Potter outside of Privet Drive was a mental machination of his young, abused mind, and Deathly Hallows did little to dispel that theory. Dumbledore’s Death was pre-arranged by Dumbledore and Snape back in The Half-Blood Prince :
Snape had to kill Dumbledore. Firstly, because it was an act of mercy for Dumbledore, as he was already dying, first from the curse he received when he put on the Gaunt ring, and second when he drank the potion from the cave with the locket horcrux. That’s what Dumbledore means when he says “Severus. Please.”.
Snape also had to kill Dumbledore to remain a trusted Death Eater, and Voldemort’s right hand. He needed to be a double agent in Voldemort’s ranks in order to be able to help Harry & Co on their quest, such as when he sent his doe Patronus to the lake where he hid the sword of Godric Gryffindor.
As to how Snape became a double agent – it was after Voldemort had become determined to kill Harry as an infant, thus endangering his mother, Lily, whom Snape love since they were children.
Snape begged Dumbledore to protect Lily however, Lily still died. Snape continued to serve Dumbledore as a double agent to honour her memory , which was living in her son

Yes Dumbledore Did Ask Snape To Kill Him So Draco Wouldnt
Dumbledore did indeed ask Snape to kill him, so that Draco wouldnt either succeed and maim his own soul, or more likely fail and be killed by the Dark Lord for his almost inevitable failure.

Dumbledore didnt want Draco to do it and harm his soul, but he also didnt want to die at the hands of someone who would prolong his death and make it more painful. He preferred that Snape kill him quickly, and since it was done as an act of mercy, Snapes soul would remain intact.
Its clear that Dumbledore did both ask and expect Snape to kill him, and this was always his plan.

So yes, Dumbledore did indeed ask Snape to kill him to spare Draco the Dark Lords wrath or a maimed soul because of Dracos own attempts to kill Dumbledore.
He Also May Have Been Too Weak To Do Much Different
Dumbledore was quite weak after having drank the potion in the Horcrux bowl. Harry had to Apparate him back, and he was so weak at that point, hed collapsed on the ground.
Ive been better, said Dumbledore weakly, though the corners of his mouth twitched. That potion was no health drink

He did actively choose not to fight that being when hed be killed, since hed immobilized Harry so he couldnt help fight, but that may have also been in part because Dumbledore knew he was in no shape to fight himself out of the situation even when Harrys help. He was in bad shape, and he knew dying at some point soon was inevitable, so he probably didnt consider it worth the effort to try fighting, possibly fail, and possibly die in a different way than hed intended and ruining his plan.
He didn’t care
I think there were several different reasons that he chose to die, first, this might be a minor one and possibly nonexistent but he was greedy and chose to die to rid himself of the ever worsening world and he was also very very very old so he was probably declining in power and wanted to settle down and have some peace which was seemingly lacking throughout his life and was too prideful to actually die in combat so he made one of his minions kill him so that word would spread that he chose death rather than dying in combat or at the hand of Voldemort.

What Did Dumbledore Say To Snape Before He Died

In the beginning, we thought the phrase meant, Please, Severus, help me! but the truth was different. The ending of book seven Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows revealed that Dumbledore was dying and that he had arranged that Snape would administer the final kill.

Harrys blood in the Dark Lord tied him to life, so he didnt truly die. He was further helped by being the true master of the Elder Wand. It didnt want to kill its master, so the Killing Curse it cast against him wasnt as powerful as it could have been. It had nothing to do with the Resurrection Stone – that only brings back the shadows of people who are already dead, it doesnt prevent death.

For many years, Sirius Black is believed to have betrayed the Potters, giving away their secret to Voldemort. In reality, he never receives a trial and is just thrown into Azkaban without a real investigation. Even if Albus was convinced Sirius was guilty, he would have known the trial didn’t happen. It was his duty to ensure it, and he never did.
