Harry Potter Movies In Order Where To Watch

Don't Miss

Harry Potter On Netflix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – Original 2007 Theatrical Trailer

The good news is that all the Harry Potter films are on Netflix. However, theyre not available on Netflix UK but they are available in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Thats not a massive problem, provided you have a VPN. A VPN can change your IP address, which means that your identity will be protected online, and you can also change your location to make it appear as if youre browsing from another country. We personally recommend NordVPN, as its got a wide range of servers and competitive pricing, though ExpressVPN is also a good option.

We have more information in our roundup the best VPNs for streaming. Alternatively, you could also test one of our recommended free VPNs. However, these offer lower bandwidth speeds and dont have as much privacy protection, so proceed at your own risk.

If you have a Netflix subscription already, then this is pretty simple. Simply download your VPN of choice, choose a server from one of the countries listed above, and then open Netflix and sign in with your usual account. You wont have to pay anything extra, so this is actually the most financially feasible option especially if you already have a Netflix account. However, unlike Now TV, Netflix does not offer a free trial anymore for new customers.

Note that this is against Netflixs terms of service, and the company may reserve the right to cancel your account, so proceed accordingly.

How To Watch All Harry Potter Movies In Order

Before the Fantastic Beasts series, there was only one way to watch the movies in order from the first movie to the final battle. Now that Fantastic Beasts has been added to the mix, you can also opt to watch the movies in chronological order. Here, well show you the release date order and the chronological order of the franchise.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part Ii

In the finalmovie, Harry, Ron and Hermione break into Bellatrixs vault at Gringotts with the help of Griphook the goblin. There, they steal Helga Hufflepuffs cup, which is another Horcrux, but Griphook steals the Sword of Gryffindor from Harry and abandons them, forcing the trio to escape on the bank’s guardian dragon.

Harry realises there must be a Horcrux connected to Rowena Ravenclaw within Hogwarts, and they head back to school via a hidden passage in Hogsmeade. Snape learns of Harrys return but flees when Professor McGonagall challenges him to a duel. She gathers the student body for a final battle against Voldemorts forces.

Harry retrieves Rowena Ravenclaws diadem and returns to the Chamber of Secrets to get another basilisk fang so he can destroy it along with Helga’ cup. While Voldemorts army attacks the school, Harry sees into the Dark Lords mind and realises that his pet snake, Nagini, is the final Horcrux.

The trio witness Voldemort explaining to Snape why he cannot use the Elder Wand until Snape is dead. Nagini fatally injures Snape, who tells Harry to take his tears to the Pensieve before dying. When Harry reads the memories held within, Harry learns that Snape was protecting Harry as he loved his mother, Lily.

‘fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’

Warner Bros.

Were it not an extension of one of the most popular movie franchises of all time, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” may well have been a franchise killer. This prequel fails to conjure the magic of the other films. Sure, the titular beats are a hoot, as is Eddie Redmayne‘s soft-spoken protagonist. But the story is a real slog, making the prospect of four sequels a hard pill to swallow.

Harry Potter Movies In Order Of Chronological Events

FELICE

Now, here’s where things get slightly tricky. The Fantastic Beasts films are prequels, so they take place decades before the events of the original Harry Potter movies.

Those take place during Harry’s time at Hogwarts, so each book/movie corresponds to a school year. The final two movies split the final book and school year.

Here’s the list of Harry Potter movies and the year in which they are set:

  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  • Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
  • Fantastic Beasts 3 is likely to be set right after the second film in that series and before the events of Sorcerer’s Stone.

And if the Harry Potter stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is made into a movie, it would fall at the end of both the release order and chronological order since it’s set circa 2017.

Why The Time Gap Between Fantastic Beasts & Harry Potter May Never Be Filled

Harry Potter and Order of Phoenix | Full Movie | Explained in Hindi

There is a substantial time leap between the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies â but that gap might never be filled. When J.K. Rowling initially set out to make the Fantastic Beasts movies, the original plan was that there would be five in total. The first film in the series performed well, though not as well as the other Harry Potter movies. Studios hit a snag when The Crimes of Grindelwald came out, however, as it’s arguably the worst Potter film of all time. The second Fantastic Beasts installment damaged the series, as it wasn’t well received by audiences and lost a considerable sum of money at the box office. Hopes were certainly not high for Fantastic Beasts 3, and the movie faced a major recast, with Mads Mikkelsen taking Johnny Depp’s place as Gellert Grindelwald. Ezra Miller’s growing list of accusations also didn’t help. Fantastic Beasts 3 opened to mixed reviews, with Mikkelsen’s performance being praised but not much else.

Related: Fantastic Beasts 4 Still Has Big Problems To Fix

As of now, director David Yates has another film on his production schedule, and no news has come out about the possibility of Fantastic Beasts 4. The movie might not come to fruition, as studios would be unwilling to shell out millions of dollars for another likely flop. When it comes to watching the Harry Potter movies in order, the third Fantastic Beasts film might be the very last on the list, and audience imaginations might have to fill in the blanks.
