How Warwick Davis Was Able To Handle Playing Three Harry Potter Characters
Very few actors can claim to be part of the Star Wars saga, the Harry Potter franchise, and the Leprechaun series. In fact, I think Warwick Davis might be the ONLY person in film history to lay claim to that distinction. But did you realize that Warwick Davis played three different characters over the course of the eight-film Harry Potter arc? Thats right, Davis switched between three roles during the filming of the sequels, and recently explained how he, as an actor, approached that narrative dichotomy, stating:
You have to approach each character differently. it starts with the way they think, then add body language and posture. They become distinct and different automatically, it wasnt a conscious effort.
That sounds like actor speak for something that probably makes common sense. Of course you have to approach each character differently. But seeing as how, in the Harry Potter universe, an actor can really play around with reality and with what is expected it becomes easier to manipulate physical characteristics to bring new color and flavor to a role. Whether you are playing a Hogwarts instructor, or a bank teller at a goblin financial institute.
As you may recall, Warwick Davis who gave this quote during a Reddit AMA started playing Professor Flitwick in the first Harry Potter movie, 2001s Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. Hes pictured in that role at the top of this article.

Susan Bones, who was sorted in Hufflepuff, took to the stall in front of the entire school.
The flame-haired actress was played by none other than Eleanor Columbus, who had no dialogue and featured briefly in the first two films.

In Hogwarts Legacys gameplay preview, watchers learned that the player character will visit Gringotts, the goblin-controlled wizarding bank. By itself, this seems innocuous, and indeed a natural part of the game. Gringotts is a major location in the Harry Potter universe, as its where the Sorcerers Stone was kept before being moved to Hogwarts, and where one of Voldemorts seven Horcruxes was hidden. What exactly the visit means, especially with the Ancient Magic that theyll wield, is uncertain, but it is certainly an interesting detail. Its possible that the fact that the player character visits Gringotts, and seemingly is on their way to a vault, means that they could come from an old magical family with hefty coffers, much like Harry Potter himself.

Griphook is an employee of Gringotts Bank near Diagon Alley and is the goblin who shows Harry to his vault for the very first time in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, before escorting Hagrid to another vault to collect the Philosophers Stone.
Griphook only reappears in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when he is captured by the same Snatchers who capture Harry and Ron.

Davis’ first-ever role in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise came in 1983 when he was still a child. Playing Wicket the Ewok in ‘Return of the Jedi,’ it was Davis’ kickstart into the world of blockbuster movies .
The actor didn’t appear in the franchise again until 1999’s ‘The Phantom Menace.’ Davis had no less than four roles on his return he played childhood friend to Anakin Skywalker, Wald weapons dealer Weazel a Tatooine street trader and also stood in as Yoda’s body double.

Hogwarts Legacys State of Play seems to contradict itself with Gringotts bank and the games goblin rebellion, but small details make sense of it.
The recent Hogwarts Legacy gameplay preview gave a look at a goblin rebellion, but it also showed the player character in Gringotts bank, raising the question of plot holes. Although all the details of the games plot and the rebellion arent known yet, it seems concerning that the player character is able to access Gringotts while goblins are being treated as one of the main antagonists. Hogwarts Legacy releases in Holiday 2022, which means that if it is a plot hole, then there isnt much time to fix it.
In the Wizarding World, Gringotts is seemingly the magical communitys bank. Its run by goblins, and is widely considered to be impossible to steal from. The only person known to have ever pillaged Gringotts successfully is Harry Potter himself, and even then it was only with insider knowledge and the aid of a former employee. Hogwarts Legacy uses Hogsmeade, Gringotts, and presumably other magical locations in addition to the castle itself. Its gameplay preview showed one of the antagonists, a goblin by the name of Ranrok who is rebelling against wizardkind. Not much is known about the goblins of the Harry Potter universe, save that they are skilled artisans who covet their treasures closely.

This is LEGOs third year of Harry Potter Advent Calendars, and to freshen up the formula, there is some sort of game built into the Advent Calendar this year which Im excited to see unfold.
Note: Harry and Hermione Megafigures not included.

This year, in addition to Harry Potter, Ill also be counting down the Star Wars, Friends and Advent Calendars as well, making it the biggest and most involved year yet!
How does this work?
If youre new here, I do daily updates on each window of the 2021 Harry Potter Advent Calendar. I usually post updates in the morning, but sometimes if I get too busy at work, updates will be posted in the evening. Ill update this post each day, as I dont really enjoy the practice of creating new posts for each day as it keeps it so much cleaner.
Unlike other sites, Im actually opening each window as I go, and Ive been able to be relatively spoiler-free to be as surprised as I can get. All reviews, thoughts and reactions are live as we go along, there are no pre-planned photos or thoughts, unless I happen to be travelling or away from home.

Why did Bellatrix have Griphook? Griphook went on the run after the fall of the Ministry of Magic to Death Eaters, because the Ministry of Magic placed wizards in control of the goblins and he refused to acknowledge any wizard as his master. But then he was assigned to put Godric Gryffindors Sword in Bellatrixs vault.
How did the goblins know Hermione was an imposter?
Harry Imperius curse on the goblin did the trick. Because Bellatrixs wand was reported as lost at the Malfoy Manor where the trio ended up taking it away to Shell Cottage, so showing it would have immediately revealed that Hermione was only Bellatrix in disguise, as the real Bellatrix didnt have her wand.
Did Griphook betray Harry? However, despite being rescued by them, Griphooks general mistrust of wizardkind resulted in him betraying Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. He betrayed them because he believed they would not hand him the Sword of Gryffindor, after destroying the Cup and other Horcruxes.

THE actor who played one of the most beloved characters in the multi-billion pound Harry Potter movies is still living a humble life in a housing association flat in Chelmsford.
Diane Gibbins, of Trenchard Lodge, played house elf Dobby in the final two Harry Potter films.
Despite the seven movies grossing more than £10 billion worldwide, Diane was paid just £360 a day, and says many people dont believe she even starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe.
A lot of the time people dont believe me, said the 47-year-old, who has also played a baby wearing a suit in an Andrex advert.

It was great fun, I enjoyed it and there was great camaraderie amongst the other actors, said Diane, who has spent her Harry Potter earnings on adapting her flat for her needs.

The Harry Potter film franchise is known for being packed full of famous faces who have played characters from the Wizarding World.
From Helena Bonham Carter playing Bellatrix Lestrange to Robert Pattinson playing Cedric Diggory, plenty of well-known actors have supported the main cast of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint throughout the series.
There is, however, one actor who played not one, but two different characters throughout the film series.
Across the seven films, Warwick Davis played the characters of Filius Flitwick and Griphook, meaning he appeared in each of the eight films in some capacity.
Filius Flitwick is the Charms Master at Hogwarts and the head of Ravenclaw House.
He was imagined by JK Rowling to be a very small old man and is described on her official website as being human with a dash of goblin ancestry.
Professor Flitwick plays an essential part during the Battle of Hogwarts, putting a multitude of charms on the school to protect it from Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
Warwick portrayed Flitwick in all but the seventh film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows , and underwent an image transformation between the second and third film.
In Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and The Chamber of Secrets , Flitwick is portrayed as an old elf-like man, with silver hair and a long white beard.
