The Rise Of Conceptual Designs And Non
The Art of Wand Work,PrisonerAfter the third film, there was a lot more development of the concept of the wands. Wands from then on were a lot more liberal in their design, which was great. This is essentially a stick thats been reinterpreted hundreds and hundreds of times in lots of different ways. From simple wands, we went into all sorts of different finishes, incorporating bone finishes, different metal components. . . inlays, crystals, and on and on.

Harry Potter’s Wand According To Lore
Did you know that holly, the wood of Harry Potter’s wand, was one of the rarer types of wands, known for its protective properties? There are only a few select trees that can produce magical qualities in a wand, which makes the demand for high-quality wand wood even greater. Wand making is a difficult art that dates back centuries, and wand lore is a huge part of the wizarding world. Holly wands often choose wizards who deal with the most tumultuous journeys, usually those bound for a quest or adventure. The core of this type of wand makes all the difference, too. A phoenix feather is a particularly rare core for a wooden wand, but they make for an extremely powerful combination.
Quick Answer: What Is Harry Potters Wand
Harry Potters wand was 11 long, made of holly, and possessed a phoenix feather core. This was described by Garrick Ollivander to be an unusual combination of wand core and wood. The feather was donated by Fawkes, Albus Dumbledores phoenix. Harrys wand was described as being nice and supple.

Did Harry Potter Buy A New Wand After The War
In the film ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II’ we don’t see Harry buy himself a new wand after the war, nor do we see him using the Elder Wand to repair his old wand .
What, if anything happened with Draco’s wand? Did Harry continue to use Draco’s wand from then on?
- 4I guess this could become on-topic if you were interested in what he did for a wand, exclusively in the film universe. Even then it’s pretty much answered by the dupe.Jun 18, 2015 at 11:02
- I feel like this should be in movies & tv ‘-‘
In the books Harry uses the Elder Wand to repair his own.
He rummaged in the pouch hung around his neck, and pulled out the twohalves of holly still just connected by the finest thread of phoenixfeather. Hermione had said that they could not be repaired, that thedamage was too severe. All he knew was that if this did not work, nothing would.
He laid the broken wand upon the headmasters desk, touch it with the very tip of the Elder Wand, and said Reparo.
As his wand resealed, red sparks flew out of its end. Harry knew thathe had succeeded. He picked up the holly and phoenix wand and felt asudden warmth in his fingers, as though wand and hand were rejoicingat their reunion. Im putting the Elder Wand, he told Dumbledore, who was watching him with enormous affection and admiration, back where it came from. Itcan stay there. If I die a natural death like Ignotus, its power willbe broken, wont it? The previous master will never have beendefeated. Thatll be the end of it.
Why Did Harry Potters Wand Act On Its Own
At the beginning of the final book, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Harrys wand acts seemingly of its own accord. Throughout the book, he refers to his wand acting on its own and is repeatedly told that he must be mistaking something. That wands do not act of their own free will, and Harry mustve done a spell on his own without realizing it.
Harry remained convinced of what had happened as he knew he had felt the pain of his scar cause him to pass out just as his wand spun in his hand and shoot a spell towards Voldemort. Harrys wand shot a stream of golden flames strong enough to shatter the wand of Lucius Malfoy, which Voldemort had borrowed believing it would be enough to overcome the limitations of the dual cores his and Harrys wand shared.
Later we learn that the wand did act on its own, just as Harry had continued to insist. Although the two wands involved were not brothers, the piece of Harry that was an unintended Horcrux recognized Voldemort as both Harrys brother and his mortal enemy. This caused Harrys wand to defend Harry despite Harry being incapacitated at the time.

Is It Good To Have A Flexible Wand In Harry Potter
Spellcasters who focus on elegant and refined spell casting should favor sleek, sleek wands. There is no separate aspect of wand composition, but the materials used as well as the design are important in their overall appearance. A length should therefore not be decided independently neither are the type or core material, nor will it reduce the length of a wand.
When And Why Did Harry Potters Wand Break
In Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows both Harry and Hermione make the decision to travel to Godrics Hollow to visit Bathilda Bagshot while they are searching for the Sword of Griffyndor.
Believing its possible Bathilda either has the sword or information about where the sword may be, they follow her back to her home.
Unfortunately for Harry, Hermione, and Harrys wand, Voldemort foresaw this as a possibility and used Nagini as a trap. Bathilda lured Harry up to a room where Nagini was waiting to attack. As Nagini tried to attack, Hermione used a blasting curse which, while saving them both, ricocheted and caused Harrys wand to break.
Harry saved the pieces of his wand out of nostalgia as he knew based on Rons experiences in Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets that wands could not be repaired once broken to this degree.

Who Has A 13 Inch Wand In Harry Potter
Thirteen of Professor Snapes wands are used. This is 25 inches long at the widest part. A black tuxedo with spareness and a sense of power just like that of Warner Bros. Among the longest wands in the Wizarding World was the one belonging to Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher during Harrys second year at Hogwarts.
Magical Abilities And Skills
Since a young age, Dumbledore has always shown great magical abilities. During his education at Hogwarts, Dumbledore was known as the most brilliant student to have ever stepped into the school, winning every prize of note that the school offered, and in his N.E.W.T.s, did things with a wand never seen before. Rowling has said that Dumbledore is primarily self-taught, although he had access to superb teachers at Hogwarts, and, as far as his education is concerned, Dumbledores family would be a profitable line of inquiry. While he is not vain, Dumbledore also exhibits no false modesty, readily acknowledging that he is unusually intelligent and an exceptionally powerful wizard. He admits a number oftimes to Harry in their occasional meetings in Half-Blood Prince that he makes mistakes, and since he is smarter than most men, his mistakes tend to be correspondingly huger.
Dumbledore is an expert at nonverbal spells and is famous as an alchemist who has worked with Nicolas Flamel, the only known maker of the Philosophers Stone, and is credited with discovering the twelve uses of dragons blood. His Patronus takes the form of a phoenix, a recurring symbol in the books.
His knowledge of the most powerful kind of magic, love, is extensive. He taught Harry about its very essence, and the innate power of his ability to love his parents, which eventually helped Harry realise his destiny to kill Lord Voldemort.

Who Made Harry Potters Wand
Harry Potters wand was made by Garrick Ollivander who owned Ollivanders Wand Shop in Diagon Alley. He was quite interested in the wand Harry ended up with because of its unique core. A phoenix feather from Dumbledores pet phoenix, Fawkes, which had only given a feather to one other wand.
The other wand containing the brother core was Tom Riddles wand, which had been used to try and kill Harry when he was only a baby. The shared cores the wands had would eventually lead to some very interesting types of magic between Harry and Voldemort as the series progressed.
What Happened When Harry And Voldemorts Wands First Dueled Each Other
In short- Priori Incatatum is exactly what happened. Harry and Voldemort first dueled in the graveyard of Voldemorts father at the end of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. During the duel, Harrys wand overpowered Voldemorts and forced it to show the spells Voldemort had recently performed.
Harry was able to see an echo of Cedric Diggory, Frank Bryce , Bertha Jorkins, and then Harrys own parents.
The echos formed a protective barrier of sorts between Voldemort and Harry, allowing Harry to get back to the portkey with Cedrics body, and return back to the grounds of Hogwarts.

Why Did Harry Potters Wand Change
Harrys wand changes mostly due to the breakage of his wand with the blasting curse Hermione cast. After his wand is broken Harry and Hermione take turns sharing her wand while they keep guard on their travels and hunt to find the Horcruxes.
Wizards can also cause a wand to change allegiances when they are won during a duel. If one wizard defeats the other during a duel, the defeated wizards wand then belongs to the victor. Because of this Harry was also able to take possession of several other wands during the course of the series, mostly within Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
Why Did Harry Potter Break The Elder Wand
That is the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in the world, Youll be invincible. This statement by Ron keeps ringing in my head. Why did harry break the elder wand also known as the death stick? Think about it, the wand is really powerful, though, to everyone that has owed the wand, it has always bought misery and gruesome deaths. He who must not be named, Dumbledore, and a lot of great wizards were killed in pursuit of the wand. The negativity that comes with owning the wand is terrifying.
Harry broke the wand and tossed it away, because of the negative power the wand contains. It was too much for a person to wield. However, this is different than in the book. After beating Voldermort, Harry returned the wand to Dumbledores tomb because the power affects the person wielding it.
As a true Harry Potter lover, you must have some series of questions to ask J.K Rowling after watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II. Some are curious about why harry broke the elder wand, why was he able to break it, did Harry break the wand in the book also? He could have fixed Hogwarts before breaking the wand, couldnt he? How did Dumbledore win the wand from its previous successor? Who owns the elder wand? These are questions that you might have.

Only Men Have Claimed Ownership As Far As We Know
All wizards who boasted of winning the Elder Wand had something in common they were, quite specifically, wizards. However, this may not tell us the full story. Tempting as it may be, one can own the Elder Wand without bragging about it. Indeed, it would be prudent to resist, given the wands tendency to attract would-be murderers. It is also possible to acquire the Elder Wand without even realising, as in the case of Draco Malfoy.
Could a witch have owned the Elder Wand at some point? Its possible, especially if she did so stealthily, unknowingly or if it simply went undocumented for whatever reason. After all, entire centuries of the wands history remain unaccounted for. One witch even claimed to have killed the wands then-master . And what about Tina Goldstein in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? We saw her disarming Grindelwald. If Grindelwald had the Elder Wand at this point did this make her the master?
Dumbledores words on the subject are open to interpretation: No witch has ever claimed to own the Elder Wand. Make of that what you will.
How Did Harry Come To Master The Elder Wand
Harry takes Draco Malfoy’s hawthorn wand, not the Elder Wand. How, then, does he become the master of the Elder Wand, which he never took from its true owner , or touched? Does a wizard lose the allegiance of all his wands if even one of them is taken from him? Pretty risky innit?
This is a complicated topic.
What is not made clear in canon, but is explained later by J.K. Rowling, is the fact that
if a wizard or witch defeats another and earns the allegiance of their opponent’s wand, all wands under the control of the opponent switch allegiance to the victor and it is possible for a witch or wizard to be the master of more than one wand at a time, and to lose the allegiance of more than one wand at a time.
Draco Malfoy was master of both his hawthorn wand and the Elder Wand, following his disarming of Dumbledore on the Astronomy Tower the night Dumbledore was killed.
When Harry Potter defeated Draco Malfoy by taking Draco’s wand at Malfoy Manor, not only did Draco’s hawthorn wand switch allegiance to Harry, but the Elder Wand did as well. As noted, Draco never knew he was master of the Elder Wand at any point. Furthermore, the Elder Wand chose Harry as its master.
In Deathly Hallows, Voldemort says,
“But then, Potter, Dumbledore as good as gave me the wand!” Voldemort’s voice shook with malicious pleasure. “I stole the wand from its last master’s tomb! I removed it against its last master’s wishes! Its power is mine!

Who Is The True Owner Of The Elder Wand
Antioch Pevrell, one of the Pevrell brothers is the first owner of the Elder Wand. After several years, Gergorovitch is the next owner, the wand was stolen by Grindelwald from Gregorovitch. After Grindewald mastered the Elder wand, he was defeated by Dumbledore and imprisoned in Nurmengard. Grindelwald and Dumbledore used to be friends until Dumbledore lost his sister. They both had their passion for the Deathly Hallows in common, but the death of Dumbledores sister affected them.
However, Dumbledore did not duel Grindelwald for revenge, he did it to fight and overpower The Dark Lord. Later, Draco disarmed Dumbledore, to become the new master, and Harry Potter beat Draco at the Manor winning both his Hawthorn wand and the elder wand. Though Draco never used the elder wand, it was rightfully his till Harry defeated him.
The owner of the wand must win the wand in a duel. There cannot be two owners, and the elder wand decides its own destiny. When Voldermort removed the wand from Dumbledores tomb after killing Snape, he believed he was the rightful owner, but the wand rightfully belongs to Draco Malfoy because he disarmed Professor Dumbledore at the astronomy tower before Snape finished the job. The true owner of the wand is the person that overpowered its previous owner. When Harry potter destroyed it, he was the rightful owner.
