Can The Living Cross The Veil
As we see from Harrys reaction in Order of Phoenix, the longer one stares at the Veil, the more they get entranced and will feel a strong inclination to climb up on the dais and walk through it. We see Harry unconsciously walking toward it as if he was being pulled by an unseen force. If not stopped, a person would walk right through the Veil, never to return, as its not made for the living to cross. If they do, they cant turn back, as they instantly die upon breaching its threshold.
Unfortunately, we see an example of this when the Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange hits Sirius with a spell during their fight in the Department of Mysteries. In the films, Sirius is hit with a Killing Curse, which means that he was dead before his body passed through the barrier. In the books, however, Bellatrix hits him with a spell that appears as a red streak of light, which means that it was either Stupefy or some other curse, not Avada Kedavra. The spell stunned Sirius or else left him unable to resist, and he fell backward into the Veil and it engulfed his body, instantly killing him.
Harry saw the look of mingled fear and surprise on his godfathers wasted, once-handsome face as he fell through the ancient doorway and disappeared behind the veil.
Completion Of The Series
In December 2005, Rowling stated on her web site, “2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series.” Updates then followed in her online diary chronicling the progress of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with the release date of 21 July 2007. The book itself was finished on 11 January 2007 in the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, where she scrawled a message on the back of a bust of Hermes. It read: “J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room on 11 January 2007.”
Rowling herself has stated that the last chapter of the final book was completed “in something like 1990”. In June 2006, Rowling, on an appearance on the British talk show Richard & Judy, announced that the chapter had been modified as one character “got a reprieve” and two others who previously survived the story had in fact been killed. On 28 March 2007, the cover art for the Bloomsbury Adult and Child versions and the Scholastic version were released.
In September 2012, Rowling mentioned in an interview that she might go back to make a “director’s cut” of two of the existing Harry Potter books.
No Percy Weasley Storyline
Hes not a main character, but Percy Weasley is involved in the first three Harry Potter movies. He then leaves to work at the Ministry of Magicbut thats all movie-goers get to see.
In the books, its established that Percy has turned his back on his family following their decision to accept Harrys word on Lord Voldemorts return. This causes Mrs. Weasley, in particular, a great deal of anguish. The rest of the family are furious with him, and it would have made Percys appearance to arrest Albus Dumbledore later in the movie make a whole lot more sense.

‘keep An Eye On Quirrell’
In the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 movie, Harry peers into Snape’s memories with most details from the book included. However, it doesn’t show an amusing observation from Dumbledore that takes place in the book.
The Hogwarts headmaster, without even looking up, tells Snape to keep an eye on Quirinus Quirrell. This shows he wasn’t totally oblivious to his colleague plotting away throughout the year and also shows just how amusing the character can be. Given how it was only a minor detail, it’s understandable this was left out.

The Wizarding World Finally Believes That Voldemort Is Back
One of the biggest issues Harry and Dumbledore face in the beginning of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” is that the Ministry of Magic and the rest of the wizarding world do not believe the young wizard’s claims that Voldemort has returned. After “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” and the death of Cedric Diggory , that still isn’t enough for Cornelius Fudge , the current Minister for Magic. It takes the battle at the end of the film between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix to truly convince them of the truth. Of course, they’re ones to be in denial until they see it for themselves.
Like any other politician, Fudge initially convinces himself that Dumbledore has some machinations about wanting to be the Minister for Magic himself, and so he believes that the claim that Voldemort has returned has to do with that. Of course, it also seems like Fudge is too scared to really do anything, and to actually face the possibility that the Dark Lord is back is too much for him. In the end, his avoidance and denial still leads to his downfall in politics, as Fudge resigns from his position as Minister after admitting the truth about Voldemort’s return. This makes Harry and Dumbledore happy, as people appear to finally be taking the threat seriously.
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix Director: David Yates
Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Imelda Staunton
REVIEW: HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
Order of the Phoenix was probably one of the most plodding and teen angst riddled of the Harry Potter novels but it is to the credit of director David Yates that he has somehow managed to craft the story into one of the most balanced and focused entries in this immensely popular series. This superbly crafted adaptation cuts away the majority of the unimportant elements and focuses on Harrys increasing sense of isolation. The world at large does not believe him about the evil Voldemort having returned from the dead the kindly Professor Dumbledore is going out of his way to avoid him, and his dreams are becoming frighteningly and violently real. If you strip away the fantasy and magical elements, what you essential have in Order of the Phoenix is a movie about the confusing loneliness of adolescence. Harry spends a lot of time being angry at everything and everyone and this is very much a story about struggling powerlessly against both external injustice and internal conflicts.

Harry Potter: 10 Flashback Scenes From The Books Fans Never Saw
With 4,224 pages worth of Harry Potter, it was inevitable that not all of JK Rowling’s work could make it onto the big screen – including flashbacks.
The Harry Potter movies contain numerous flashback scenes, often heading back to well before the Boy Who Lived’s story started. We see James and Lily Potter murdered by Lord Voldemort, take a trip down Lord Voldemort’s memory lane and get to see various other moments to play out. However, with 4,224 pages worth of material, it was inevitable that not all of JK Rowling’s work could make it onto the big screen.
There are many, often involving a Pensieve, that make for an interesting reading, helping to flesh out the wizarding world. Unfortunately, they didn’t get a chance to be depicted in the movies.

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone
This is the first story in the series when the main character first learns some of his innate abilities after living for so long alone at his aunt and uncles house.
Its also the setting where he has his first encounter with the villain of the main series.
This particular movie is about trying to find the mythical philosophers stone and preventing it from getting into the wrong hands.
The age of our little wizard during this phase of the story is eleven years old going on to twelve.
This is the year that any aspiring witch or wizard, even ones from magical families, go for the first time to learn magic in school.
While its not mentioned, its likely that all students probably went to a normal school before this age.
Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone Was A Great Start To A Series According To Audiences
Audience score: 82%
The first film debuted to rave reviews, mostly due to its faithful retelling of J.K. Rowlings source material.
Sorcerers Stone will always be warmly remembered as the beginning of an unforgettable series for many fans.
Its a tough job when you are hired to make an adaptation of a popular childrens book. And its even more tough when that movie is also intended to be the beginning to a long series of movies, wrote audience reviewer Lasse G. But Chris Columbus actually does a good job.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Set In 1993/94
The Prisoner Of Azkaban is not one of those lesser Harry Potter films, though, and again, follows the same school year to school year structure as the previous two films while also taking the entire series in a new direction.
With Alfonso Cuarón at the helm, this movie has a darker tone and begins a trend of Potter films becoming more mature and more assured in their craft. Save for that bizarre final shot, the movie is gorgeous, well-acted, and many will argue the very best of the movie series.
Number Twelve Grimmauld Place
- The details regarding Bill Weasley’s moving back to England to be closer to his family with his new position in the Order of the Phoenix and Charlie Weasley being in charge of recruiting foreign wizards to the Order has been omitted. Additionally, unlike Bill who would later appear in the film adaptations of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Charlie was never acknowledged as a member of the Order in the films.
- Percy Weasley‘s standing with the Ministry of Magic is sudden and unexplained, and there is no mention of him disowning his family when he chose to support the Ministry. This creates a large plot hole in the film due to his disposition towards Harry being unexplained, making it confusing for the viewers who did not read the book.
- In the novel, Harry yells at Ron and Hermione about everything he has done when they mention what Dumbledore told them about not telling Harry anything. He mentions saving the Philosopher’s Stone, killing the Basilisk, fighting the dementors in the third year, getting through the maze, and fighting off Voldemort. In the film, he does not yell, and his rant is restricted to one single line: “I’m the one who saw Voldemort return, I’m the one who fought him, I’m the one who saw Cedric Diggory get killed.” The mentions of what Harry did in the previous books is however mentioned later in the film during the first Dumbledore’s Army meeting.

Harry Accepts His Fate According To The Prophecy
At the end of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” Dumbledore finally opens up to Harry about the prophecy and what could be ahead for the young hero. While Harry is always well aware that he is the “chosen one,” born to defeat Voldemort, there are a few key details that are kept from him as he grows up. The biggest of these is a line in the prophecy that reads, “either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives…” This part of the prophecy is purposely hidden from Harry by Dumbledore to allow him some joy and freedom in his youth before he has to face his real destiny. But as the threat of Voldemort and the impending battle becomes more real, Dumbledore’s care becomes an issue for Harry, who desperately wants to know what he can do to help.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald is the second in a five movie plan to further flesh out these characters. This film focuses mainly on Credence, Newt and his family, and Grindelwalds scheming. Jude Law joins the cast as young Dumbledore in this movie.
The Crimes of Grindelwald received a mainly negative reaction from die hard Harry Potter fans. However, if you enjoyed the first Fantastic Beasts movie, you likely wont completely hate this one, unless you really dont like changes to the established canon. If youre new to Harry Potter and thinking of turning away because of Potter fans keep telling you to stop now, dont listen. At least give this film a chance and decide for yourself whether to hate it or think its fine. Not the best, but not terrible.
Fantastic Beasts 3 is expected to hit theaters on November 12, 2021, but with a delayed filming schedule, it might be a bit longer before we see another Harry Potter movie. Luckily, as we wait for the next film installment, we can always rent or buy any of or other video on demand services.
As for what transpires after the original Harry Potter series, if you’re looking to check in on what became of Harry, Ron and Hermione as they headed into adulthood, check out the stage production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The script for the play is available for purchase, however, since it’s a play, it’s really meant to be seen on the stage, if you’re able to get to New York or London.
