Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1
The final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows was broken down into two films to really flesh out the final story. The first film mainly revolves around Harry, Ron, and Hermione trying to obtain and destroy the Horcruxes in order to kill Voldemort. David Yates once again adds his stamp to the franchise by directing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 1.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 emphasizes a lot of the emotional turmoil that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are now facing as theyre isolated from everyone else, all their losses over the past six movies, and facing a very dangerous foe. It takes a more quiet route as it leads up to the big grand conclusion.

The Harry Potter Series: Ages And Stages
The first three Harry Potter books are great to read aloud to kids aged from about six or seven up. Certainly most children – both boys and girls – will love them from the age of eight.
If your eight-year-old is a fairly capable reader, he or she will probably be able to read the first three books independently. Remember though, that it can be fun to read aloud to older children and the Harry Potter books are great for this purpose because most adults enjoy the stories too.
The last four books are long and quite complex. Certainly many ten-year-olds will be quite capable of reading them but again, I think they’re great for reading aloud to kids aged up to about eleven.
Most teens will enjoy reading the books and in fact the seventh and final book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is probably not suitable for readers under about thirteen. And if your teen does want to read the whole series, there are editions with more adult-looking covers so they’re not embarrassed to be seen reading what they probably think of as kids’ books.
The seven books in the Harry Potter series, in order, are:

When the trio arrives at his house, they find him distraught about Buckbeak‘s upcoming hearing before the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures, and Harry decides it is better not to bring Sirius Black up.

Costume And Set Design
Cuarón wanted to establish a more mature tone in the characters costumes and the sets. He explained, What I really wanted to do was to make Hogwarts more contemporary and a little more naturalistic. He studied English schools and noted, Each teenagers individuality was reflected in the way they wore their uniform. So I asked all the kids in the film to wear their uniforms as they would if their parents werent around. Columbus considered the costumes changes as a reflection of the character development within the books themselves and their transition to teenagers. Whereas in the first two films the characters are constantly in their uniforms, in Prisoner of Azkaban the characters often wear modern street clothes. Rowling, who had to be consulted on this change, stated, for me the cloaks and everything makes sense for the academic time but in personal time they would be wearing their own clothes. joined the film as costume designer, also working on all of the following instalments in the series.
Some sets were either reused from earlier films or used for more than one space. The Defence Against the Dark Arts and Divination classrooms were filmed in the same set. The Honeydukes set was a redress of the set of Flourish & Blotts that was seen in Chamber of Secrets, which, in turn, had been redressed from the Ollivanders set from the first film.
How Old Are The Other Harry Potter Characters
When James and Lily were 20 years old, they just had Harry, and when Sirius was just 21 years old when he entered Azkaban. These facts are not the easiest to grasp since we believed Sirius was much older.
When Harry first arrived at Hogwarts, Hagrid was 63 years old, while Snape was just 31. According to the Harry Potter fandom Wiki, Lupin and Tonks married in 1997, making Lupin 37 years old and Tonks 24 years old. Tonks attended the same school as Charlie Weasley, but she graduated only a few months before Harry.
James and Lily probably married and had Harry at a young age because of the first war against Voldemort, which is not that strange at all. Of course, it was only because of their deaths and Lilys sacrifice for Harry that their story ended so suddenly.
Tonks most likely decided to marry Remus as soon as possible during the second Voldemort war for the same reasons. Remuss condition had kept him from finding a partner, let alone having a wife and child.
Students are not sent a letter on their birthdays, however. They typically get their letters/notifications in the summer before school starts. By coincidence, Harrys birthday is in the summer, so it is about the same time, and technically Harry got his first letter a week before his birthday.
We hope this clarified some questions and concerns about the ages and the brutality of life these young individuals had to go through. Still, their stories never age, much like the characters in them!

Fear And The Dementors
Fear, in any of its forms, is one of the most unsettling and undesirable emotions. It makes us feel very vulnerable and helpless, and we usually try to avoid it whenever we are faced with something that induces it. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the dementors are creatures that feed on peoples joy and hope, making them weaker and more vulnerable with time. The dementors are a very apt and clever metaphor for depression and perpetual sorrow, something that Rowling intended when she wrote this book.
When Rowling wrote this, she was suffering great loss from the sudden death of her mother, and the periods of sorrow that kept coming back and made it difficult to live were what led to the creation of dementors in the plot. Dementors represent a dark force that takes away all that is happy and the ability to be happy again and leaves behind fear, doubt, and sorrow.
The only way to overcome the dementors is to cast a Patronus, which in essence is an imprint or projection of what makes our self happy and worth living for. There are always going to be difficulties and struggles in life, but recalling the moments that we crave to go back to or memories that made us really happy, helps us focus on what to be grateful for and what to hope for instead of what to fear. This is one of the best ways to triumph over fear.
Chapter 1: The Patronus
- “Oh no… Much worse than that. You can exist without your soul, you know, as long as your brain and heart are still working. But you’ll have no sense of self anymore, no memory, no … anything. There’s no chance at all of recovery. You’ll just — exist. As an empty shell. And your soul is gone forever … lost. ”
- Remus Lupin, on the dementor’s kiss
Harry learning the Patronus Charm
Harry ceases speaking with Hermione, even though he knew she had good intentions with reporting the Firebolt. Ron is also no longer on speaking terms with Hermione because Crookshanks has been attacking Scabbers non-stop. Meanwhile, Harry starts his lessons with Lupin. Lupin tells Harry that the spell to drive off Dementors is called the Patronus Charm, instructs him in how to cast one, and lets him practise on a Boggart. Harry fails to produce a Patronus at first. This, however, is to be expected the Patronus Charm is well beyond O.W.L. standard. During his first lesson, Harry learns that Lupin was a friend of his father James back during their days at Hogwarts, and also knew Sirius Black as well.
In January, Slytherin beats Ravenclaw in their Quidditch match. Gryffindor’s chances of getting the Quidditch Cup are good, as long as they don’t lose in their own match against Ravenclaw.

- Harry Potter: “I KNOW, OLIVER!”

Harry playing in the Quidditch final
Buckbeak’s impending execution causes the friends to reconcile. Ron promises to help Hermione work on filing an appeal for Buckbeak’s case, since Harry will be too busy with Quidditch practice sessions for the final match. After Malfoy mocks Hagrid during one of his classes, Hermione smacks him in the face. She then accidentally skips Charms. In Divination, Hermione finally explodes and drops the class.
In May, the Quidditch final takes place: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin. Gryffindor needs to be more than fifty points ahead before Harry can catch the Golden Snitch in order to win the Quidditch Cup. On the morning of the match, Harry catches another glimpse of the dog, this time with Crookshanks. In the match, Gryffindor take an early lead, and Slytherin resorts to cheating. This helps the Gryffindor team to gain penalty shots and get further ahead. Harry manages to catch the snitch at the right moment, allowing Gryffindor to come in first in the overall points and win the Quidditch Cup at last.
