Hear The Languages Of Potter
I began collecting Harry Potter translations somewhat late into Potter collecting at the urging of my best book-friend, Peter who runs the lovely Potter website, ThePotterCollector.com and Instagram page @ThePotterCollector. The collecting idea fit, and once I started, I found I greatly enjoyed hunting down all the different books from the far-flung corners of the world. However, rather than just collect Philosopher’s Stone, as most are doing for obvious reasons, I am collecting all the published books available in the many languages of Potter . Since first beginning to collect translations of these two books, I have also branched out to also collecting the shorter Potter sets on the rare occasion, I’ll purchase a Beedle the Bard translation, but this isn’t too common, as I really only purchase those for their cover art, but not necessarily because I want them to complete anything.
My lovely translation collection began because of Peter and was made all the better because of my love of languages and traveling. Now, it continues to thrive because of the many, many people I’ve met along the way while working to complete it. I knew before I began collecting the Potter translations that the Potter collecting community was full of lovely people, I just did not realize how wide the Potter community extended until I started on my journey Around the World with Harry Potter in the middle of 2015.

Year 2013 has proven a magical one for J.K. Rowlings phenomenal book Harry Potter. Fans worldwide celebrated the 15th anniversary of the first publication of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, known here and in the United States as Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.

On our last trip, we chose to hire a car in Orlando, and parked in the Universal parking lot, but plan is to save some time and hassle and stay in a Universal hotel on our next visit.
Get a two day Park to Park Pass
if you want to access all of the shows, rides, restaurants, and attractions at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter youll need to visit both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is split between the two Universal Florida parks . Hogsmeade is in Universal Islands of Adventure, and Diagon Alley is in Universal Studios. Both Hogsmeade and Diagon Ally have unique shops, rides and experiences, so youll want to go to both. Youll also need a Park to Park pass to ride the Hogwarts Express!
You could visit both parks in one day, but youd miss a lot, and youd definitely be exhausted! On our last trip, we spent two days almost exclusively checking out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and we still didnt see and do everything in both areas!

Design And Special Effects
Judianna Makovsky served as the costume designer. She re-designed the Quidditch robes, having initially planned to use those shown on the cover of the American book, but deemed them “a mess.” Instead, she dressed the Quidditch players in “preppie sweaters, 19th-century fencing breeches and arm guards.” Production designer Stuart Craig built the sets at Leavesden Studios, including Hogwarts Great Hall, basing it on many English cathedrals. Although originally asked to use an existing old street to film the Diagon Alley scenes, Craig decided to build his own set, comprising Tudor, Georgian and Queen Anne architecture.
Columbus originally planned to use both animatronics and CGI animation to create the magical creatures, including Fluffy. Nick Dudman, who worked on Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, was given the task of creating the needed prosthetics, with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop providing creature effects. John Coppinger stated that the magical creatures that needed to be created had to be designed multiple times. The film features nearly 600 special effects shots, involving numerous companies. Industrial Light & Magic created Lord Voldemort‘s face on the back of Quirrell, Rhythm & Hues animated Norbert and Sony Pictures Imageworks produced the Quidditch scenes.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is a 2001 fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, based on J. K. Rowling‘s1997 novel of the same name.
