For Christmas Hubby and I brought the kids tickets to visit Warner Bros. Studio Tour London âThe Making of Harry Potter. Tickets cost us £150 for a family of four . As you know, we have been on a lot of family days out, and this was the most expensive single day out weâve ever had. Itâs difficult to find something comparable because this place is unique. Just to put it into context though, Legoland and Thorpe Park cost a similar amount of money but there are often promotions of one kind or another available. Madame Tussauds will cost you £92 for a family ticket, Paultonâs Park will cost you £118 and Willows Activity Farm £82 . So, is it worth all that money?
Dotted around there are lots of the original costumes worn in the films, plenty of props, information about the people involved in making the films and there are some hands on activities. If you want to pay £14 per photo there are a couple of photo ops such as playing Quidditch or taking a train ride. There are a couple of free photo ops as well though.

Don’t despair if there are no tickets available on the Harry Potter Studios Park website for the date you want – all is not lost!
Occasionally there are visitors who at the last minute make a change to their plans and decide to pay an additional £10 fee to change the date of their tickets depending on studio availability, so if you visit the website very often you may be able to find tickets available for a day that was previously listed as full.

Cafes And Eating Places At Warner Bros Studio Tour London
If you have any extra spare time before your tour begins, you can grab a drink in the Cafe, which also sells a range of snacks.
There are a number of cafes at the Warner Bros. Studio including The Chocolate Frog Cafe at the beginning of your tour, serving indulgent treats such as the specialty hot chocolate and ice cream.
There is also the Hub Cafe serving Starbucks drinks and snacks, and the Food Hall which includes breakfast, sandwiches and hot and cold meals, and lots from the bakery.
You can bring your own food with you but it must only be eaten in the Backlot area or outside picnic area. The Backlot Cafe is located halfway round the tour and it is here you can sample the ever-popular drink, Butterbeer!
Butterbeer is non -alcoholic and has quite a sweet froth to it, with a slight taste of butterscotch. In addition the Backlot also serves hot food â both childrens and adults – from a daily specials board, sandwiches and salads, snacks and hot and cold drinks.
You can choose to eat and drink inside or out, where there are nice views of the next section of the tour – the Knight Bus, Hogwarts Bridge, Godric’s Hollow and Privet Drive.

Try one of the tours that include a coach journey from central London. You can google but I think the usual suspects would be golden, viatours, premier .. Others will suggest no doubt.
If you look quickly there are tickets for 18.00 and 18.30 on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of that week, so I’d quickly book one of those as they are likely to sell out fast

Depends what OP means by ‘second week of July’. I took this to mean w/c the 6th, in which case it’s all sold out all day everyday.

As well as the sets and props there are also a few interactive things you can do at the Studio. For example, at Weasley’s Burrow there is plenty to do.
There is a wand choreography demonstration , featuring a video demonstrating correct wand moves very popular with the kids as they see themselves perform in front of two mirrors, much like the mirror of Erised.
If you wish to ride a broomstick you can pay extra , to perform in front of a green screen, on to which a marvellous Hogwarts background is super imposed, and as a memento take home with you your choice of photograph, DVD or HD USB. Outside you can also have your photo taken in the original Ford Anglia car, like Harry and Ron, and even wobble yourself over Hogwarts Bridge!
Throughout there are interactive touch-screen boards which play videos showing the cast and crew, or information about the making of the films, such as the ‘Marauder’s Map‘ board, and around the magnificent Hogwarts Castle.

Shuttle Bus
There are regular shuttle buses which run from Watford Junction to the Studio Tour with a duration of around 15 minutes. Buses run every 20 minutes, starting from 9.20am. Note that the last return Shuttle Bus back to Watford Junction departs the Studio Tour when the Tour closes. A single ticket costs 2.00, return ticket 2.50. Train
The nearest railway station to Studio Tour is Watford Junction. Direct services arrive there from both London Euston and Birmingham New Street . Oyster cards are valid between London Euston and Watford Junction.
