Daniel Radcliffe Reading Harry Potter

It’s been a long time since all the Harry Potter films were released, but the fascination with their magic and wizardry remains.

It’s been a long time since all the Harry Potter films were released, but the fascination with their magic and wizardry remains. Over the years, eight movies were released, all of which were based on a series of books by J.K. Rowling.

You’ve probably read the books: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Throughout all the movies, the titular character was portrayed by actor, Daniel Radcliffe. Heres what he has said about working on one of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood:

/15 He Said He Loved Being On The Set Of The Harry Potter Films

I loved being on set. I was good at being on set, Radcliffe told The Huffington Post. I loved learning how to be helpful. The greatest thing about being on set is you get to be part of a team. Thats the most special thing about it, and you get to feel like with everyone else you are making this thing together, and I loved that feeling straight away. I think that was definitely what made me a great fit for those films.

Better Men Than Me Have Changed Their Mind

Playing the same character for ten years for a movie franchise is very rare. But Harry Potter was able to have most of their actors return. But dont expect Radcliffe to return for another Potter movie.

I would be incredibly surprised but, you know, the other thing is, people have been saying, If she did , would you be in ? And at this point in time, No is the answer, Radcliffe said. Ive done it for 10 years and thats a long time. But Im also being careful to qualify that with, Better men than me have changed their mind.

Rowling calmed Harry by telling him there wont be any more books about Harry Potter.

She wrote back that she was so pleased with my performance in Harry Potter 7: Part 1 that as a reward, she promised to never write another book about Harry, Radcliffe said.

/15 He Believes That He Could Have Used An Acting Coach While Working On The Films

If we had a singing scene, we had a singing teacher come in. If we had a dance scene, a dance coach would come in, Radcliffe told Melvyn Bragg while appearing on The South Bank Show. We never had an acting coach in all the time we were there, and there were times we could have done with one. I know I could have.

/15 There Were Two Times When He Slightly Feared Filming The Goblet Of Fire

Behind the Scenes: Harry (Dan) just reading a book during the Battle of ...

There was a case I slightly feared about two times in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” but there wasn’t in this movie, Radcliffe said while speaking with Cinema Today Japan. But I’m always watched by very excellent staff regarding stunts who are very steady, so I think I didn’t have a dangerous experience this time.

Daniel Radcliffe Once Worried That Jk Rowling Was Writing Another Harry Potter Book

With the final Harry Potter film on the horizon, many wondered if Rowling had another sequel in her. According to MTV News, the author had an interview on Oprah where she didnt rule out writing another Potter book. Radcliffe appreciated Rowling giving fans something to look forward to, but he wouldve been shocked if she continued the series.

I think Jo is being very kind to a lot of people by giving them that little bit of hope and me that mild heart attack, Radcliffe said. But Ive been doing this for 10 years. A team of surgeons would be needed to reapply my jaw to my face if she did this.

He also shared that he was a bit tired of playing the character at the time.

I would be incredibly surprised but, you know, the other thing is, people have been saying, If she did , would you be in ? And at this point in time, No is the answer, he continued. Ive done it for 10 years and thats a long time. But Im also being careful to qualify that with, Better men than me have changed their mind.’

So when Radcliffe heard rumors that Rowling might have been writing another Harry Potter book, he couldnt help panic a little.

I was worried! I texted her, Radcliffe once told Celebuzz . I said, Look, is this true? Are you writing another book?!’

But Radcliffe joked that Rowling quickly set his worries at ease.

West End And Broadway Theatre Debut

In 2002, Radcliffe made his stage debut as a celebrity guest in a West End production of The Play What I Wrote, directed by Kenneth Branaghwho also appeared with him in the second Harry Potter film. He appeared in the film , an Australian family drama about four orphans that was shot in 2005 and released to theaters in mid-September 2007. On 13 April 2006, a portrait of Radcliffe by Stuart Pearson Wright was unveiled as part of a new exhibition opening at the National Theatre, before being moved to the National Portrait Gallery.

In 2007, Radcliffe co-starred with Carey Mulligan in My Boy Jack, a television drama film shown on ITV. The film received mostly positive reviews, with several critics praising Radcliffe’s performance as an eighteen-year-old who goes missing in action during a battle. Radcliffe stated, “For many people my age, the First World War is just a topic in a history book. But I’ve always been fascinated by the subject and think it’s as relevant today as it ever was.” Later that year, he published several poems under the pen name Jacob Gershona combination of his middle name and the Hebrew version of his mother’s maiden name Greshamin the underground fashion magazine Rubbish.

How Daniel Radcliffe Was Able To Quickly Move On From Harry Potter

Bidding farewell to the Harry Potter films was an emotional task for many of the cast and crew. And although Radcliffe had several projects lined up after the last Potter film, for a moment the Weird Al star worried about his life after the franchise.

There was just some very primal reaction, Radcliffe once said according to Reuters. When youve spent 10 years in a certain place with a group of people, suddenly that goes you do sort of go What am I going to do now? It was bizarre, because I knew I was doing a musical next year but that was all done, I knew that was going to happen, and I knew there was a definite option of one of about three films but at that moment I was really thinking What am I going to without all of you?’

But fortunately for Radcliffe, after shooting his final scene in Potter, he had another project he immediately needed to focus on.

That was, I think, the main feeling of slight bereavement, but then four hours later I was on a plane going to New York where I was doing the Tony Awards the next day, presenting, and I was reading the script for The Woman in Black and five months down the line Im half way through shooting it, so we move on, he said.

He made his film debut in The Tailor of Panama , an American film based on John le Carré‘s 1996 spy novel, which was a moderate commercial success.

Imagine being an 11-year-old boy and being told, Youre going to run around on crash mats and jump on trampolines. It was kind of heaven, Radcliffe told Deadline. I do feel any actor who has an interest in doing stunts and wants to be involved in that stuff as much as they can, you need to build up a relationship with your stunt double, or at least the stunt department. If you dont, theyll never know what youre capable of.
