Harry Potter Is Getting Something Huge In 2022

Even though the final book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” was released way back in 2007, the magical wizarding world of “Harry Potter” is still going strong. From the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movie franchise to the ever-expanding Potter-themed park at Universal Studios, there’s no shortage of ways for muggles to experience the magic of Harry’s world. And beginning in 2022, fans will have yet another “Harry Potter” experience to look forward to visiting.

Just in time for the 25th anniversary of the publication of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” by J.K. Rowling, “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” is launching at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in early 2022. According to a press release obtained by Looper, the exhibition will be an expansive “Harry Potter world experience complete with recreated movie sets, original costumes from the films, and interactive environments for visitors to explore.

While the exhibit is kicking off in Philadelphia, the goal is for this unique “Harry Potter” world event to travel the globe so fans around the world can celebrate the story’s landmark anniversary. As of writing, the opening date and future locales of the exhibit have not been confirmed, but the press release notes the tour will eventually make its way to Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well.

The Third Dumbledore Brother

The Fantastic Beasts franchise is changing the Harry Potter canon in significant ways. Many fans were confused when some of the reveals from Fantastic Beasts 2 seemed to directly change canon that was established in the Harry Potter books. One of the biggest revelations was that Credence Barebone is actually Aurelius Dumbledore, the third, youngest, and lost brother of Albus and Aberforth. This change makes little sense considering that so much of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was about Dumbledores family and all of the information about his family was already revealed. Also, the dates dont add up and Albus father would have been in Azkaban and his mother would have already been dead at the time of Aurelius birth.

Harry Potter’s Future Must Be Bigger Than Jk Rowling

To counter the diminishing commercial and critical returns of recent movies, Harry Potter must follow Star Wars’ path. New creative voices are needed.

Harry Potter must move beyond J.K. Rowling in order to remain relevant and viable into the future. The upcoming Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will see the cast of the film franchise reunite on screen for the first time since 2011s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two. Although several behind-the-camera stars will also feature in the special, including Chris Columbus, there has been no confirmation that J.K. Rowling, the Wizarding Worlds creator, will appear. However, despite her continued influence on the saga and expanded universe, the time has now come for Rowling to take a step back from her most famous creation in order for it to effectively flourish.

There is still huge adoration for the Harry Potter books and first eight films. The potential for the Wizarding World to reclaim its popularity still exists. However, time is running out as fans continue to turn their backs on the franchise. Harry Potter must be handed over to a new generation of creative voices so that it does not suffer permanent death. Removing Rowling from the creative process may ultimately be one of the most effective, if radical, ways of doing that.

Other Popular Jk Rowling Rumors

READ THIS! J.K. Rowlings Alternate Ending To HARRY POTTER AND THE ...

Look this wasnt the first or the last time that a rumor will likely be bandied about regarding a J.K. Rowling popular title or property. Theres a question that crops up every few months about whether or not we will ever get a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie, for example.

Back in September of 2019, J.K. Rowling posted a somewhat innocuous tweet about darkness coming from unexpected places.’

Fans latched onto the tweet, thinking it could be indicating a movie series specifically given Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is popular and features a timeline in which Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are all grown-ups with children at Hogwarts.

Then some outlets picked up the vague rumor. Ultimately, J.K. Rowling had to again go to social media to explain we wont be getting a movie based on her popular stage play, which has been running since 2016.

Right now, the Fantastic Beasts franchise is in full swing and there is just as much interest in the character J.K. Rowling started penning decades ago as ever. Many people in the fanbase would like to see more of the authors work both in book and movie form although the desire for more books may even supersede that of the desire for more movies, as The Crimes of Grindelwald did have a somewhat middling response. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what the future holds, but in the meantime, at least these particular rumors have been debunked.

Did Jk Rowling Copy The Lord Of The Rings

In a 2000 interview with Newsweek, Rowling spoke about her experiences working on the book and the upcoming film and mentioned some of her inspirations for writing Harry Potter. In the interview, she stated that she wasn’t much of a fan of fantasy, but she had read The Lord of the Rings when she was 14. However, she also added, “I didn’t read The Hobbit until I was in my 20s-much later. I’d started Harry Potter by then, and someone gave it to me…” At that point, many had assumed that Rowling had already read The Hobbit considering the genre of the story she was crafting but were surprised to learn the opposite.

Although the similarities between both stories would imply there was a degree of copying involved in the narrative, there’s also the concept of the hero’s journey, which is a narrative tool that has also helped skyrocket the Star Wars franchise to equal fame. Harry Potter is a great example of the hero’s journey, right down to the evil nemesis and wise old sage. Plus, since Rowling had never read The Hobbit unit after she started the series, it was unlikely she could have copied much without the full story already in her mind. As a result, the only real logic could be that any similarities were an unintentional nod to the iconic series and more so a testament to the classic tale of the hero’s journey, rather than that Rowling had intentionally copied The Lord of the Rings.

Many fans love Minerva McGonagall because she is a tough witch who is powerful and practiced in magic and a mentor to Harry and his friends. For some reason, information released on Pottermore went into a long backstory on McGonagall that mostly focused on her love life instead of her abilities as a witch. The Pottermore information went into detail on her romance with a Muggle and then a marriage that didnt work out. While including information about her romantic life isnt necessarily bad, fans thought it was weird that most of the new information about the character was about romance.

Con: Its Only Been Ten Years Since The Original Movie Series Ended

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. It’s hard to believe that a whole decade has passed since this movie series wrapped up in a spectacular two-part fashion. Whether or not you found the final film to be a fitting farewell for this expansive fantasy film franchise, the simple fact of the matter is that it’s just too soon to be thinking about redoing these stories even in a television format.

The original eight movies are still fresh in the minds of viewers everywhere. More time will need to pass if you want viewers to look at this proposed TV series with fresh eyes. Unless this show is set to be radically different, it’s just too soon to be thinking seriously about Harry Potter’s return to Hogwarts. Maybe in another decade or two, the idea will be enticing. But Harry Potter is an institution at this point. It’d be nearly impossible for this reboot to establish itself outside of its predecessor.

Will There Be Another Harry Potter Book 2021 Updates And Everything We Know So Far

Will there be another Harry Potter book? Fans have been asking themselves thi…

Will there be another Harry Potter book? Fans have been asking themselves this question since the seventh and final book of J. K. Rowling’s book series came out in 2007. Below, we provide the latest updates, considering what we know, what is a Harry Potter book, and whether there could, or should, be another.

It’s been more than a decade since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, ending the main book series. This, of course, wasn’t the end of the franchise. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child came out a few years after the original series ended, receiving mixed reviews, while the Pottermore website and several Hogwarts-related books such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ensured those who loved the original series that the fandom was here to stay.

When people were queuing overnight to be the first to get the newest Harry Potter books, you wouldn’t expect the fantasy series to not age well. Yet, as the world of writing and publishing moves forward, many fans have realized that while there are great elements about the books, they are not as progressive as initially imagined, for instance in their superficial portrayal of Hogwarts students from non-white backgrounds. Author J. K. Rowling’s transphobic views did not help in the slightest.

Con: A Reboot Might Feel Like A Cynical Attempt To Cash In On The Popularity Of The Franchise

J.K. Rowling is releasing 4 new Harry Potter books online

While one might want to believe that Warner Bros.’ plans to revisit the wizardry world of Hogwarts are based on a desire to expand and enrich this fertile franchise, the likely truth of the matter is that the studio is fervently chasing the money train here. In the age of cinematic universes, IP is king, and WB presumably wants to milk this magical series for all its worth. Especially as they’re looking to draw more attention to HBO Max, it sadly makes sense that WB is might want to revisit the property.

Ultimately, at the end of the day, money is the greatest driving force out there. If WB rebooted Harry Potter, it might seem solely based on their shareholders’ interests, which is pretty depressing.

Jk Rowling Explains Why Harry Potter 9 Will Never Happen

The Eighth Story is probably the last story in Harry Potters timeline, meaning that Harry Potter 9 wont be happening.

Speaking at the Broadway opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Sunday, J.K. Rowling said she doesnt expect to continue moving the story forward by creating a Harry Potter Book 9. The events in The Cursed Child penned by her, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany are as far as she ever envisioned the series going, she says.

I think we really have now told, in terms of moving the story forward, the story that I, in the back of my mind, wanted to tell, she said. I think its quite obvious, in the seventh book, in the epilogue, that Albus is the character Im most interested in. And I think weve done the story justice. So I think pushing it on to Harrys grandchildren really would be quite a cynical move, and Im not interested in doing that.

The Cursed Child picks up virtually right where the Epilogue in 2007s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows left off, with Albus Severus Potter and his soon-to-be friends heading off to Hogwarts. The story quickly jumps ahead a few years to a point where Albus and his lover friend Scorpius cause some serious trouble.

Rowling made the comments to Variety, and in the same report its revealed that the author has seen the show a whopping 16 times. Assuming she means Parts 1 and 2, that means shes spent 80 hours watching her baby on stage.

All Of The Changes From Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child added quite a few canon details that were… a lot. One of the most out there changes from this screenplay was the addition of Delphini, the daughter of Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange. This detail was one that many people scoffed at. Other changes from the screenplay included showing more about the next generation of the Potter, Weasley, and Malfoy kids as the play focuses on Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy.

    Upcoming Harry Potter Movies

Fantastic Beasts was originally discussed as a planned trilogy, but then in November 2016, J.K. Rowling announced that the story would be spread out over five films. Producer David Heyman confirmed to us that they’re aiming to release one film for the series every two years. While that was the case for the 2018 release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, it appears that the third movie in the franchise wont see the light of day until at least fall 2021, but even that window is up in the air due to the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic. Anyway, heres what we know so far

    Fantastic Beasts 3

Production on Fantastic Beasts 3 was originally supposed to get underway in summer 2019, but then shooting was delayed to fall 2019 before shifting once more to spring 2020 so that J.K. Rowling could work on the script of the movie that star Dan Fogler said was going to be bigger than the first two combined. Production on the third movie in the franchise that will eventually consist of five titles got underway in early 2020 but was almost immediately put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The cast and crew eventually returned in September 2020, but the production had another setback a few months later when Johnny Depp was asked to resign prompting the hiring of Mads Mikkelsen to portray the villainous Grindelwald. The movie is currently scheduled to land in theaters on July 15, 2022.
