As guests wait in line, they walk the familiar halls of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, past Dumbledore’s office, the Room of Requirement, and Gryffindor Common Room.
This motion simulation ride takes you high above the castle grounds on a thrilling journey with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Guests must be 48″ tall for this unique adventure!

Universal constructed Hogsmeade first, and the ride designers plotted a dark ride unlike anything that Muggles had never witnessed before.
The entire experience starts in the line queue. Guests literally enter the real-world representation of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
So, the attraction delivers two experiences at once. Harry Potter fans get to wander this castle-like structure built into the tall rocks.

What To Know About The Ride
Yes, the ride vehicles are on a roller coaster track, and the ride is, technically, a roller coaster. But Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts is overall a fairly tame ride. For example, there are no inversions , so you don’t need to worry about suddenly finding yourself hanging in some uncomfortable positions.
There is one decent drop near the beginning of the ride. Official stats about its height or length are unknown , but estimates put it around 30 feet tall. Another note about the initial dropand be forewarned that we are moving into spoiler territory here: The stationary train slowly tilts downward, probably about 45 degrees, before releasing into a darkened tunnel for the drop. That raises the anticipation, and the pulse rates, of passengers.
The fear of the unknown helps to amp up the psychological thrills. But know this: The drop is relatively short, and the train slows to a crawl at the bottom as it positions in front of the first of a series of enormous screens. In June 2010, Universal Orlando Resort opened their newest attraction The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
And the verdict? It does not disappoint. People of all ages are raving about the detail that the designers put into the area. Its being hailed as the best theme park addition in history! Harry Potter fans are coming in droves to enter this new attraction. On opening day, crowds gathered outside for hours in advance just to be among the first to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in person.
You really feel like you are in the wand store where Harry and his special wand found each other. What an experience! Even though the crowds are usually dense and the lines are long, dont get discouraged. If you are a Harry Potter fan, or even a casual fan, this is worth the wait. Universal has done its best to make the waiting experience as entertaining as possible. There is really a lot to see while moving through the lines.

The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley
If you are staying at any of the on-site Universal hotels, you can get into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter one hour earlier than general admission.
Which park opens early varies by day and sometimes both parks open early. The front desk agent should give you this information at check-in or you can check the Universal Orlando website for the most up-to-date information.
No matter which park is opening early, plan to arrive at the front gates at least 15 – 30 minutes before the Early Park Admission opening time. It’s the only way to beat the crowds and make the most of your extra time.
Only certain attractions open during Early Park Admission, but this typically includes all of the Wizarding World attractions. The ones you will most likely want to knock out are Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Islands of Adventure and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios Florida.
For Hagrid’s, head to Islands of Adventure, take a right after passing through Port of Entry and head toward Seuss Landing. Universal team members will be on hand to scan your hotel keycard and allow you to go deeper into the park. Continue through Seuss Landing to The Lost Continent and you should see team members directing you toward the start of the line for Hagrid’s.
Be careful not to overshoot and walk past the somewhat hidden entrance to Diagon Alley. When you see an opening in a brick wall, you know youve found it.
Which Park Has The Most Harry Potter Rides
Another popular question we receive is, which park has the most Harry Potter rides? And, Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando has the most Harry Potter rides with it being home to four rides. These four rides are Flight of the Hippogriff, The Hogwarts Express, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Its also important to note that technically both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida share the Hogwarts Express.

The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Schedule
Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure are open 365 days a year. Opening hours usually start at 9:00 am and closing times vary. Arrive early and try to be the first person. If they open at 9 am, wait in line at 8:30 a.m. Make sure that your admission ticket is ready beforehand. You do not need to book a Universal hotel, but youll want to apply for the Universal Studios packages, which include accommodations in Orlando hotels, and vacation homes rentals.
How Many Days Do You Need For Harry Potter World
Plan to spend parts of at least two days at the Harry Potter theme parks in Orlando if you want the complete experience. Arrive early, try to see and do as much as you can before the crowds fill in, then enjoy the other parts of Universal Studios Florida and Universals Islands of Adventure for parts of the afternoon before returning to the Harry Potter theme parks for the evening. After all, you havent fully experienced Harry Potter world until youve seen Hogwarts Castle lit up at night.

To honest, the food doesnt make much of a difference from one Wizarding World to the next. In the Universal Hogsmeade vs Diagon Alley debate, dining wont be much of a factor.
At Universal Studios,you have the Leaky Cauldron the small pub and inn where Harry spent several weeks one summer. They offer traditional British fare plus kids meals .

The Time Of Year Youre Visiting
Depending on the time of year youre visiting the crowd levels inside the park may vary.
The best time to visit Universal Studios Orlando for lower crowd levels is between January and May and September .
Alternatively, if you cant afford to be flexible as to the time of year in which you visit the park then try to avoid Fridays through to Sundays and instead visit between Monday and Thursday.
While smaller crowd levels often mean youll spend less time waiting for the parks most popular rides, weve still gone during peak-crowd levels and had a fantastic time!
