Harry Potter The Fifth Movie

Don't Miss

Harry Potter And The Half

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (3/5) Movie CLIP – Fireworks (2007) HD
Actor
Ginny Weasley 15-16 years old

The sixth movie in the Harry Potter saga started filming in September 2007 for a 2009 release, and David Yates reprises his role as the director.

It almost doubled its budget from the Order of the Phoenix with 250 million dollars, managing to collect 934 million dollars worldwide.

Harry finds a mysterious Potions book from the self-proclaimed Half-Blood Prince in this release. He continues his training with Dumbledore to find further information about Voldemort and how to defeat him.

The extended production times required for these darker and more complex films means that the age gap between the actors and the characters they play begins to widen considerably in the cases of older actors like Rupert Grint and Tom Felton.

Daniel Radcliffe was 18/19 years old while filming the Half Blood Prince, while his character is 16 years old for most of the film.

Rupert Grint was already 19/20 years old while filming the movie, while his character is also meant to be only 16/17 years old.

Hermione Granger is 17 years old in Half-Blood Prince, and Emma Watson was also 17/18 years old.

Tom Felton was already 20/21 years old for Half-Blood Prince when Draco Malfoy is only 16/17. That made him 4 years older than the fictional character.

Both Bonnie Wright and Evanna Lynch turned 17 during the filming of the Half Blood Prince, while their characters were still meant to be 15/16 years old.

Crude Or Profane Language

Ron is still fond of the expression bloody h, but he tones it down to a couple uses this time. Bloody is also paired with idiot.Good lord and for gods sake pop up, as do blimey, nutter and b-gger off. Slurs and insults include stupid,freak,hag,half-breed,half-blood and mudblood.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 $9526m

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is adapted from the novel of the same name, but it splits the narrative into two films. The penultimate movie revolves around the trio hunting the Horcruxes and sets the stage for an even darker finale. Despite the premise being built after six consecutive films in the franchise, the movie lost the top rank to Toy Story 3 . Domestically, it ranked seventh behind Avatar, Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man 2, The Twilight, and Inception.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

The final movie so far in the Harry Potter world hit theaters in 2018. This was the second movie in the Fantastic Beasts series. While Newt Scamander was still the main protagonist, there was a lot here to set up a battle mentioned in the original Harry Potter movies between Albus Dumbledore and his greatest rival, Gellert Grindelwald.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix Summary

KINGSLEY

There’s so much to cover in this movieclose to 900 pages of Potter-y goodnessthat it just hits the ground running. And so will we.

Harry and his cousin, Dudley are attacked by dementors almost right away. Harry manages to fight them off but is then informed that he’s expelled from Hogwarts.

Mo’ magic, mo’ problems. Ermake that mo’ “using magic outside of Hogwarts property while underage,” mo’ problems.

Later, Harry finds out that he’ll actually get a trial before being kicked out of schoolsome wizards come and whisk him away to a safe house in London. They’re from the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society that Dumbledore formed back when Voldemort was in power. Harry also finds out that the Ministry of Magic has been covering up the truth about Voldemort’s return. Crooked politicians exist even in the wizard world, we guess.

At Harry’s trial, Dumbledore successfully defends our favorite boy wizard, the charges are dropped, andsurprise, surpriseHarry Potter returns for his fifth year at Hogwarts. There, he meets the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge. It’s obvious that Umbridge and the Ministry of Magic don’t want Hogwarts students learning any actual defensive spells.

When Harry protests that they might need to learn how to defend themselves against dark magic because, well, you know, Voldemort is back, Umbridge punishes him by making him carve words into his own hand with a torturous quill.

Yeah, she’s not a nice lady.

Don’t Miss: What’s The Third Harry Potter Movie

Is It Any Good

With this gripping film, there’s no longer a doubt that Harry Potter — the character, as well as the film series — has grown up. In the dark and captivating adventure of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the teens face increasing peril, and the thrills intensify right up to the explosive ending. The gravity of the situation takes a front seat, with bureaucratic intrigue and boot-camp magic lessons overshadowing the brief romantic interest between Harry and Cho . Sure, Harry finally enjoys his first kiss, but the infatuation doesn’t last.

And forget about Quidditch, because director David Yates doesn’t include any game sequences in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix — or much of the Hogwarts social scene outside of the clandestine magic lessons. Those who haven’t read the novels might hope for a Ron and Hermione hook-up, but apparently that’s just not in the books … yet, anyway.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

The movie that started it all came in 2001, four years after the publication of the novel. In the film, a young boy named Harry Potter lived with his emotionally abusive aunt and uncle until he learned his parents were great wizards, and he received an invitation to begin studying at Hogwarts, a prestigious wizarding school.

Daniel Radcliffe took on the role of Harry Potter at the young age of 12, along with fellow child actors Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. The cast was rounded out by some of Britain’s top acting talent, and the film went on to an impressive $975 million at the box office for director Chris Columbus.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 $131b

The concluding movie of the decade-spanning franchise finally ended with the appreciation it deserved. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was the only film from the franchise to enter the holy club of $1 billion in box office gross. Moreover, the box office figures speak volumes of its woven magic domestically and worldwide it topped the chart, stepping over Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides . Helmed by Yates, the film puts an end to the dark sorcery of Tom Riddle and dishes out a happy ending for the characters, forever closing their chapters for the audience.

Differences From The Book

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Official Trailer)

At 766 pages in the British edition and 870 in the American edition, Order of the Phoenix is the longest book in the Harry Potter series, however the film is the second shortest. Screenwriter Michael Goldenberg described his task to cut down the novel as searching for “the best equivalent way to tell the story. My job was to stay true to the spirit of the book, rather than to the letter”. Goldenberg said that Rowling told him, the producers, and Yates that “she just wanted to see a great movie, and gave permission to take whatever liberties felt needed to take to translate the book into a movie she would love”. Cutting down the book to meet the time frame of the film, Goldenberg explained, became “clearer when figured out that the organising principle of the screenplay was to narrate Harry’s emotional journey”. He and Yates “looked for every opportunity to get everything could in there. And where couldn’t, to sort of pay homage to it, to have it somewhere in the background or to feel like it could be taking place off-screen”.

Rita Skeeter, the journalist played by Miranda Richardson in Goblet of Fire, was also removed. In the book, Hermione blackmails her into writing an article that supports Harry as the rest of the Wizarding world denies his claims. Richardson noted that “it’s never gonna be the book on film, exactly. … They’ll take certain aspects from the book and make it something that they hope is going to be commercial and that people want to see”.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

Actor
11-12 years old

For the second installment of the series, production spanned between November 2001 and July 2002.

Chris Columbus remained as the director for The Chamber of Secrets, and with a budget of 125 million dollars, it reached 878 million dollars in the grossed box office.

Here we get a better glimpse into Voldemorts past and the strange incidents occurring inside Hogwarts.

As production followed quickly from the first film, the actors remain consistently close to the ages of the characters they are portraying.

In 2002, Daniel Radcliffe was the same age as Harry, both 12 years old for most of the Chamber of Secrets film, as Harrys birthday is always one of the first things to happen in each Harry Potter installment.

Rupert Grint continues to be a year older than his character. The actor was 13/14 during filming while his character was 12/13 years old.

Emma Watson remains one year younger than her character during the Chamber of the Secrets filming. Emma is 11/12 years old, while Hermione is already 13 at the start of the school year as she has a September birthday.

Tom Felton has two years of difference with Draco since he is 14/15 years old during production, while his character is just 12/13 years old.

Given how he is in Harrys generation, Neville Longbottom is 12/13 years old for the Chamber of Secrets. And just like Daniel, Matthew Lewis was also 12/13 years old during production.

The ‘harry Potter’ Reunion Special Once Again Highlights The Myriad Ways The Franchise Hates Hufflepuffs

Its hard to imagine anyone besides Emma Watson playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films. But during HBO Maxs reunion special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, the actress revealed that she considered quitting the franchise before filming the fifth movie.

You were considering pulling out, Ive never really spoken to you about that, actor Rupert Grint said to Watson at one point.

She replied: Yeah. I think I was scared. I dont know if you ever felt like it got to a tipping point where you were like, this is kind of forever now. Watson added that the fame thing had finally hit home in a big way.

Later in the special, David Yates , said that when he was brought onboard to helm Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Warner Bros. and producer David Heyman cautioned him that the actress wasnt sure if she wanted to reprise her role as Hermione.

As actor Tom Felton pointed out, Watson also had to shoulder the responsibility of being the franchises sole female lead from a young age. People definitely forget what she took on and how gracefully she did it, he said during the reunion. Dan and Rupert, they had each other. I had my cronies, whereas Emma was not only younger, she was by herself.

Ultimately, though, Watson said that no one had to convince her to stay. The fans genuinely wanted you to succeed and we all genuinely have each others backs, she said. How great is that?
