According to an archived version of the Rumours section of her website, J.K. Rowling was asked to play Lilys part in the Mirror of Erised scenes during Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I really am not cut out to be an actress, even one who just has to stand there and wave. I would have messed it up somehow, she wrote.
Even though Lily was a very minor character in the movies, mainly seen in reflections, photographs, and memories, she did appear in every one of the Harry Potter films at various ages. Aside from having no acting ability, J.K. Rowling probably didnt want to put in the time commitment or become just another recast in the Harry Potter films.

The Death Of Harry Potter
The scene where Harry Potter actually dies happened in the seventh book, Deathly Hallows, during the Battle of Hogwarts. After a lot of fighting and several losses, Harry decided to accept Voldemorts previous offer to give himself up to save the lives of his friends and colleagues. He went on to the Forbidden Forest, where Voldemort was waiting for him with his Death Eaters.
As they faced each other, Harry Potter gave himself up without a fight, an act Voldemort punished by casting the Killing Curse at Harry.
Harry Potter fell to the ground and awoke in a place called the Limbo. There, he met his old mentor, Albus Dumbledore, who apologized for his behavior and explained his actions. Dumbledores spirit further explained to Harry that he wasnt actually dead, but could choose to stay there or return to the real world.
Dumbledore explained that due to the fact that Voldemort used Harrys blood to resurrect , the two were intrinsically bound, which protected Harry from being killed by Voldemort.
Also, after the incident in Godrics Hollow, Harry unwillingly and unknowingly became a Horcrux, since he had a part of Voldemorts soul inside him Harry met that crippled piece in the Limbo.

What Happened To Harry Potters Grandparents
According to J.K. Rowling, all of Harrys grandparents were dead by the time he was born. This is why he was handed off to the Dursley home, where his life became very depressing for several years. The abuse and neglect he endured from the Dursley family was trauma-inducing for Harry at such a young age.
What many Harry Potters fans are realizing is that his parents, Lily and James, were only 18 years old when they got married and they had Harry when they were 20. Voldemort came into the picture wreaking havoc and attempting to kill infant-aged Harry not too long after.
This means Harrys parents were 21 years old at the time they were killed. Since Lily was such a young mom, her parents likely werent too old either. Its safe to assume they were 20-30 years older than her which means they were in the age range of their forties to fifties.
Death due to old age is possible but not likely. James parents died in a manner thats easy to understand since we know his pureblood wizarding family refused to become part of the Death Eaters group. With their prominent last name and refusal to cooperate, they naturally became somewhat of a target. The death of Lilys parents is far more difficult to understand.

Who Are Lily And James
But who are actually Lily and James Potter?
Both of them are students of Gryffindor at Hogwarts and also the members of the Order of the Phoenix. They are loyal to Dumbledore and fight against Voldemort.
James Potter is a pure blood wizard from a couple Euphemia and Fleamont Potter. When he gets into Gryffindor, he becomes best friends with Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew.
James does not have a good relationship with Severus Snape, even Snape hates him. However, Snape really loves Lily, and therefore still wants to protect Harry.

Jk Rowlings Response To Harry Potters Grandparents
J.K. Rowling hasnt said much on the topic of Harrys grandparents. This includes both the Evans and the Potters.
To be more specific, she has confirmed that the Potters died of Dragon Pox within days of each other. But she doesnt delve more into if they received Dragon Pox as a means of murder or if it were accidental.
She has said little on the Evans. Simply put, she suggests that they died a muggle death. This could mean natural causes or an accident or anything your imagination can muster when you think of muggle death.

Harry Potter And The Half
Voldemort does not appear in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, although his presence and actions are felt: he once again declares war, and begins to rise to power once more. He murders Amelia Bones of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and begins to target members of the Order of the Phoenix, including Emmeline Vance.
Rowling uses several chapters as exposition to establish Voldemorts backstory. In a series of flashbacks, using the pensieve as a plot device, she reveals that Voldemort was the son of the witch Merope Gaunt and a Muggle called Tom Riddle. Riddle abandoned Merope before their childs birth, soon after which Merope died. After living in an orphanage, young Riddle met Dumbledore, who told him he was a wizard and arranged for him to attend Hogwarts. Riddle was outwardly a model student, but was in reality a psychopath who took sadistic pleasure in using his powers to harm and control people. He eventually murdered his father and grandparents as revenge for abandoning him. The book also discusses Riddles hatred of Muggles, his obsession with Horcruxes, and his desire to split his soul to achieve immortality. Rowling stated Voldemorts conception under the influence of a love potion symbolises the coercive circumstances under which he was brought into the world.
Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone
Harry first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Starting in 1981, when Harry was just one year old, his parents, James and Lily, were murdered by the most powerful Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort . He attempted to kill Harry too, but was unsuccessful and only left a lightning bolt shaped scar on Harry’s forehead. Voldemort’s body was destroyed, but his soul was not. He killed Harry’s parents, and then he tried to kill Harryhe tried to curse him…. Harry has to find out, before we find out. And for some mysterious reason, the curse didn’t work on Harry. So he’s left with this lightning-bolt shaped scar on his forehead, and the curse rebounded upon the evil wizard who has been in hiding ever since”.

Why Did Dumbledore Meet Sybill Trelawney
The mystery around the deaths of James and Lily Potter started at a small pub called Hogs Head in the wizarding village of Hogsmeade. Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was on the hunt for a new Divination professor. He met with Sybill Trelawney at Hogs Head to interview her for the position. Sybill Trelawney was the great-granddaughter of Cassandra Trelawney, a famous respected Seer in the wizarding community.
During the interview with Trelawney, Dumbledore was rather unimpressed by her performance and was about to leave when Trelawney shocked him by going into a trance. While in her trance, Trelawney made a prophecy about the Dark Lord Voldemort that was set to change the lives of the Potters and Voldemort himself forever.
James Family Has Ties To The American Wizarding World
Earlier this year, J.K. Rowling released a series of writings on Pottermore exploring the American Wizarding World and its own school of witchcraft and wizardry. Among all the information, which was preparing fans for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, was a key connection to the Potter family. In the piece about The Magical Congress of the United States , a list of the original twelve American Aurors was revealed. Among those twelve was a wizard named Abraham Potter, who lived in the US around the turn of the 18th Century.
Although it could easily be dismissed as a coincidence — Potter isn’t a super uncommon name, after all — it’s become safe to say that there is no such thing as coincidence when it comes to J.K. Rowling’s writing. According to Rowling, Abraham Potter’s “distant relationship to the famous Harry Potter would be uncovered by eager genealogists centuries later.” At some point, the Potter family tree must have branched off into America from Great Britain, like so many other Muggle families did during that time. Since there are five Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films in the works spanning from 1926-1945, it’s possible we’ll get to see James Potter’s parents, Fleamont and Euphemia, on screen at some point.

Harry is made to look like an attention-seeking liar, and Dumbledore a trouble-maker. A new character is introduced when the Ministry of Magic appoints Dolores Umbridge as the latest Hogwarts’ Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor . Because the paranoid Ministry suspects that Dumbledore is building a wizard army to overthrow them, Umbridge refuses to teach students real defensive magic. She gradually gains more power, eventually ousting Dumbledore and seizing control of the school. As a result, Harry’s increasingly angry and erratic behaviour nearly estranges him from Ron and Hermione.
Rowling says she put Harry through extreme emotional stress to show his emotional vulnerability and humanitya contrast to his nemesis, Voldemort. ” a very human hero, and this is, obviously, a contrast, between him, as a very human hero, and Voldemort, who has deliberately dehumanised himself. And Harry, therefore, did have to reach a point where he did almost break down, and say he didn’t want to play any more, he didn’t want to be the hero any more and he’d lost too much. And he didn’t want to lose anything else. So that Phoenix was the point at which I decided he would have his breakdown.”

Harry Potter, the boy who lived. How old is he? He cant be more than 25 now, right? He was 17 when the series ended with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but who remembers what year that came out? Its turns out that Harry Potter turned 35 Friday. As Potterheads know, he also shares his birthday with English author J.K. Rowling, the creator of the beloved book-turned-movie series.
To explain why hes 35 Friday, we take a trip back in time. The first Harry Potter book was published in June 1997, and Rowling said Harry was 10 at that time. However, Rowling started to write the series seven years earlier, in 1990, which means Harry was born in 1980. The author wrote the novels to be set in the 90s, a fact most fans dont know since they became widely popular in the 2000s, and even more so after the first movie debuted in 2001.
Rowling gave an update on the wizard last year, in case anyone doubted Harrys real age. She took to Pottermore, an interactive website for Potterheads, which allows people to submerge themselves into the world of witchcraft and wizardry without leaving their houses.

The Tragedy In Godrics Hollow
According to a prophecy recited by Professor Sibyl Trelawney , Harry Potter was named as the person who would stop Lord Voldemort.
The prophecy was made in 1980 and in 1981, Lord Voldemort, the leader of the Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War, went to Godrics Hollow to murder Harry Potter, after having found out about the prophecy.
Despite being protected by his parents, James and Lily Potter, Harry soon met Lord Voldemort, as he killed his parents with ease and approached the child.
