Richard Harris The First Man Behind Harry Potter’s Dumbledore Died In 2002

The wizarding world of Harry Potter would not be nearly the place it is without Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. He guides Harry throughout his time at the school and beyond in his fight against Voldemort, and he delivers some of the best one-liners. The actor who originally filled the role in the first two Harry Potter films, Richard Harris, died after fighting an aggressive form of Hodgkin’s disease, and, as noted by Entertainment Weekly, had a fighting spirit that was hard to come by.

Chris Columbus, the director behind the first two Harry Potter films, said in a press conference just hours before Harris died that the actor had every intention of coming back to set as Dumbledore that despite his illness, he was ready to bring the wizarding professor back to life. “He did threaten to kill me if I recast ,” Columbus said during the press conference. “I cannot even repeat what he said. He still has got that fight inside of him.”

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the last film that Harris appeared in as Dumbledore. He was later replaced by actor Michael Gambon.

Davis’ first acting role was as Wicket in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” when he was 13 years old, and he continued his successful acting career with notable roles in films like “Willow” , the “Leprechaun” franchise , and “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” .

Is Dumbledore Really Dead

Readers of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were dismayed by the apparent death of Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, Chief Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, and Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. He is a crucial character in the Harry Potter books and in the development of Harry Potter himself. The wizard seems to have an unerring instinct for sources of danger, and wisely guides the other characters through perilous situations.

Dumbledore’s death scene on top of the astronomy tower and subsequent funeral did leave many readers wondering if he was actually, in fact, dead. Many readers feel that a wizard with the strength and powers of Dumbledore could not possibly be killed, and may be faking his own death for reasons of his own which would become apparent in the next book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Much to the disappointment of readers, J.K. Rowling has said that Dumbledore is in fact dead. Since he has mentioned that to the well organized wizard, death is but the next great adventure, perhaps his death is not as awful as readers think it is.

Why Was Dumbledores Death Such A Shock

The headmaster of Hogwarts had been established as one of the most powerful characters in the wizarding world. He had also acted as a mentor to Harry since the young wizards arrival at school. He had guided Harry into the world of magic and helped him uncover his family history as well as the truth behind the return of the dark wizard that Dumbledore insisted on calling by his actual name: Voldermort.

From the outset, we knew that Albus Dumbledore was more than just headmaster of Hogwarts. As the books progressed, we saw his plots and plans develop along with Harry and his friends. It was Dumbledore who assembled two generations of the Order of the Phoenix to combat the dark wizards Death Eaters.

In the build-up to Half-Blood Princes publication, there were rumors that one of the series main characters was going to die. While many correctly predicted Dumbledores demise, few expected events to unfold the way they did. But Rowlings tightly-plotted novels laid hints before and after Dumbledores death that proved it was unavoidable.

The Actor Who Voiced Harry Potter’s Kreacher Timothy Bateson Died In 2009

House elves are important figures in the Harry Potter series they always seem to know everything and are incredibly loyal and we can all agree one of the elves who made the biggest impact on the series was Kreacher, who served Harry Potter himself. Kreacher was voiced by the legendary British actor Timothy Bateson, who sadly died in 2009. As noted by The Guardian, Bateson was known for his roles in films including All or Nothing, Oliver Twist, and Waiting for Godot. He was also a star of the stage, who performed in a number of musicals, dramas, and comedies in London’s West End theater district.

Kreacher’s impact on the Harry Potter series can be summed up in this quote, which Dumbledore once said about the house elf: “Kreacher is what he has been made by wizards, Harry. Yes, he is to be pitied. … He was forced to do Sirius’s bidding … And whatever Kreacher’s faults, it must be admitted that Sirius did nothing to make Kreacher’s lot easier.” Note to self, treat your house elves with the respect they deserve.

What Happened To Hagrid In The Battle Of Hogwarts

During Harrys last school year, Hagrid returned to Hogwarts at the request of now headmaster Severus Snape. He returned as the gatekeeper and professor of the Care of Magical Beings.

He also had the task of accompanying students who were assigned detention to the Forbidden Forest. Although this may seem a bit cruel it was likely done at the request of Severs Snape since Forbidden Forest tasks with Hagrid were much safer than detentions with Amycus and Alecto Carrow.

Hagrid continued to support Harry and talk about him with other students. He often hosted parties for other students in his hut, to comfort them and lift their spirits amidst everything happening at Hogwarts and in the wizarding world in general.

During one of these parties, he was almost arrested because the meeting was branded as a Harry Potter support party. Since his beliefs made him a constant target and with the added incident Hagrid had to run away.

Due to this event, Hagrid had to go into hiding. It is not clear where he went he most likely hid in the mountains or met up with his half-brother Grawpy. His escape was reported by Lee Jordan via Potterwatch radio.

He remained in hiding all the way until before the battle of Hogwarts when he came out of hiding to prevent his Acromantulas from getting hurt since they escaped the Forbidden Forest and were wandering all over Hogwarts grounds and climbing the castle walls.

What Youll Find At Dobbys Burial Site

Who died in real life from Harry Potter?

I wasnt too sure what to expect when I got here. Of course, I knew that Shell Cottage wouldnt be there.

But, what I found in its place was so touching. It was like a portal that transports you into the Wizarding World all over again!

What started out as just a few pebbles left at this location a couple of years ago has now transformed into a HUGE memorial. Its like a Dobby shrine.

There were beautiful hand-painted pebbles all with loving messages.

They said things likeR.I.P Dobby,Master has given Dobby a sock, Forever a Free Elf, Such a beautiful place to be with friendsand Harry Potter Forever.

There were even socks left here and other gifts! Some kind fan had even made a crucifix for the gravesite. It was incredible to see and quite moving.

I could have spent hours looking at all the pretty paintings and reading the messages that had been left. Plus, the views from up here are breathtaking.

Anyone is free to bring their own pebbles, socks and gifts to Dobbys grave. So, dont be shy! Why not prepare something for your visit?

Leaving something for Dobby! So many lovely offerings!

The Elder Wand Was His All Along

No matter how many horcruxes Harry and his friends successfully destroyed, Voldemort was still a more powerful wizard than him, so when Harry arose from the dead to pick a final fight with the Dark Lord, he was handily overtaken by Voldemort. But Voldemort still couldnt kill him a second time with the wand, even after hed taken ownership from Snape. Why? Well, it turned out that Snape wasnt the one whod gained control of the Elder Wand in the first place, so it didnt pass to Voldemort upon Snapes execution by Nagini.

Sure, Snape had killed Dumbledore and taken possession of the wand in Half-Blood Prince, but it was Draco whod originally disarmed Dumbledore, and thus received the allegiance of the Elder Wand. Then, when Harry disarmed him in their subsequent duel, it was Harry whod laid claim to the Elder Wands efficacy. So, while the Elder Wand was successfully used to strike its master down in the forest, when Harry had thoroughly surrendered himself, he still wasnt disarmed of the wand in that battle. So, it remained loyal to Harry, instead of Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to cast a death curse on him a second time, this time against its owners wishes, it was a no-go. This is how the fight got dragged out long enough for
