She Nearly Had A Sister
When Harry and Ron first met Hermione on the Hogwarts Express, she told them: Nobody in my familys magic at all. While its possible she meant her extended family, there may be a reason Hermione didnt say: My parents arent magic. In a 2004 interview with the BBC on World Book Day, J.K. Rowling revealed the following:
I always planned that Hermione would have a younger sister but shes never made an appearance and somehow it feels like it might be too late now.
The Bluebell Flames Spell
As we discover in Chamber of Secrets, conjuring up portable, water-proof fires was a speciality of Hermiones. While she used this skill for setting Snapes robes alight, brewing Polyjuice Potion and keeping people warm, we also think itd be mighty useful for aesthetic reasons. Pretty blue waterproof flames? Imagine how well theyd go down in the decor of one of our many, many parties. Put them in one of those jars Hermione occasionally carried them in, and theyd make fine table decorations.
And Was A Bit Tricky For Some Readers
Did you have trouble pronouncing Hermione’s name when you first read the books? Well, we werent the only ones. In an interview from 1999, J.K. Rowling admitted that quite a lot of people ask her how you actually say it. Eventually, in Goblet of Fire, Hermione confirmed the phonetics of her name once and for all for Viktor Krum . And no, it wasnt pronounced Herm-own-ninny.

Conjure Flowers From Nothing
It was possible for witches and wizards to create plants out of thin air, which was presumably an easier task than summoning living animals.
Hermione demonstrated the ability to create a specific kind of flower during the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, as she created a wreath of roses for the grave of James Potter and Lily Potter when she visited it with Harry. The extent of the flower summoning spell is unknown, but it can seemingly create any kind of bloom that the caster desires, while also taking any shape that is required.
Lacks A Sense Of Humor
Hermione is very easily angered regarding her studies. Her desire to always be the best at everything makes her seem stiff and she comes off as too serious. In fact, she has such a severe strain on her sense of humor to the point she has none. We can’t recall many times where she laughed out of humor, as opposed to sarcastic bitterness.

She Isnt Open To Other Peoples Ideas
In one movie, she completely dismisses Lunas ideas of magical creatures and she even goes as far as calling them illogical. She then takes it a step further by mercilessly mocking Luna and calling her a loony. Hermione will dismiss anything in a heartbeat if she doesnt know or cant comprehend it.
How Can Two Muggles Have A Wizard/witch
Squibs are muggles who were born into a wizarding family. They are pretty rare. Squibs, as people born to at least one parent with magical abilities, are the opposite of muggle-born wizards and witches.
Muggle-born wizards and witches can come from squibs. It is like magic skipped a generation. Wizards and witches are sometimes the descendants of squibs and muggles. This is how muggles can have a child with magical abilities.
They have the awareness and knowledge of the wizarding world but are just unable to use magic on their own. They can, however, see the magic when muggles cant. They are on the inside but cannot use its gifts.
One of those examples is Argus Filch. The attitude towards squibs is not a very positive one, since many wizards consider their children traitors if born as squibs. The Ministry does not even keep records of their birth.
They are mostly encouraged to assimilate into the muggle world instead of living as disrespected and unprotected citizens in the wizarding world. They are not to be mistaken for obscurials who are wizards and witches with suppressed magical abilities.

Why Does Hermione Not Get Any Kind Of Punishment For Casting Magic Outside Hogwarts
In Harry Potter the Chamber of Secrets, Hermione casts a spell to repair Harry’s glasses. She also does the same in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. According to Magic Law, underage wizards are not allowed to do magic outside of Hogwarts. We also saw that Harry gets punishment for doing the same. Then why does Hermione not get any kind of punishment for casting magic outside Hogwarts?

There’s a choice of possibilities… According to Dumbledore, the Ministry of Magic can detect when magic has been done near an underage wizard, but not who actually performed it. So on a train full of underage wizards it’s perhaps just too difficult to enforce the rule.
More likely, the Hogwarts Express is deemed an extension of school property, so it’s except from the rule. The rule is mainly there to protect the secrecy of the wizarding world anyway, and once you’re on the Hogwarts Express the secret is pretty much already out.
Things Hermione Can Do
Harry Potter would never have succeeded in his battle against Lord Voldemort without the help of Hermione Granger and her aptitude for magic.
Harry Potter entered the Wizarding World with all kinds of benefits, such as the fame that comes with being the one responsible for defeating Voldemort, a vault full of his parent’s gold, being descended from an ancient wizarding family, having all kinds of allies in the form of Dumbledore and the Order of the Phoenix, and being protected by his mother’s sacrificial spell. Hermione Granger had far fewer advantages when entering wizarding society than Harry did, as she was a muggle-born with no money, no famous family name, and who was entering a culture that had people who despised her for her lineage.
Harry Potter might have been the hero of his book series, but he would never have succeeded without the help of Hermione Granger, who used her intelligence and quick wits to save the day on many occasions. It always seemed as if Harry had no interest in learning about magic and treated their education as a chore, whereas Hermione went out of her way to learn all she could about the various aspects of sorcery, which allowed her to come up with ideas and solutions that her enemies never anticipated.
We are here today to reveal all of the knowledge and spells that Hermione used that were beyond the skills of Harry – from the magical communication tool that was used by Lord Voldemort to the ability to craft her own kinds of magic.

Why Didn’t She Take Advantage Of The Time Turner
Hermione was given a time turner in her third year during Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. She was instructed to only use it so she could manage to tackle multiple classes at once, yet she decided to bend the rules by using it to save Buckbeak.
That’s a sweet gesture, but why couldn’t she have taken advantage of the time turner by using it to stop more horrible events from occurring? For instance, she could have tampered with Voldemort’s reign, thus saving millions of lives rather than just the hippogriff’s.

Is Harry The Heir Of Slytherin
Harry was never the true Heir of Slytherin through his family line. He was able to speak to snakes due to having part of Voldemorts soul embedded in his lightning-shaped scar . The Heir was the soul-bit of Tom Riddle left behind in the Horcrux diary.
What house is Cedric in?
Cedric Diggory is the most prominent Hufflepuff in the original Harry Potter series, as he is a Prefect, the captain of Hufflepuffs Quidditch team and an eventual Triwizard Champion. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Cedric catches the Golden Snitch in a game against Gryffindor.
Why was Neville not in Hufflepuff? Neville Longbottom
Neville didnt even want to be placed in Gryffindor. He was intimidated by the houses reputation for bravery and actually wanted to be sorted into Hufflepuff instead. For its easy to be brave if youre naturally inclined to bravery if you were born to play the hero.
When did Ron start liking Hermione? Of the two of them, it was Hermione who realized she liked Ron first as she dropped heavy hints in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire of her attraction. She fully realized she liked him by the time of the Yule Ball, but didnt do anything because of Rons tactless behavior at the time.
Make Regular Objects As Hard As Stone
The Duro spell of the Charm school has the ability to make objects as hard as stone. It seems that the hardness of the object has no bearing on its durability after the spell is cast, as Hermione was able to alter the properties of a cloth tapestry in order to make it hard as stone and use it to injure two Death Eaters.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery claims that all third-year students are taught Duro during their Transfiguration classes, though the canonicity of the game has been called into question due to several inconsistencies regarding ages and dates, along with items that shouldn’t even exist yet .

She Hates Being Outdone
When she feels outdone, Hermione gets angry and can be rather offensive. For example, seeing as she always wants to be the best at everything, she didn’t respond well to Harry outperforming her in sixth-year Potions. She accused him of cheating because he got better grades than her when in fact, he never did such a thing.
Shape Magic Into A Cushion
The majority of brooms that are used by witches and wizards are enchanted with the Cushioning Charm, which creates an invisible magical pillow that makes it more comfortable to ride around on a stick of wood.
The Cushioning Charm also has the ability to cushion those who are falling from a great height. Hermione uses the spell for this effect when the gang is trying to break into Gringotts Bank, as it protects everyone when their mine cart is derailed. It’s never mentioned if Harry had ever learned this spell, but you would think it would be standard practice for all Quidditch players to learn the Cushioning Charm on the off-chance that they are knocked from their broom.

Married Ron And Had Two Kids
Hermione eventually settled down and married her long-time friend and partner Ron Weasley. Ron and Hermione have two children, Rose and Hugo. At the end of The Deathly Hallows Part II, Hermione and Ron reunite with Harry and Ginny to watch their children depart for Hogwarts. It’s natural for a child to gravitate to a specific parent over the other as Rose seems to have a special bond with her mother. In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Ron ironically says – “I have no idea where Rose gets her ambition from.” Yes, you do Ron and so do we.
Not only is Hermione a mother, it seems as though she’s particularity good at it too. We wouldn’t have thought otherwise though. Hermione is caring and intelligent, which are two excellent qualities for a mother to have. Hermione and Ron encourage Rose to make amends with Albus, who Rose was quarrelling with for befriending a Malfoy. Albus and Rose are cousins and managed to have a strong friendship, before it fell apart in their first year at Hogwarts. Hermione could tell that Albus was struggling and encouraged her daughter to make amends and try to re-friend Albus.
Origin Of Magical Abilities
Muggle-borns inherited magic from a distant ancestor they were descended from Squibs who had married Muggles and whose families had lost the knowledge of their wizarding legacy. The magic resurfaced unexpectedly many generations later.
Because of the heritable traits of magic, Muggle-born siblings were possible, as in the case of Colin and Dennis Creevey. However, this was not always the case, as Lily Evans’ sister Petunia was a Muggle.
When Muggle-born witches and wizards reached the age of eleven in the British wizarding community, their Hogwarts acceptance letters were delivered in person by a member of the staff, instead of by owl post . The purpose was to reassure the parents or guardians about the sudden news, and explain to them about the concealed magical society. They would also assist the family with the preparation for going to their desired wizarding school and for the buying of school supplies.

Turn Stairs Into A Slide
One of the most situational spells in Hermione’s repertoire was Glisseo, which had the effect of making stairs lock into place and turn into a slide. Hermione was able to use the Glisseo spell during the Battle of Hogwarts in order to turn one of the staircases in Hogwarts into a slide, so that the gang could quickly escape from a group of Lord Voldemort’s servants.
The founders of Hogwarts also used the Glisseo spell on the stairs of the school, which prevented boys from visiting the girl’s dormitories. It’s possible that the Hogwarts founders were worried that Hogwarts would turn into the kind of school from a teen comedy and wanted to keep horseplay to a minimum.
Restored Her Parents Memories
One of the saddest things to happen to Hermione is that she erased her parents memory of her to protect them. This was extremely hard to witness and must have been tough on the character to know that if something happened to her during the Battle of Hogwarts, her parents would have no recollection of their daughter. Hermione made her parents believe they were a childless couple, Monica and Wendell Wilkins. Hermione altered their memories to make them believe they had always dreamed of moving to Australia. Hermione’s parents did exactly that, leaving Britain unaware of the dangers their daughter faced.
This decision might have not only saved her parents lives, but also Hermione’s. Death Eaters were unsuccessful at tracking Hermione or her parents down. If they had got hold of Hermione’s parents, they could have used them to make Hermione surrender. J.K. Rowling confirmed that after the Second Wizarding War ended Hermione travelled to Australia and resorted her parents memories. She brought them back home to the UK and we would like to believe they’re still practising dentists. They’re also probably busy being grandparents to their two grand-kids, Rose and Hugo.

How Did Hermione Become The Minister For Magic
I don’t like The Cursed Child at all, but since JKR has confirmed that it’s canon, can someone tell me how Hermione ends up as Minister for Magic? It’s quite evident that she probably has the educational qualifications and skills required but she isn’t really shown to have great leadership or diplomacy skills, which, even as a Minister for Magic, is something extremely necessary to have.
Moreover, in Chapter 7 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows , when Scrimgeour suggests that she should pursue a career in Magical Law, she retorts that she wouldn’t because she “wants to do some good to the world”.
So, after two books of hating the way the Ministry actually functions, why did she want to take charge? This seems pretty out of character to me.
Hermione’s post-Hogwarts career is detailed in an interview with JKR. In short, she decided to work at the Ministry in order to further her SPEW campaign. Over time she became known as a powerful and progressive voice for liberal modern wizarding
JKR:Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department at theMinistry of Magic… Hermione began her post-Hogwarts career at theDepartment for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures whereshe was instrumental in greatly improving life for house-elves andtheir ilk. She then moved to theDepartment of Magical Law Enforcement where she was a progressivevoice who ensured the eradication of oppressive, pro-pureblood laws.
Usage In Harry Potter
The term Muggle is sometimes used in a pejorative manner in the novels. Since Muggle refers to a person who is a member of the non-magicalcommunity, Muggles are simply ordinary human beings without any magical abilities and almost always with no awareness of the existence of magic. Witches and wizards with non-magical parents are called Muggle-borns. There have also been some children known to have been born to one magical and one non-magical parent. People of this mixed parentage are called half-bloods magical people with any Muggle ancestry on the one side or the other are half-bloods as well. The most prominent Muggle-born in the Harry Potter series is Hermione Granger, who was born to Muggles of undisclosed names. Witches and wizards with all-magical heritage are called pure bloods.
In the Harry Potter novels, Muggles are often portrayed as foolish, sometimes befuddled characters, who are completely oblivious to the wizarding world that exists in their midst. If, by unfortunate means, Muggles do happen to observe the working of magic, the Ministry of Magic sends Obliviators to cast Memory Charms upon them, causing them to forget the event.
Some Muggles are aware of the wizarding world. These include Muggle parents of magical children, such as Hermione Granger‘s parents, the Muggle Prime Minister , the Dursley family , and the non-magical spouses of some witches and wizards.
