According to a recent interaction with The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Columbus opened up about whether he wanted to have Daniel Radcliffe on board in the upcoming Harry Potter movie titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Referring to the version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as cinematic bliss, he stated that to actually be able to see the adult actors in the roles would be amazingly fun.

Are Emma Watson And Rupert Grint Open To A Harry Potter Reboot

A post shared by Wizarding World

A Harry Potter reboot would be incomplete without the famous trio Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. Like Radcliffe, Grint and Watson have been reluctant to reprise their roles. I closed the book on that,Grint told Independent in 2018. It was a huge and amazing part of my life that I feel ended at the right time. Were all saying this, but were ready to move on.”

However, the Sick Note star seemed to have reconsidered his position in 2020, stating that he would be willing to take part in a reboot at the right time. “I would never say, ‘Absolutely no.’ It was a huge part of my life, and I’m very fond of that character and their stories, he disclosed to Independent. So yeah, I mean, I’d be up for it at the right time. I don’t know what capacity that would be, but yeah, we’ll see.”

By January 2022, Grints reluctance to reprise his role as Ron Weasley had completely vanished. I cant really think of a reason not to , he told Independent. I love that character, I love that world. Its a huge part of my life.

On the other hand, Emma Watson will only return to the franchise if Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is no longer part of it. Watson reportedly made this assertion after J.K. Rowling came under fire for expressing transphobic views on Twitter.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

In the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Rowling pits Harry against Tom Riddle, Lord Voldemort’s “memory” within a secret diary which has possessed Ron’s younger sister Ginny. When Muggle-born students are suddenly being Petrified, many suspect that Harry may be behind the attacks, further alienating him from his peers. Furthermore, Harry begins to doubt his worthiness for House of Gryffindor, particularly considering he discovers he shares Lord Voldemort’s ability to communicate with snakes via Parseltongue. In the climax, Ginny disappears. To rescue her, Harry battles Riddle and the monster he controls that is hidden in the Chamber of Secrets. To defeat the monster, Harry summons the Sword of Godric Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat supplied by Dumbledore’s pet phoenix, Fawkes. In doing so, Dumbledore later restores Harry’s self-esteem by explaining that that feat is clear proof of his worthiness of his present house.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s StoneEditor’s Note, May 6, 2020:

As the world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, magic, it seems, has never been a more necessary force. Luckily, spellcasting is a social distancing-approved indoor activityand Muggles and magicians alike can now use a wealth of online resources to keep their wand-waving skills up to snuff.

Earlier this month, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling announced the launch of Harry Potter at Home, a new online hub that aims to cast a Banishing Charm on boredomparticularly for students and teachers seeking relief from the doldrums of quarantine. A collaboration between Rowling and Audible, Bloomsbury, OverDrive, Pottermore Publishing and Scholastic, the website is chock full of craft tutorials, educator resources and more. Superfans can test their Potter trivia knowledge through a series of quizzes, while newcomers to the wizarding world can read interviews with some of the film franchises actors or learn how to draw a niffler.

Parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while were on lockdown might need a bit of magic, Rowling tweeted on April 1.

Harry Potter And The Half

Did You Know This About HARRY POTTER

In the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry enters a tumultuous puberty that, Rowling says, is based on her and her younger sister’s own difficult teenage years. Rowling also made an intimate statement about Harry’s personal life: “Because of the demands of the adventure that Harry is following, he has had less sexual experience than boys of his age might have had.” This inexperience with romance was a factor in Harry’s failed relationship with Cho. Now his thoughts concern Ginny, and a vital plot point in the last chapter includes Harry ending their budding romance to protect her from Voldemort.

This book also focuses on the mysterious activities of Harry’s rival Draco Malfoy. Voldemort has coerced a frightened Malfoy into attempting to kill Dumbledore. During a duel in Moaning Myrtle‘s bathroom, Harry uses the Half-Blood Prince’s spell, Sectumsempra, on Malfoy, who suffers near-fatal injuries as a result. Harry is horrified by what he has done and also comes to feel sympathy for Draco, after learning he was forced to do Voldemort’s bidding under the threat of his and his parents’ deaths.

Daniel Radcliffe Has Not Completely Ruled Out Returning To Harry Potter

A post shared by Harry Potter Film

While Radcliffe is not open to a Harry Potter reboot at the moment, the actor has not completely ruled out portraying Harry Potter in the distant future. Speaking to Radio Times in 2016, Radcliffe confessed that he might be willing to consider reprising his role for a reboot under very special circumstances.

“It would depend on the script, he said. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying ‘No’ for now, but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”

Although Radcliffe is yet to backtrack, the Now You See Me star has still not completely ruled out returning to the phenomenally successful franchise. Unfortunately, fans might have to wait a couple of decades before the famed actor is ready to consider returning to Hogwarts as Harry Potter. Im never going to say never, he told The New York Times. But the Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, its only been 10. Its not something Im really interested in doing right now.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

Harry is an orphan living with his abusive aunt and uncle, Vernon and Petunia Dursley and their bullying son, Dudley. On his eleventh birthday, Harry discovers he is a wizard when Rubeus Hagrid delivers him an acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He learns that his parents, James and Lily Potter, were murdered by a powerful dark wizard, Lord Voldemort. Harry, instead, survived Voldemort’s killing curse, which ended up bouncing back and apparently killing Voldemort, leaving a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead. Thus Harry became famous in the wizarding world.

Harry awakens in the school’s infirmary, where Dumbledore explains how Harry originally survived Voldemort. His mother’s sacrifice created a magical protection for him, which also acted against professor Quirrell. Voldemort unfortunately survived, while the philosopher’s stone has been destroyed to prevent it being stolen. During the school’s year-end feast, Gryffindor is awarded the House Cup thanks to the many points Harry and his friends obtained with their adventure. Harry returns to the Dursleys for the summer.

Unfortunately, Radcliffe is not so eager to reprise his role in the films that put his name on the map. This isnt the answer that anybodys going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy because its not a part of my day-to-day life anymore, the Lost City star explained to The New York Times. Im getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter OK, and Im really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life.
