Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book release party in Barcelona

And the eager fans definitely took advantage of all the activities!

Trivia was a hit with the room packed full of people trying to best each other the books they know by heart. But the real treat was walking around and getting to see all the cool costumes something the Strand encouraged with two separate costume contests.

The first round was for kids, in which 8-year-old Sam walked away with a prize for dressing up as Quidditch Harry Potter golden snitch and all!

I like Harry because he risked his life to fight Voldemort! Sam said after winning. His mom told PEOPLE that hes a huge Potter fan and even once watched all the movies in less than a week when he was sick.

It was a treat for him to attend a midnight release since he hadnt even been born when the most recent book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was released.

But although there were certainly little Potter fans running around the Strand on Saturday night, the crowd definitely skewed towards older fans. Most guests were well into their 20s and had been Sams age when the books first started.

Inspiration And Mother’s Death

Rowling worked as a researcher and bilingual secretary in London for , then moved with her boyfriend to Manchester where she worked at the Chamber of Commerce. In 1990, she was on a four-hour delayed train trip from Manchester to London when the idea “came fully formed” into her mind for a story of a young boy attending a school of wizardry. When she reached her flat, she began to write immediately.

In December 1990, Rowling’s mother Anne died after ten years suffering from . Rowling was writing Harry Potter at the time and had never told her mother about it. Her mother’s death heavily affected Rowling’s writing, and she channelled her own feelings of loss by writing about Harry’s grief in greater detail in the first book.

Subsequent Harry Potter Publications

Rowling has said it is unlikely she will write any more books in the Harry Potter series. In October 2007, she stated that her future work was unlikely to be in the fantasy genre. On 1 October 2010, in an interview with , Rowling stated a new book on the saga might happen.

In 2007, Rowling stated that she planned to write an encyclopaedia of Harry Potter‘s consisting of various unpublished material and notes. Any profits from such a book would be given to charity. During a news conference at Hollywood’s in 2007, Rowling, when asked how the encyclopaedia was coming along, said, “It’s not coming along, and I haven’t started writing it. I never said it was the next thing I’d do.” At the end of 2007, Rowling said that the encyclopaedia could take up to ten years to complete.

In June 2011, Rowling announced that future Harry Potter projects, and all electronic downloads, would be concentrated in a new website, called . The site includes 18,000 words of information on characters, places and objects in the Harry Potter universe.

In October 2015, Rowling announced via Pottermore that a two-part play she had co-authored with playwrights Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, , was the “eighth Harry Potter story” and that it would focus on the life of Harry Potter’s youngest son Albus after the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. On 28 October 2015, the first round of tickets went on sale and sold out in several hours.

Book Review: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One ...

The story is about a young and handsome warlock who decides to never fall in love, so he uses Dark Arts to prevent himself from doing so. His family, hoping he will change, does nothing. However, one day, he hears two servants whispering about him not having a wife, so he decides to find a talented, rich, and beautiful witch and marry her to gain everyone’s envy.

He meets that girl the next day. Though the girl is both “fascinated and repelled”, the warlock persuades her to come to a dinner feast at his castle. During the feast, she tells him that she needs to know he has a heart. The warlock shows her his beating hairy heart inside a crystal casket in his dungeon. The witch begs him to put it back inside himself. After the warlock does so, she embraces him. However, being disconnected from its body for so long, his heart has developed savage tastes as it has degenerated into an animalistic state. And so he is driven to take by force a truly human heart. He tears out the witch’s heart to replace his own, but finding that he cannot magic the hairy heart back out of his chest, he cuts it out with a dagger. Thus he and the maiden both die, with him holding both hearts in his hands.

Babbitty Rabbitty And Her Cackling Stump

This story is about a king who wants to keep all magic to himself. To do this he needs to solve two problems: he must capture and imprison all of the sorcerers in the kingdom and he has to learn magic. He creates a “Brigade of Witch Hunters” and calls for an instructor in magic. Only a “cunning charlatan” with no magical ability responds. The charlatan proves himself with a few simple tricks and begins to ask for jewellery and money to continue teaching.

However, Babbitty, the king’s washerwoman, laughs at the king one day as he attempts to do magic with an ordinary twig. This causes the king to demand the charlatan join him in a public demonstration of magic and warns that the charlatan will be beheaded if anyone laughs. The charlatan later witnesses Babbitty performing magic in her house. He threatens to expose her if she does not assist him. She agrees to hide and help the demonstration.

During the performance, the brigade captain asks the king to bring his dead hound back to life. Because Babbitty’s magic is unable to raise the dead, the crowd thinks the previous acts were tricks. The charlatan exposes Babbitty, accusing her of blocking the spells. Babbitty flees into a forest and disappears at the base of an old tree. In desperation, the charlatan states that she has turned “into a tree” and has the tree cut down.

A whole generation grew up during the years 1997-2007 breathlessly awaiting the release of each new book in J.K. Rowling’s seven-volume Harry Potter series of fantasy novels about young witches and wizards battling evil. The books were released at midnight and parents would allow the young fans to stay up long past bedtime at the local bookstore to be the first to buy and read the latest installment.

All that returns tonight when the script for the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 and 2, is released as a hardcover book, as the eighth book in the series. It goes on sale at midnight between July 30 and 31

Special release parties are planned at select Barnes & Noble stores across the U.S., the Strand Bookstore and at Books of Wonder. Script publisher Scholastic is maintaining a directory of release parties.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Book Release Party!

While J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. have both denied that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would ever be adapted for the big screen in the past, Kilar’s remarks rekindled old rumors. Taking into account that the play is shown in two parts because of its length, many argue that a movie version of Harry Potter in the Cursed Child wouldn’t really work and might it be better adapted in a TV show format. It so happens that the studio has announced a call for writers for a potential spinoff show set in the world of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child To Be Eighth Book

An eighth Harry Potter book is to be released this summer – containing the script for a new stage play telling the wizard’s story.

A hardback edition of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts I & II will be released on 31 July, the day after the play has debuted on stage.

It sees Harry as a father and an overworked Ministry of Magic employee.

The play is from an original new story by JK Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will tell the “untold part” of the boy wizard’s story, including the story of the lives of his murdered parents, Rowling has said.

It will pick up the story 19 years after Harry was last seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, waving his two eldest children off to Hogwarts.

The Tale Of The Three Brothers

The story is about three brothers who, while travelling together, reach a treacherous river. Being wizards, they make a magical bridge over the river. Halfway across the bridge, they meet Death, who is angry for losing three potential victims of the river. He pretends to be impressed by them and grants each a wish as a reward. The eldest brother asks for an unbeatable wand which will always grant him victory, so Death carves the Elder Wand from a nearby elder tree. The middle brother asks for the ability to call back the dead, so Death plucks the Resurrection Stone from the riverbank. The youngest and smartest brother doesn’t trust Death and asks for something that could hide him from the eyes of Death himself, so Death reluctantly gives him his Cloak of Invisibility. Afterwards, the brothers go their separate ways.

The eldest brother, bragging about his powerful wand, is robbed of it by a man and murdered while he is asleep. The middle brother uses his ability to bring back the woman he loved, who died before he could marry her. However, she is not fully alive and is full of sorrow. He kills himself to join her. So death takes the first two brothers for his own. As for the youngest brother, Death never manages to find him, as he stays hidden under his Cloak. Many years later, the brother removes his cloak and gives it to his son. Pleased with his achievements, he greets Death as an old friend and chooses to leave with him as equals.

Harry Potter& Cursed Child Movie: Release Date Cast Story Will It Happen

" Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" has already broken ...

Warner Bros. teases a new Harry Potter project for HBO Max. Could they be adapting the sequel story play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?

WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar recently teased that new Harry Potter content was in the works for HBO Max, and it has people wondering if they plan on adapting the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Ever since the epilogue scene at the end of the Harry Potter movie franchise in 2011, fans have been asking for more movies set in the wizarding world. Their wishes were granted, somewhat obliquely, by the release of prequels Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, as well as a sequel in the form of a two-part stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The Fantastic Beasts series is surrounded by controversy and has somewhat underperformed overall compared to its predecessor. The second movie of the prequel series, The Crimes of Grindelwald, received brutal reviews after it was released in 2018. The studio has been trying to rectify the situation by recasting Johnny Depp’s role as Gellert Grindelwald with Mads Mikkelsen, who has been deemed a better fit for the character in many critics opinions it might entice viewers to give Fantastic Beasts another chance. In any case, a new Harry Potter project could give a breath of fresh air to the overall franchise and distract from Fantastic Beasts‘ failings.

Jack has an extensive background writing for theatre, but I know him best for his work on television, with This is England 86 and the critically acclaimed UK series Skins.

The play was initially unveiled in 2013, and was billed as an exploration of Harrys earlier years as an orphan and outcast. Sine then the cursed child has expanded its scope and is now set after the last book, with Harry now middle aged and dealing with his life in the ministry of magic as well as raising three children. It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isnt much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

The Wizard And The Hopping Pot

This story is about the legacy of an old man who, in his generosity, used his pot to brew magical potions and antidotes for other people when they needed his help. Upon his death, he leaves all his belongings to his only son, who has none of the virtues his father had. After his father’s death, the son finds the pot and a single slipper inside it together with a note from his father that reads, “In the fond hope, my son, that you will never need it”.

Bitter for having nothing left but a pot, the son closes the door on every person who asks for his help. Each time he does so, the pot takes on the symptoms of the ones who ask for help, it starts disturbing the son and prevents him from having any peace of mind. This continues until the son finally gives up and provides aid to the town. Upon doing this, the pot’s ailments are removed one by one and the son’s ordeal finally ends one day when the slipper he received from his father falls out of the pot he puts the slipper on the pot’s foot and the two walk off into the sunset.
