Finding And Buying Wizarding Wands

If you want the full wand shopping experience, look no further than Ollivanders. This famous wandmaker and his descendents have been crafting wands since 382 B.C. In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you can find two Ollivanders stores, one in each park. Ollivanders carries 13 original wand designs as well as character wands. The original designs are made out of birch, rowan, ash, alder, willow, hawthorn, oak, holly, hazel, vine, ivy, reed or elder woods. The range of character wands is quite extensive. You can find the wands of major characters, such as Harry Potter, Professor Dumbledore and Voldemort, as well as many supporting characters, including Mad-Eye Moody and Nymphadora Tonks.

The character wands will be labeled by the characters name, and the original Ollivanders designs have labels with an intricate O. If youre looking specifically for an interactive wand, look for the labels in gold. As far as pricing goes, make sure to set aside $55 for an interactive wand or $49 for a non-interactive wand.

You can also find The Wizarding World of Harry Potter wands at Wands by Gregorovitch in Diagon Alley , as well as the main gift shops near each parks entrance and the Universal Studios Store in Universal CityWalk.

If Your Wand Stops Working Bring It Back To Ollivanders

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, your wand may get damaged. If your wand stops casting spells at multiple locations, it may be in need of a repair. In this case, you just need to take it back to Ollivanders.

There, a wand keeper can evaluate the integrity of your wand. If your wand is damaged, they will repair it for free. The process is relatively quick, and means more success with your future spell-casting!

Infj: Pine Wand With A Phoenix Feather Core

An INFJ is one of the rarest personality types which is why it makes sense that they would be paired with a Pinewood wand. While this material is not the least popular, it does stand by an owner who is seen as somewhat mysterious and a true loner. Not always by choice, an INFJ will often find themselves needing time away from other people. Their nature as empaths allows them insight and observation into things that many don’t see initially, leaving them often open and vulnerable. It can be draining, and this is something a Pinewood wand will understand. Matched with a Phoenix Feather core, this wand will be truly unique as well as understatedly powerful.

Is The Interactive Wand At Universal Worth It

Every Single Wand Wood Type (ALL 38) – Harry Potter Wandlore Explained

Interactive wands are totally worth it! With 25 official spell locations between both parks, our 9 and 11-year-old kids were occupied for HOURS! Its definitely worth paying the extra $6 to get the interactive version of a wand.

And although the wands are a little pricey, they can be used during future visits as well. The wand magic actually lasts forever, as there are no batteries or need for recharging!

One of Miss Somersaults favourite spells REVELIO opened the Chocolate Frog box in the window of Honeydukes.

We would recommend against purchasing your interactive wands online. You may be disappointed with what you get. Instead, inspect and select your wand in-person at the parks, and you wont regret your purchase.

If you plan on returning to the Wizarding World, you can use your interactive wands again and again! And trust me, the kids used the wands with the same interest and fervour on each subsequent visit!

Can You Buy A Wand At Ollivanders

Yes, you can certainly purchase a wand at Ollivanders. You may buy a replica of one of your favorite film characters, or you may get your own wand. For the best experience, you may want to go to the Ollivanders at Diagon Alley but if you are nowhere near there or you arent going there, you can also find an Ollivanders at Hogsmeade.

You can also purchase wands at the shops and carts at the park front, or at Wands by Gregorovitch. However, to get the full experience, you might want to wait until you get to Ollivanders.

Its up to you whether you buy the wand that chooses you or not, but whats definite is that youll not want to leave that wand there. The bond will likely be formed from the moment you get picked.

Use Small Wrist Movements Instead Of Waving Your Arms

Show Your Harry Potter Wands

In our experience, we have found that grandiose wand flourishing does not produce good results. Instead, its all in the wrist! Use smaller wrist movements, rather than waving your arms.

Make sure to stand straight, and carefully position yourself on the embedded bronze medallion. You need to be facing the spot the medallion is pointed at. Next, extended your arm, and make small deliberate movements with the wand.

Wingardium Leviosa!

Trust Professor Flitwicks advice! Casting spells are more in the movement than in the words. Your swish and flick is more important than saying Wingardium Levi-OH-sa, not Levio-SAA.

Infp: Alder Wand With A Unicorn Hair Core

An Alder wand is a true match for INFPs, who are often referred to as the ‘Mediators’. A wand made of this wood will lend it to someone who has a genuine and open heart, always willing to come to the aid of others. It’s in that attribute that the Alder wood wand will reveal its true power for altruistic purposes. Its owner will undoubtedly be well-liked and among good company, should their personality shine true to that of an INFP. A Unicorn hair core will keep the wand attached to one owner, unmoving in its use by any other witch or wizard.

What Are The Interactive Wizarding Wand Designs

While guests can purchase an interactive wand modeled after the one brandished by their favorite characters, including Harry, Hermione, Dumbledore, Sirius, and more, there are also unclaimed wands that are not associated with any character in the Harry Potter books or films. J.K. Rowling has written that, although her choice of holly for Harrys wand was solely based on its arboreal properties, she later discovered the Celtic tree calendar and realized that she had, coincidentally, given Harry the correct wood for the day of his birth. Using that information, Universal has designed a selection of 13 wands loosely based on that same Celtic calendar.

Heres a full list of the 13 types of wood, along with the time periods and attributes associated with each:

Perceptive, sensitive, resilient

Shop assistants may suggest using your birthday or a significant life event to help in your decision-making, and should you be the lucky wizard selected for the wandmakers show at Ollivanders, the characteristics described by the wandmaker may also be based on your birthday.
