Former Harry Potter star Harry Melling says he wants to move on from the franchise.

Actor Harry Melling has taken on numerous roles throughout his career in the entertainment industry. Though the English star remains well known for playing Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter franchise, Melling recently revealed during an interview with Vanity Fair that he’s ready to move on from the role that initially shot him to fame. But, of course, even though the actor stated that he wants to move on from his iconic character, Melling noted that he remains deeply grateful for being able to participate in the series.

Based on J. K Rowling’s besting books, the first movie in the Harry Potter film franchise, was directed by Chris Columbus and released back in 2001. In the first film, fans of the series were introduced to Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter, Rupert Grint’s Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson’s Hermione Granger. In addition, the first movie in the series also introduced audiences to Melling as Harry’s obnoxious and spoiled cousin Dudley Dursley.
