Magical Abilities And Skills

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) discusses Harry Potter on GMTV

During the series, Draco is portrayed as a cunning, competent young wizard. In his second year, he successfully performed the Tarantallegra curse against Harry, a curse used by Death Eater Antonin Dolohov in book 5, and also successfully cast the Serpensortia spell in the same scene, conjuring a serpent from his wand just as Voldemort would later do against Dumbledore in book 5, and Snape against McGonagall in the final book. His character further develops in the sixth book, in which he is among very few students able to reach the required level to take Advanced Potions. Draco also proved capable at Occlumency, which he learned from his Aunt Bellatrix. Rowling recalled a discussion with her editor about Draco having mastered Occlumency while Harry could not. The author said that this is due to Draco being someone “very capable of compartmentalising his life and his emotions”. Draco’s wand is 10 inches precisely, made of hawthorn with a unicorn hair core, and which Ollivander states is “reasonably springy”.

When asked what shape Draco’s Patronus Charm is, Rowling replied that, at least by the end of the sixth book, Draco was not capable of producing a Patronus, as it is not magic routinely taught at Hogwarts.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Draco becomes the new Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch team after his father, Lucius Malfoy, donates new, high-quality Nimbus 2001 broomsticks. When Hermione Granger comments that the Gryffindor players made the team through talent and not bribery, Draco responds by calling her a Mudblood. This provokes an immediate, violent response from Ron Weasley. Because of Draco’s contempt for Muggle-borns, Harry, Ron, and Hermione suspect that Draco is the Heir of Slytherin, who has recently reopened the Chamber of Secrets. Harry and Ron disguise themselves as Crabbe and Goyle with Polyjuice Potion and infiltrate the Slytherin common room in an attempt to collect additional information, whereupon they realise that their initial suspicion about Draco is incorrect.

Felton Has Been Acting Since Childhood

Tom Felton is an actor who has been in the game far longer than most people realize. While he is best known for his work as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, the truth is that Felton has put together an impressive career that started back when he was just a kid.

Back in 1997, four years before his time playing Draco Malfoy, Felton was cast as Peagreen Clock in The Borrowers, which was a big break for the young actor. The film was a modest success that still maintains a sizable following all these years later. The following year, Felton had a role on Bugs, which was a British series.

In 1999, Felton would appeared in both Anna and the King and Second Sight, which kept the ball rolling for the young actor. Things, however, would take a massive turn in 2001 when Felton was cast as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise.

Teens Cast As Scorpius Malfoy & Severus Snape In Final Harry Potter Movie

Boardwalk Empire star Kelly Macdonald will play the Grey Lady in Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

“Boardwalk Empire” star Kelly Macdonald will play the ghostly Grey Lady in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” which officially wrapped production after a recent round of reshoots pertaining to the franchise’s highly anticipated epilogue.

Also known as Helena Ravenclaw, the late daughter of Hogwarts founder Rowena Ravenclaw, the character is an important information keeper who previously appeared in “Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone,” where she was played by “Clash of the Titans” actress Nina Young.

Warner Bros. decided to reshoot the epilogue after fans complained that the stars’ makeup made them look too old, as Harry & Co. are only supposed to be 35 at the end of the last novel.

Other additions to the ensemble cast include 14-year-old Benedict Clark and 13-year-old Bertie Gilbert , who will play Draco Malfoy’s son, Scorpius, a character that figures into the finale at King’s Cross.

As for Clark, he’ll play young Severus Snape, which is a good indication that the character’s sad flashbacks will be included in the film. Alec Hopkins played young Snape in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” and while he’ll likely reprise the role, the character’s flashbacks take place a decade earlier, necessitating the casting of a younger actor.

She Is Not A Death Eater

Draco Malfoy

Though her husband was a loyal Death Eater held in high regard by the Dark Lord himself, his wife Narcissa never officially became one. She did, however, share his elitist views of wizarding supremacy and the importance of blood purity.

We see her supporting her husband and playing host to the Death Eater meetings that take place in Malfoy Manor in the final book, yet you can rest assured that Narcissa was never beneath one of those dark hoods. This much has been confirmed by J.K. Rowling herself.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban

During Hagrid’s debut as Care of Magical Creatures instructor in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the hippogriff, Buckbeak, attacks Draco after he fails to observe proper protocol while approaching it and insults it. He exaggerates the extent of his injury, giving Slytherin a chance to postpone their Quidditch match against Gryffindor until later in the year and as an attempt to have Hagrid fired. Hermione punches Draco when he mocks Hagrid for crying over Buckbeak’s death sentence. Draco, who implies that he is aware of how Sirius Black was supposedly involved in the deaths of Harry’s parents, also taunts Harry about the impending threat of Black: “If it was me, I’d want revenge. I’d hunt him down myself.”

Felton Auditioned For Both Harry And Ron

Tom Felton’s GUT WRENCHING Tribute To ‘Harry Potter Mom’ Revealed!

In a surprise to fans, it has been revealed that Tom Felton was up for the roles of Harry and Ron in the franchise. While we have no doubt that he could have excelled in either role, the truth is that the folks making the movies did an incredible job in getting the cast right for each role.

According to Felton, I’m very grateful I am in the film at all, but even more grateful that I got the character of Draco. I think Rupert and Dan, there’s no question in my mind, there’s no one else in the world that, A) could have played the character better, but B) could have handled the behind-the-scenes pressure those guys have dealt with over the last decade.

Fortunately, there was no jealousy involved when it came to working on set.

There was a great sense of kind of being on a team, and Daniel kind of flew that flag from day one. He was always the most excited, the most eager, he had the most fun on set. And through that, I think everyone just kind of latched on to him and sort of followed his lead. So he’s definitely been like the godfather over the years, and he’s definitely been the one that’s been the most inspirational, for sure, Felton said.

Rupert Grint Truly Loves Tom Felton

When it comes to Harry Potter casting, there’s no denying that each of the actors seemed to fit for their roles so perfectly that we can’t imagine anyone else in their place. The same goes for Tom Felton who essayed Draco Malfoy in the HP films and convinced us that he’s from the ‘mean boys’ gang of Hogwarts. While his on-screen role may have been ‘ridiculous’, his off-screen personality is beyond likable and the stark opposite from being a Malfoy. Felton is possibly one of the friendliest actors and unlike Malfoy, doesn’t have any snooty airs about himself. The actor is known to have gotten along extremely well with his Harry Potter castmates and is often seen goofing around with them. Tom is known to be a close friend to Ron Weasley aka Rupert Grint and while the actor may have been his meanest to the Weasley kids in the films, Felton is the sweetest in real life. As Felton turns 33, we take a look at some of his best snaps with his Harry Potter co-stars. This photo is one of the best examples of the Felton-Grint bond as you can see Rupert posing in a T-shirt that reads, “I love Tom Felton.”

Harry Potter Series And Recognition

In 1999, auditions were held for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the film adaptation of J. K. Rowling‘s . Felton had not read the books at the time of the auditions, and originally read of the roles of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley before ultimately being cast as Draco Malfoy, the “enemy .. who will do anything, and plenty besides, to be sure his house places first.”Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released in 2001 to critical and commercial success. The film was praised for its casting, including Felton’s one critic his performance “the personification of upper-class insolence.”

He reprised his role the following year in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , which saw Felton winning a Disney Channel‘s Kids Award. Felton started his Official Tom Felton Fan Club in 2004 and took part in autograph signing events. His fan club was reported to have attracted so many fans that Felton had to put a temporary stop to people signing up to his fan club. When the fan asked Felton what kids should do if someone like his character is bullying them, he said: “Tell someone. You do not want to keep it to yourself.”

She’s A Loving Mother

Narcissa is a deeply flawed and prejudiced character who’s been on the side of You-Know-Who all the way until the very last book. Be that as it may, she’s an incredibly caring and loving mother to her son Draco. In fact, her love for Draco far exceeds her loyalty to both her husband and Lord Voldemort, as showcased by her actions in the Battle for Hogwarts where she betrayed the Dark Lord by lying about Harry being dead – something only one other person would dare to do. She did this because she knew her family would not find peace and safety in the grasp of Voldemort. Essentially, Harry’s life was saved by the love of two mothers: his own, and Narcissa’s love for Draco.

Apart from that iconic scene, Narcissa has been a caring and protective mother since before Draco received his Hogwarts letter. Initially, he was to attend the Durmstrang academy for purebloods, but being a worried and loving mother, Narcissa begged Lucius to let Draco attend Hogwarts so he would be closer to her. Also, she would not tolerate anyone attacking or insulting her son, not even her husband.

“If you attack my son again, I shall ensure that it is the last thing you ever do.”

Harry Potter Star Tom Felton Takes On Sorting Hat Challenge And Fans Can’t Believe Result

He then challenged one of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing stars to the Sorting Hat challenge

No matter how long it’s been since the original Harry Potter films, we are all still somewhat invested in the characters and some good old Harry Potter trivia.

Thankfully, Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, took on the Sorting Hat challenge this week in a surprise video he posted online.

The Epsom-born actor was 13 when he was cast in the role of Malfoy, where we saw him sorted into Slytherin house in the first film, which became the house associated with Harry’s arch enemies at Hogwarts.

Not only this, but the Malfoy family pride themselves on having generations of witches and wizards belonging to Slytherin.

Slytherin house is known to have a history with the Dark Arts, with Tom Riddle aka Lord Voldemort and his followers, known as Death Eaters.

So when actor Tom Felton did the sorting hand quiz to find out his house, in celebration of it being 20 years since the first film, perhaps we were all expecting it to be Slytherin.

But we were wrong.

Instead of staying loyal to his character’s Slytherin house as some fans might have expected, Tom was sorted into none other than Gryffindor house.

Gryffindor house is known as the house of bravery, with Draco’s enemies Harry, Ron and Hermione all belonging to it, as well as a host of the series’ most admirable fan favourites .

He’s Not A True Slytherin Even Though He Played One

You don’t get more Slytherin than Draco Malfoy. But when Felton joined Pottermore in 2015 and took the quiz to find out which Hogwarts House he’d be sorted into, that’s not where he ended up.

He tweeted, “Today was the day. I finally did it. I joined Pottermore and was sorted into……..Gryffindor. Heart broken x #slytherinforlife”

She Is Nymphadora Tonks’ Aunt

Tom Felton Would Return as Draco Malfoy for More Harry Potter!

Many of you already know that Narcissa is the sister to Bellatrix Lestrange, even those of us who’ve only seen the movies. However, she’s also the sister of Andromeda Tonks, who is the mother of a prominent side character in the seventh book – Nymphadora Tonks.

However, Narcissa being a strong supporter of pure blood wizards, disowned her cousin and looks down upon her because of her affiliation with Remus Lupin, who’s a Werewolf.

Her Name Is The Only Unusual One In House Black

This one’s quite obvious for a hardened Harry Potter fan, yet many didn’t notice Narcissa’s uniqueness when it comes to her name. Of all the Black children since Phineas Nigellus Black, Narcissa is the only one who hasn’t been named after a star or a constellation. In fact, her name presumably comes from the mythological Narcissus, which pairs well with both her appearance and her elitist behavior.

But, that’s not the only thing that makes her special she’s also the only Black born with completely blond hair. In the movies, however, the stylists decided she would have a partly black hair to represent her connection to the Black family and her older sister Bellatrix, while her blond locks would clearly mark her as a Malfoy.
