Jk Rowling’s Transphobic Viewpoints Left Many Potter Fans Disenchanted
In 2020, in a now-infamous series of tweets and a subsequent essay, the controversial “Harry Potter” author issued a spate of contentious statements about biological sex and gender. Rowling’s opinions led many to label her a trans-exclusionary radical feminist.
A TERF is generally characterized as a person who says they’re a feminist while espousing trans-exclusionary views. Common examples include saying that trans women aren’t women, barring trans women from women’s spaces, and conflating sex with gender.
These comments weren’t her first foray into transphobia. In addition to liking a couple of offensive tweets in 2018, she also tweeted in 2019 in support of a British woman who was fired over making transphobic comments.
Then, amid the backlash of her 2020 tweets and essay, the author published a poorly received book under her pseudonym, Robert Galbraith, that follows a male serial killer who lures his victims by dressing as a woman.
Her actions disenchanted scores of fans, who have struggled to figure out what to do with their love for the series given the controversy around its creator.
The Cheapest Times To Visit Harry Potter World
The cheapest days to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter most often correspond to the cheapest days to visit Universal Orlando, in general. Typically, the cheapest months are January and most of February, excluding the days surrounding the New Year and winter break.
Other inexpensive times include the beginning of March and the majority of September and October.
If you cant take a trip during any of these windows, keep in mind that there are still some ways to avoid the crowds in the Harry Potter parks. Guests staying on property in one of Universals resort hotels have the opportunity to enter either Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade one hour early. This means that early risers are able to conquer half of the Harry Potter attractions before most guests have even entered the parks, meaning the streets are virtually empty and lines for the rides extremely short.
About The Harry Potter Studios
It was in the year 2000 that the first Harry Potter film — Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone — was shot at a studio in Leavesden. On completion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Warner Bros. announced that they would be purchasing the site as a permanent attraction dedicated to the wizarding world. Experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley as you walk the familiar streets of London, passing buskers, red telephone booths and Kings Cross Station. You will know youre close to Diagon Alley once you see the Knight Bus. Just pass through the brick archway and catch your first glimpse of this hidden magical marketplace.
Once inside, grab a cup of Butterbeer or Pumpkin Juice from iconic establishments like Leaky Cauldron, the Hopping Pot and other themed dining options, or even from a passing street vendor. Several Diagon Alley venues also have wizard-friendly eats.
Of course, its not the wizarding world without adventure, and youll find plenty of it at Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. Keep a watchful eye on the roof of Gringotts Money Exchange while youre there, though the 60-foot Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon is known to breathe fire!
Next, its time to gear up on everything youll need to make your time at Hogwarts a success. Find the perfect wand at Ollivanders, get sized for your school uniform at Madam Malkins Robes for All Occasions, prepare for the big game at Quality Quidditch Supplies, or just stock up on side-splitting gags at Weasleys Wizard Wheezes, among other shopping opportunities. And if you have the nerve to brave Knockturn Alley, Borgin and Burkes is your source for Death Eater masks and other merchandise coveted by members of House Slytherin.

Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

Hagrids ride is the newest addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It takes you on a journey through the forbidden forest.
I love the design. You actually hop onto Hagrids motorbike. You have the option to jump on the motorcycle or the side bucket seat. I rode both and like sitting in the bucket seat better. My husband is taller and preferred sitting on the bike.
This coaster is awesome. It has a surprise that I wont spoil but let me just say it is amazing!
Advantage Of Express Unlimited
So should you get it? Well, when we went we knew we had limited time. We live far away, and we realized the cost to travel back out to Orlando to go to Universal is expensive, and perhaps by more fully utilizing our time while in Orlando, we could save overall.
If we spent a week at Universal, we probably could have been fine without the pass.

Hungarian Horntail Slicing His Arm
The Triwizard Tournament is yet another wildly dangerous tradition Hogwarts seems to tolerate, and it’s a wonder Harry doesn’t sustain more injuries. His first comes from the deadly Hungarian Horntail in the First Task.
Thanks to his flying skills, he manages to evade serious damage. However, he still slices his shoulder on one of the dragon’s talons when he fails to swerve on time. Although it’s quite shallow and Madam Pomfrey fixes him in a matter of minutes, it’s still a nasty wound Harry never even signed up to receive.
Falling Off His Broom
Another serious Quidditch incident sees Harry fall off his broom. The average person couldn’t be expected to sit on a thin strip of wood in the sky for hours at a time without this happening at least once, but Harry is constantly cited as one of the best players Hogwarts has ever seen, making this completely out of character.
In his defense, it’s not for lack of talent. Dementors are responsible for the incident, catching him off guard in a game already hampered by thunder and lightning. Thankfully, Dumbledore manages to slow him down before he hits the ground, but he still falls hundreds of feet and has to spend an entire weekend in the hospital. Yet another lucky escape for the Chosen One.

Halloween In The Wizarding World
Lastly , the Halloween season also makes for a magical visit to the Wizarding World. Although the Harry Potter parks dont go through much of a spooky transformation, Universals main Halloween event, Halloween Horror Nights, yields a special Harry Potter-related opportunity.
Guests can enjoy smaller daytime crowds during their September or October visit to begin with, but they can also find a quiet haven in Diagon Alley during the nighttime festivities.
While most guests are wrapped up in the late-night Halloween Horror festivities at the Universal Studios park, Diagon Alley remains open to visitors much later than usual.
True Potter fans will relish the chance to walk the streets of this wizarding marketplace in peace and quiet.
Should I Purchase Souvenirs At The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter
I highly recommend getting a wand because not only is it a great souvenir you can use it in both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. I think it is worth it.
Other items such as shirts, mugs, and magnets. I wouldnt necessarily purchase at the park. You can find these types of things at souvenir store located throughout Orlando for a lot cheaper. However, if there is something you love and have not seen anywhere else than I suggest getting it.

‘harry Potter’ Can Never Be What It Once Was For The Next Generation Of Readers
As we look for ways to carry the best of the books into the future, we’ll have to leave some of their splendor in the past like a literary “you had to be there” moment.

Most of Harry’s injuries are magic-related. However, when it comes to his rivalry with Draco Malfoy, both have a habit of seeing red and resorting to their most basic angry instincts, as seen when Malfoy breaks Harry’s nose in Half-Blood Prince.

Convinced that Malfoy is up to something, Harry sneaks into his compartment under cover of the Invisibility Cloak. It’s nothing that can’t be fixed with magic, but it’s still pretty gruesome not to mention painful.
The Events Of The Third Task
Harry’s experience in both the maze and the graveyard make the night of the Third Task one of the worst of his life. Back before he’s aware of Voldemort’s impending return, he is thrown into the air by an Acromantula that pierces his leg with a pincer before being thrown to the ground.

Of course, his night progressively gets more traumatic when Wormtail slices his arm open for blood to restore Voldemort. He’s also subjected to the Cruciatus Curse. Severe though his wounds may be, Fawkes later heals them with phoenix tears. However, the emotional weight of this night rests on Harry forever.

Do I Need To Purchase Tickets To Both Parks To Experience Harry Potter World
Unfortunately, the answer is yes.
Universal Orlando has two themed parks right next to each other: Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. or a dragon ride that has you jump into water!
Both parks have Harry Potter attractions. And you cant just go to one park one day, and the second another if you want the whole experience. You will need a 2-park pass, which allows you to go to both parks in one day, in order to ride the Hogwarts Express between parks.
