Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter – The Death of Albus Dumbledore HD

Rowling used several chapters in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to reveal two major details concerning Dumbledore: his early life and his death. The book introduces his parents, Percival and Kendra Dumbledore, as well as his little sister, Ariana his brother, Aberforth Dumbledore, was mentioned in previous books. At six years old, Ariana was attacked by three Muggle boys who had witnessed her performing magic. Because of this attack, Ariana was seriously traumatised and never able to control her magic again. Enraged, Percival attacked the Muggle boys , and was given a life sentence in Azkaban. After this, Kendra moved her family to the village of Godric’s Hollow. In one of her outbursts, Ariana accidentally killed Kendra at around the time that Albus completed his education. Albus became the head of the family and was forced to remain in his house with his sister while Aberforth completed his education.

Decades later, in 1945, Dumbledore finally defeated the now-Dark wizard Grindelwald, who had come to possess the Elder Wand. Grindelwald’s defeat made Dumbledore the master of the Elder Wand, which remained his until just before his death, when Draco used the Disarming Charm on him.

Dumbledore had another Hallow in his keeping since the death of James Potter: the Invisibility Cloak, which he had borrowed to examine. When James died, Dumbledore kept the cloak and decided to pass it on to Harry, James’ son.

Why Did Snape Kill Dumbledore

Severus Snape killed the Hogwarts Headmaster because he was asked to do it by Dumbledore. Along with this, the Hogwarts Headmaster was about to die and with this act, he would prove his loyalty one more time.

If you decide to stay with us, you will find out what were the real reasons Professor Snape killed Dumbledore, whats behind the whole story of DumbledoreSnape relationship, and why Dumbledore trusted Severus so much. Lets go!

Harry Was More Important Than The Morale Of Dumbledor’s Followers

I think I got what you mean. You argue that the way he died could have a negative influence on the morale of those who had to wage a war against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. I would partly agree that it had that effect on parts of the British wizarding community.

However, he knew that this second war wasn’t a war of equal weapons that depended on how many witches/wizards were on each side and how strong their morale was. It would rotate around the battle between the two protagonists, and its outcome would crucially depend on Harry, the MVP. As Dumbledore states:

We have protected him because it has been essential to teach him, toraise him, to let him try his strength, said Dumbledore, his eyesstill tight shut. Meanwhile, the connection between them grows everstronger, a parasitic growth: Sometimes I have thought he suspects ithimself. If I know him, he will have arranged matters so that when hedoes set out to meet his death, it will truly mean the end ofVoldemort.

Since Voldemort’s moves were kinda foreseeable , the most important variable to keep under control was Harry, and Dumbledore did make sure that Harry would make the right steps, also by selecting the pieces of information he would give him :

His Death Was Foreshadowed In Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban

While enjoying Christmas dinner in the third book, Professor Trelawney freaked out because she believed that, should she join the table, it would mean 13 people would be seated and so the first person to stand would be the first to die. What she didnt realise was that there were already 13 witches and wizards sat at the table, if you included Peter Pettigrew in Rons pocket

Dumbledore stood up to greet Trelawney, therefore making him the first of the 13 to get up from dinner. Sure, it could be a coincidence, or it could have been a nod about Dumbledores fate from J.K. Rowling. Clever!

Is Snape A Bad Guy

Dumbledore knew the score

During Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Snape uses his Patronus to lead Harry to the sword of Gryffindor. … After Voldemort killed her, Snape secretly changed sides and agreed to help Dumbledore protect Harry from Voldemort. With all of this, it seems that the answer is clear: Snape is a good person.

To Make Voldemort Trusts Severus Snape

The second reason why did Dumbledore have to die is to make Voldemort trusts Severus Snape. After being a double agent and is about to lose Voldemorts trust, Dumbledore sacrifices himself as a solid proof of Snapes loyalty towards the Dark Lord.

We may always think of Snape as a bad person, but instead Snape tries to protect Harry Potter and works together with Dumbledore to keep all the secrets. Snape later in the sixth book is also revealed as the Half-Blood Prince.

What Spell Killed Bellatrix

She is mine!” Bellatrix then started taunting Mrs Weasley over her son’s death, proceeding to laugh at Molly’s enraged response that the Death Eater “will never touch our children again!”. This provided an opening for Molly to strike Bellatrix with a curse that hit her straight in the heart, killing her.

Why Does Dumbledore Die In A Way That Portrays Him As Weak

I have absolutely no intention of being sent to Azkaban. I could break out, of course – but what a waste of time, and frankly, I can think of a whole host of things I would rather be doing.Dumbledore in the Order of the Phoenix

This, and many more instances, show us that Dumbledore was an immensely powerful wizard and was the only person Voldemort was afraid of.

However, Dumbledore chose to die at Snape’s hand rather than suffering through the curse of Gaunt’s ring. This would leave the impression that this immensely powerful wizard could not defend himself against Snape and a couple of other Death Eaters.

Since the truth didn’t come out until the end, this would leave those who admired him with the belief that Voldemort’s forces are far more powerful than they thought, disheartening them and making them less inclined to fight back

Why would he choose to do this?

Harry Potters Death In The Movie

Why Dumbledore Is ALIVE and How Snape FAKED His Death – Harry Potter Theory

It turns out, Harry actually had to die to eventually defeat Voldemort in the end.

This is because he was made into a Horcrux when the dark wizard tried to murder him as an infant.

As long as he was alive, so was the dark wizard.

This leads the young Potter to willingly give himself up to Voldemort as a sacrifice to help end the war.

He ends up dying in the scene by the woods and meets with Albus Dumbledore in the next world.

Since the Resurrection Stone was in his possession during this time, he was able to come back and eventually put an end to Voldemort.

This is convenient as no one else seems brave or powerful enough to put a stop to the evil magician.

Otherwise, it would be a much darker world.

Even If Dumbledore Would Be Able To Come Back He Wouldnt This Is One Of The Primary Points Of The Books

Although I agree with the other answers that the questioner seems to have misunderstood the Hallows, I want to point out that even if Dumbledore would have been able to come back, he wouldnt.

The primary theme of Harry Potter is about overcoming the fear of death:

Death is an extremely important theme throughout all seven books. I would say possibly the most important theme.

Voldemorts main personality trait, and the one that defines him the most, is his fear of death.

Voldemorts fear is death, ignominious death. I mean, he regards death itself as ignominious. He thinks that its a shameful human weakness, as you know. His worst fear is death, but how would a boggart show that? Im not too sure. I did think about that because I knew you were going to ask me that.

There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore! snarled Voldemort.

This is also his greatest weakness:

Your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness

In fact all the bad guys primary traits seem to be based on fear of death

Death Eaters

Only innocent lives, Peter! You dont understand! whined Pettigrew. He would have killed me, Sirius!

However, the defining characteristic of the good guys is their willingness to embrace death. This is evident from the first book:

This is expressed in many other places in the books as well, but heres one of my favorite quotes:

And Snape becomes good only when he seems to embrace death:

Which Harry Potter Does Snape Die

Snape dies at the hands of Lord Voldemort in the seventh book, at which time his back story is revealed. Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

When Dumbledore died I screamed and threw my book across ...

In the second novel, a younger Dumbledore appears in a series of flashbacks, seen by Harry in a diary once owned by Tom Riddle, the most gifted student in Hogwarts’ history – and the future Lord Voldemort. Through the diary, Harry sees Riddles memory of Dumbledore questioning him about a series of attacks on Muggle-born students. In the present, Lucius Malfoy forces the school’s other 11 governors to suspend Dumbledore as Headmaster in the wake of attacks by a basilisk in the school when the Chamber of Secrets is opened. Dumbledore is reinstated when the governors discover that Ginny Weasley was taken into the Chamber of Secrets and Lucius is found to have coerced the other governors into suspending him.

Why Did Dumbledore Give Harry The Invisibility Cloak

Harry Potter receiving the Cloak of Invisibility on Christmas Day 1991 Ten years later, Dumbledore gave Harry Potter the Cloak of Invisibility as a Christmas present anonymously and told him to use it well. It Released The Elder Wand

The Elder Wand, another of the Deathly Hallows, was the most powerful wand in existence. Passed on through battle, Dumbledore had commanded it for over 50 years after his defeat of Grindelwald in 1945.

Voldermort knew that he couldnt control the wand unless his former headmaster was defeated. Dumbledore knew that he had to avoid defeat to ensure that the wand stayed out of the Dark Wizards hands. Events didnt go as either of them planned.

Dumbledores quest for Voldemorts Horcruxes had severely weakened the old wizard. Before Snape seized on Malfoys hesitation and killed Dumbledore, the young wizard had already managed to disarm his headmaster. In doing so, Malfoy unwittingly became master of the Elder Wand. The events of Deathly Hallows suggest that this couldnt possibly be part of Dumbledores plan, since it eventually led to Snapes death as Voldermort sought control of the wand.

However, this proved to be a misdirection that kept that power from Voldermorts grasp even after he had retrieved the Elder Wand from Dumbledores grave. Voldemort hadnt realized that Draco had been able to disarm Dumbledore. Harry Potter later took control of the Elder Wand when he defeated Draco during the Battle of Hogwarts.

James And Lily Potter

Avris » Dumbledore was killed by... Voldemort?
James had shown it to me just a few days previously. It explained much of his undetected wrongdoing at school
Albus Dumbledore to Harry Potter

James and Lily Potter, his friends and former students

Dumbledore first met James Potter and Lily Evans during their first year at Hogwarts, where he was the Headmaster. Dumbledore had a good relationship with both of them, knowing them both to be pure souls. James had lent Dumbledore his Invisibility Cloak one of the three Deathly Hallows. After James’s death Dumbledore returned the cloak to James’s son, Harry.

When the Potters became Voldemort’s targets due to a prophecy made about their son and the Dark Lord, Dumbledore attempted to protect them by casting the Fidelius Charm and offering to be their Secret Keeper, but the role of Secret Keeper went instead to Peter Pettigrew, which turned out to be a fatal mistake, as Peter turned out to be a spy, and he betrayed Lily and James to Voldemort, who killed them. Dumbledore was very saddened by their deaths and dedicated the rest of his life to protecting their son, Harry, without giving him any happiness in his childhood. He often told Harry about the great goodness of his parents, and repeatedly consoled him with the assurance that his parents would never ever truly leave him because of their love for him. Dumbledore also believed that Harry’s love for his parents was his greatest power.

He Also May Have Been Too Weak To Do Much Different

Dumbledore was quite weak after having drank the potion in the Horcrux bowl. Harry had to Apparate him back, and he was so weak at that point, hed collapsed on the ground.

Ive been better, said Dumbledore weakly, though the corners of his mouth twitched. That potion was no health drink

And to Harrys horror, Dumbledore sank on to the ground. – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Chapter 27

He did actively choose not to fight that being when hed be killed, since hed immobilized Harry so he couldnt help fight, but that may have also been in part because Dumbledore knew he was in no shape to fight himself out of the situation even when Harrys help. He was in bad shape, and he knew dying at some point soon was inevitable, so he probably didnt consider it worth the effort to try fighting, possibly fail, and possibly die in a different way than hed intended and ruining his plan.

He didn’t care

I think there were several different reasons that he chose to die, first, this might be a minor one and possibly nonexistent but he was greedy and chose to die to rid himself of the ever worsening world and he was also very very very old so he was probably declining in power and wanted to settle down and have some peace which was seemingly lacking throughout his life and was too prideful to actually die in combat so he made one of his minions kill him so that word would spread that he chose death rather than dying in combat or at the hand of Voldemort.
