Kloves started work on the second part’s script in April 2009, after the first part’s script was completed.Deathly Hallows Part 2 was filmed back-to-back with Deathly Hallows Part 1 from 19 February 2009 to 12 June 2010, and treated as if it were one film during principal photography. Reshoots were confirmed to begin in the winter of 2010 for the film’s final, and epilogue scenes, which had originally taken place at London King’s Cross station. The filming took place at Leavesden Film Studios on 21 December 2010, marking the end of the Harry Potter series after ten years of filming.
The film had its world premiere on 7 July 2011 in Trafalgar Square in London, and a U.S. premiere on 11 July at Lincoln Center in New York City. Although filmed in 2D, the film was converted into 3D in post-production and was released in both RealD 3D and IMAX 3D, becoming the first film in the series to be released in this format. The film was released on 15 July in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Would The Harry Potter Cast Return
While recasting the beloved original cast of the Harry Potter franchise would prove a challenging endeavor, the studio might have to for story continuity. The characters are considerably older in the play Harry, Ron and Hermione are in their late 30s, so the original three actors of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are still a bit too young-looking to convincingly be just a stone’s throw away from 40.
Another thing to consider is how Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was originally cast, which had caused inevitable controversy back in 2016: Hermione Grangers role was given to a Black actress, which Rowling defended by saying that Hermiones skin color had never been described in detail in the novels. If the studio decides to go with that new canon, they should lean into fully recasting every role.
Jk Rowling: Harry Potter Author To Release Four New Magical Books
Heads up Harry Potter fans! Author JK Rowling has written not one, but FOUR new books about the wizarding world.
These books won’t be stories of Harry and his adventures, but they will be a factual series about the subjects he and his friends studied at Hogwarts.
The books, which will be released as short e-books, will explore the “traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the series”.
Official fan site Pottermore has released the names of the books, some of which will be released at the end of June:

Jk Rowling Explains Why Harry Potter 9 Will Never Happen
The Eighth Story is probably the last story in Harry Potters timeline, meaning that Harry Potter 9 wont be happening.
Speaking at the Broadway opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Sunday, J.K. Rowling said she doesnt expect to continue moving the story forward by creating a Harry Potter Book 9. The events in The Cursed Child penned by her, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany are as far as she ever envisioned the series going, she says.
I think we really have now told, in terms of moving the story forward, the story that I, in the back of my mind, wanted to tell, she said. I think its quite obvious, in the seventh book, in the epilogue, that Albus is the character Im most interested in. And I think weve done the story justice. So I think pushing it on to Harrys grandchildren really would be quite a cynical move, and Im not interested in doing that.
The Cursed Child picks up virtually right where the Epilogue in 2007s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows left off, with Albus Severus Potter and his soon-to-be friends heading off to Hogwarts. The story quickly jumps ahead a few years to a point where Albus and his lover friend Scorpius cause some serious trouble.
Rowling made the comments to Variety, and in the same report its revealed that the author has seen the show a whopping 16 times. Assuming she means Parts 1 and 2, that means shes spent 80 hours watching her baby on stage.

If you’ve only seen the movies and are hoping to dive into the Harry Potter books next, you may be surprised to see some differences. These changes aren’t massive in the grand scheme of things, and they mostly revolve around exposition or daily life in Hogwarts. For instance, the creators of the Marauder’s Map get a lot more coverage in the Prisoner of Azkaban novel. Minor characters and subplots are left out of the films, too – Peeves the Poltergeist is a good example.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the eighth official story in the Harry Potter series, is a two-part play written by Jack Thorne based on an original story by J.K. Set 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the play debuted in Londons West End in 2016 before heading to Broadway in 2018, where it remains a hit.

Though the rumor seemed viable, given that it put plenty of distance between now and when this potential trilogy would take place, J.K. Hogwarts Legacy Video Game
Besides mobile games and various LEGO games over the years, there hasnt been a proper Harry Potter game since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 back in 2011. That will all change in 2022 with the release of the long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy role-playing video game under development at Warner Bros.-owned Avalanche Software. According to a January report from GamesRadar,, the game was originally scheduled to be released at some point in 2021, but now wont come out until some point in 2022 due to delays.. Not much is known about the game outside of the fact it is an RPG set in the 1800s, but more details will surely be available in the coming months.

LONDON, England, United Kingdom Its not the end for Harry Potter fans! The series author, J.K. Rowling, is providing readers with a new look into the magical wizarding world.
In 2011, Rowling launched Pottermore, an immersive website that quickly grew into a large content and e-commerce platform. Then, in 2018, after the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, Rowling announced that there would not be another Harry Potter story.
According to Pottermore, however, a new series of Harry Potter e-books will be released this summer.
The new stories will be available online. All of them will focus on life and classes at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. The stories include lessons about the care of magical creatures, defense against the dark arts, astronomy, potions and herbology.
There will be four e-book shorts. Rowling has released their titles:
- Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures
- Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts
- Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy

The Fantastic Beasts series is surrounded by controversy and has somewhat underperformed overall compared to its predecessor.
