His Father Was Sentenced To Life In Azkaban

Its revealed in the seventh Harry Potter book that Ariana Dumbledore was attacked by a group of Muggles who saw her practicing magic.

After this event, Albus father, Percival Dumbledore, took justice into his own hands and sought revenge on his daughters Muggle attackers which was highly condemned by the Ministry of Magic.

Percival worried that revealing the truth of the Muggle attack to the authorities would get Ariana sent away for using underage magic, so instead, he accepted a life sentence in Azkaban prison, where he eventually died.

This was a big shock to fans, as there is no mention of another Dumbledore brother in the original Harry Potter series.

There is an element of suspicion around the claim however, as it was Grindelwald who said it, and so we have to take his word for it. Hopefully the new film will explain what’s going on here, and whether Credence is actually a part of the Dumbledore family after all. Could this be what the ‘secret’ in the title is referring to?

Albus appears to be taking a bit of a back-seat role in the fight against Grindelwald in the trailer, which could be because of the blood pact he made with the other wizard that they can never duel one another.

Instead, Dumbledore bands a team together to go on a dangerous mission to bring Grindelwald down.

To do this, he recruits Newt’s help to lead “a magizoologist, his indispensable assistant, a wizard descended from a very old family, a school teacher and a muggle”. Or in other words, Newt himself, Bunty , Yusuf Kama , Eulalie Hicks and Jacob Kowalski .

Jacob, the lovable muggle in question, is even gifted his very own wand, supposedly to help with the monumental task ahead!

While Dumbledore, Newt and company figure out how they’re going to fight Grindelwald, it seems as though the evil wizard hasn’t been idle either, and has been spending his time attracting quite the following.

… there are LOTS of magical creatures!

Welcome Back To Hogsmeade

Justice League casts Game of Thrones Ciaran Hinds as ...

One of the opening shots of the trailer shows Newt Scamander and his brother Theseus strolling through a snowy village of tall houses with even taller chimneys. This is very clearly Hogsmeade, a small village on the outskirts of Hogwarts which is home to a number of little shops and several pubs like The Three Broomsticks and The Hog’s Head Inn. It’s certainly not the first time the village has shown up in the “Wizarding World” franchise, as it is first introduced in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.”

Hogwarts students have to get permission from their parents or guardians to visit Hogsmeade on their days off, but Harry doesn’t get his form signed by the Dursleys. That’s why Fred and George Weasley give the Boy Who Lived the Marauder’s Map in the third film, which he uses to sneak down to Hogsmeade through one of the secret passages out of Hogwarts castle.

It’s interesting that Hogsmeade is Newt and Theseus’ first port of call rather than Hogwarts, but clearly their latest mission is a dangerous one. Luckily they find someone there who’s able to point them in the right direction.

Is Grindelwald Stronger Than Voldemort

Voldemort and Grindelwald were both great at dueling, but Grindelwald surpasses the Dark Lord. Voldemort dueled Dumbledore, but Dumbledore always had the upper hand. … However, Grindelwald managed to duel Dumbledore when he was much younger and more vibrant. Their duel was so epic that it became the stuff of legend.

Could This Be Fawkes

One magical creature above all that has played a significant part in the corner of the wizarding world we Muggles have been lucky enough to see is the elusive phoenix. Seen halfway through the teaser, the bird on fire swoops over the head of Credence Barebone with its wingtips slightly lit. According to Newt Scamander’s book, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” phoenixes nest at the top of mountain peaks, suggesting that Barebones has climbed to this snowy cliff face in search of one. The only concern is for what reason, given the bird’s numerous magical properties.

Phoenix tears possess powerful healing properties, as shown in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.” Not only that, but any wizard who is lucky enough to have a phoenix feather at the center of their wand is a force to be reckoned with. Two feathers belonging to Dumbledore’s own phoenix, Fawkes, eventually wound up in the wands of two of history’s most powerful wizards: Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Keeping that in mind, could Credence’s new encounter actually be the bird that will end up under the protection of Dumbledore himself? We’re getting fired up to find out.

Harry Potter And The Half

In the sixth book, Dumbledore fetches Harry from Privet Drive and takes him to persuade Horace Slughorn to rejoin the Hogwarts staff. Harry notices that Dumbledore’s right hand is shrivelled and black. During the school year, Dumbledore teaches Harry of events in Voldemort’s past that he feels are of immense importance. Using the Pensieve, they visit the memories of others, which contain important information about Voldemort’s life and his genocidal rise to power. While using the pensieve, Harry sees a vision of Dumbledore’s first encounter with the young Tom Riddle Dumbledore had known from the beginning that the boy was dangerous, but believed that Hogwarts would change him.

It is learned that Voldemort created six Horcruxes to gain immortality and that they must all be destroyed before Harry goes after the final piece of Voldemort’s soul in the Dark Lord’s body. Harry also repeatedly warns Dumbledore in most of their lessons that school bully Draco Malfoy is working for Voldemort. Dumbledore refuses to take any action against Draco, and instead tells Harry that he already knows more about what is happening than Harry does.

He’s 26 During The Events Of Crimes Of Grindelwald

Ciarán Hinds Talks “Aberforth Dumbledore” In ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2’

According to the script of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the voyage where Aurelius was switched from his crib took place in 1901. Considering that Aurelius appeared to be a newborn during this voyage, there’s a very good chance that 1901 was also the year that he was born.

Considering that The Crimes of Grindelwald takes place in 1927, that would make Aurelius about 26 years old. This actually makes quite a bit of sense as his actor, Ezra Miller, is also currently 26. While this is a bit older than some fans thought he was in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them , the timeline still fits perfectly fine, even if it means that he was still living in his foster home in his mid-20s.

He’s One Of The Last Dumbledores

While the Dumbledore family was historically a well known family in the Wizarding World, the generation including Albus and Aurelius is actually the final generation of the family. Ariana did not live long enough to have children, Albus never had kids before he passed away in the 1990s, and Aberforth was single for his entire life. This means that Aurelius is one of the final members of the Dumbledore family to ever live.

It was briefly recorded that Albus had an aunt named Honoria, but Honoria, much like Aberforth, never married or started a family as far as we know. All things considered, Aurelius Dumbledore has quite the legacy to live up to in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts movies.

After ten years and seven movies, the Harry Potter franchise came to an end in 2011 with the release of Deathly Hallows Part 2. The movie follows Harry’s last stand against Voldemort, culminating in a massive battle in Hogwarts castle. Hinds plays Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus’ younger brother and one of the strongest members of the First Order of the Phoenix, who plays a pivotal role in helping Harry come to terms with the headmaster’s life and death.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 received universal acclaim from critics and audiences, who deemed it a worthy and appropriately epic ending to the beloved franchise.

Credence Is A Dumbledore

Instead of being Albus’ brother, Credence/Aurelius is much more likely to be Dumbledore’s son – a secret love child that only Grindelwald ever knew about. Dumbledore was born in 1881, thus making him about 19 years old when Credence/Aurelius was born. It’s possible that Dumbledore could’ve fathered a child around the time, and perhaps chose not to be with the young witch after she became pregnant. The prophecy about Credence/Aurelius describes him as “a son cruelly banished,” which perfectly fits with a child sent back to America after Dumbledore didn’t want him. Perhaps the woman on the ship with them was actually his mother, not his aunt, or was an aunt sent to collect the child after his mother died in childbirth.

With Credence/Aurelius being born in 1901, it’s also probable that Dumbledore’s affair with Credence’s mother was going on in 1899 at almost the same time that he was with Grindelwald – or, as Grindelwald fled at the end of their summer together, after Ariana was killed, immediately afterward. Rowling confirmed that Dumbledore was in love with Grindelwald locked in grief over the loss of both his lover and his family, did Dumbledore turn elsewhere for affection and comfort? And, having done so, did he write to Grindelwald and tell him about the situation?

Nymphadora Tonks Natalia Tena

Tonks may have been sidelined in the Harry Potter films more than we would have liked, but Natalia Tena did a wonderful job with what she had. Her talents did not go to waste, as she moved on to star in another hugely popular fantasy series, Game of Thrones. Tena also co-starred in Origins alongside a fellow Harry Potter cast member, Tom Felton. Unfortunately, Youtube did not pick up the show for a second season. Most recently she joined yet another massive franchise, having appeared in an episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+.

He Was Too Afraid To Leave His Foster Home

One of the more confusing aspects of the Crimes of Grindelwald timeline is the fact that Credence appeared to be 25 during the events of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, where he still lived in his foster home. Initially, many fans thought that Credence was only about 18 during the events of the first Fantastic Beasts, but the fact that he was 25 actually reveals a bit more about where his character was emotionally.

In America, most foster kids are allowed to leave their home once they are 18, but this wasn’t the case of Credence. More than likely, his adoptive mother, Mary Lou Barebone, brainwashed him to fear the outside world for his entire childhood. It’s also possible that Mary Lou never even allowed Credence the option to leave, considering how abusive she was in the movie.

Small Details You Missed In The Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore Trailer

The path of “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” hasn’t been an easy one, as big-budget productions go. The high-profile recasting of central antagonist Gellert Grindelwald from Johnny Depp to Mads Mikkelsen has made plenty of headlines, but even though such a production hurdle might be a threat to some movies, the new trailer for “The Secrets of Dumbledore” makes it clear that the movie has plenty to bring on the table, regardless of casting choices.

The third installment in the franchise appears to be very much its own beast, as Newt Scamander teams up with none other than Albus Dumbledore and a ragtag group of wizards and muggles, in order to deal with the threat of Grindelwald and the dangerously powerful wild card, Credence Barebone . However, it looks like things are going to be considerably more complicated than your average battle between good and evil, judging by the sheer amount of hints and mysteries the trailer hides.

Let’s take a look at some of the small details you might have missed in the “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” trailer.

The Room Of Requirement Returns

The Room of Requirement is one of the most fascinating parts of “Harry Potter” lore. House Elf Dobby tells Harry about this secret room, which only appears when a person is in great need of it. It doesn’t appear on any maps, even the Marauder’s Map, and cannot be found unless you know exactly what you are looking for. The room was later used by Dumbledore’s Army in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” when Neville Longbottom and other members hid out there after Death Eaters infiltrated Hogwarts.

We see the Room of Requirement here in the trailer, marking its first appearance in the chronological “Harry Potter” canon. At 1:51, we see Dumbledore standing in front of a floating cylindrical vessel, as we hear Jacob Kowalski ask in awe, “What is this place?”

“The room we require,” responds Newt Scamander . We will have to wait, though, to see exactly what this group requires.

Ciaran Hinds On Playing Aberforth Dumbledore In The Last Harry Potter

What Did Aberforth Dumbledore Do with Goats? – Harry Potter Theory

Ciaran Hinds: What’s interesting I think now is that there was obviously a friction between the two brothers. And they’re separated, because they have nothing in common together. But at the same time Aberforth, who had played the other brother, he helps him. So his commitment to the cause is there. It’s just not particularly done with good grace.

O, it’s fantastic! It’s really, as you were to see three super talented young actors who really knew who they were as well. It was myself who didn’t know really who I was. And they were so relaxed. And very welcoming as well. Because when you come onto a new set and you’re there and you have most of the dialog in the scene.and of course you’re a bit nervous, oh, what’s gonna happen. And Daniel and Emma and Rupert, they were just very sweet. Very calm. Very easy. So in fact it was quite a joy to play.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

In the opening chapter of the first novel of the series, Dumbledore arrives at number four, Privet Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey. When the evil wizard Lord Voldemort kills Harry’s parents before being reduced to a lesser form, Dumbledore decides to place the now-orphaned Harry in the home of Vernon and Petunia Dursley. He knows that Harry will be protected by the special magic caused by his mother’s sacrifice. He reasons that they are the only family he has left with Petunia Evans Dursley being Harry’s aunt, who accepting her nephew into their home. This old magic of binding love renders Voldemort incapable of touching Harry. Dumbledore leaves Harry upon the doorstep of the Dursley home with a letter explaining the situation. He departs with the final phrase, “Good luck, Harry.”

Rowling Vaguely Teased Aurelius’s Existence Back In 2005

In an interview back in 2005, J.K. Rowling briefly brought up that there is a deeper story for the Dumbledore family than she had revealed at the time, saying, “Dumbledore’s family would be a profitable line of inquiry, more profitable than sweet wrappers.” Rowling than said she would say nothing more on the matter.

While most people later presumed she was talking about the revelation regarding Ariana and Aberforth in The Deathly Hallows, which released two years later, their inclusion in the book wasn’t exactly “profitable.” However, a five-part movie franchise focusing on Dumbledore’s incredibly powerful younger brother does fit the definition of “profitable.” Though it’s unclear if this is actually what Rowling was referring to back in 2005, the author is known for planning ahead, so it’s certainly possible.
