The best book of the series goes to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is extremely well-written and follows a series of incredible twists and turns that keep the readers attention and keeps us guessing every step of the way.
We learn about Harrys journey during his third year at Hogwarts and meet the only prisoner of Azkaban who has ever escaped Sirius Black.
At first, Harry thinks that Sirius is a Death Eater who wants to kill him, instead of his loving godfather. Because of this, Harry and Sirius have a complex history and relationship, but we are thrilled along with Harry to learn that he does have some family left alive.
This book feels more dark and twisted than the rest. For this reason and countless others, it deserves the first spot on the list.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald embodies everything wrong with the continued expansion of the Harry Potter universe. The Harry Potter prequel could have explored a whole new corner of the wondrous world Rowling once built. Instead Grindelwald plays like a cash grab. Rowlings script tries to connect just about every new character it introduces in some forced, hackneyed and occasionally racist way to the characters we know and love from the original Harry Potter films. But the revelation that one character will eventually become a snake or that another is a long-lost relative of Albus Dumbledore only muddles the canon.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: For The Selfless Warriors
It cant be denied that Harry, Ron and Hermione were pretty selfless in the seventh book. Leaving the hallowed halls of Hogwarts behind, they embarked on a task set for them by Dumbledore that seemed at times both thankless and impossible. Youd need determination to thrive in this book, a strong sense of right and wrong, a pretty thick skin remember all that freezing cold camping they did? and also a sense that the world is bigger than you as an individual. This story would definitely suit you if youre a team player and want to do whats right, no matter how difficult. You should also be the kind of person who isnt afraid to confront their fears destroying Horcruxes isnt all about being able to wield the sword of Gryffindor or a Basilisk fang, its about showing inner strength. If youve got that then Deathly Hallows could be the book for you.

An impossible escape from a high-security wizard prison. A dead man walking the halls of Hogwarts on a map that never lies. A rat that has been in the Weasley family for twelve years. And a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher who is afraid of the moon. Youd be best suited to solving the mystery of Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew if you have a keen eye for small detail a missing toe on a rat or a friendship between a cat and a big black dog, perhaps? Like Hermione, youd suit this story if youre the kind of student who really does their homework remember how she looked up the Ministry register of Animagi? Thats some commitment. This story has some mind-boggling time-turning magic in it so precision and cool intellect is absolutely key if you want to succeed in Prisoner of Azkaban.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
Ah, Deathly Hallows, Part 1: perhaps the most divisive movie in the franchise. How do you feel about watching three teenagers bicker in the forest for a few hours? What if two of those characters take a dance break seemingly designed to enrage or tantalize fans, depending on which characters you ship?
There are things to adore in this movie, like the breathtaking animation of the Tale of the Three Brothers. And director David Yates does beautifully capture the frustrations of Harrys Horcrux mission. The scenes in which Harry, Ron and Hermione aimlessly walk through empty fields and abandoned parking lots, a fuzzy voice on the radio rattling off the names of the dead as they wander capture the book perfectly.
But Part 1 spends very little time during those quiet conversations exploring who Dumbledore was and his connection to the Deathly Hallows, three magical tools that are crucial to the final fight in the following film. That may seem like nerdy nitpicking. But good genre fiction distinguishes itself from bad genre fiction by imbuing its McGuffins with actual meaning. If Harry doesnt have a personal connection to the Elderwand through Dumbledore, then hes just chasing some meaningless shiny object. Such scenes also could have given the audience more time with Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort, who shines in Part 2 as one of the greatest onscreen villains of all time.

Basically the seven Harry Potter books are fantasy novels written by a British author, J K Rowling.
The books are about the adventures of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. The three are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The three friends are eleven when the first book begins and nearly eighteen at the end of the final book in the series.

Harry Potter And The Half
The penultimate book in the series was met with some mixed reviews. We all knew the kinds of things that lay ahead for Harry after the events of Order of the Phoenix, but we didnt think Harrys personal life would play such an important role. Book Six is important, because we learn more than we ever wanted to know about how far Voldemort has strayed from a normal wizards path. We follow along as Harry and Dumbledore adventure into the mind of Voldemort and look for proof that he has truly fallen into the deepest end of dark magic.
And that is exactly what we find. Horcruxes and death litter Voldemorts post-Hogwarts days, and learning that history prepares us to enjoy The Deathly Hallows in all its glory. Without Half-Blood Prince, we would have no hope of enjoying the final story, but it does suffer a bit from penultimate syndrome, in that it is somewhat satisfying, but leaves you with more questions than answers stepping into the final chapter of this saga. Yes, watching Harry embrace his feelings for Ginny is great fun, but knowing that a showdown between Harry and Voldemort looms lessens the heartening impact of their teenage love story.

The Harry Potter series is a masterpiece, and in my opinion, the best young adult fantasy series ever written. Each of the books is incredible in its way and together form the complete story. These books are timeless and will forever hold a special place in millions of readers hearts.

By the time we arrived at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows we were all more than a little invested in this magical tale. The burden this story had to carry was dense, moving us from the end of Half-Blood Prince with Dumbledores death and Snapes defection to an ending that would feel justified, satisfactory, and make reading the previous 6 books in this series worth it. We knew that Harry was going to have to face Voldemort mano a mano, yes, but there is a lot of road left to travel before that final confrontation can and will be possible.
This book faced a task so monumental in finishing this saga, but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows does it with incredible flare and in remarkably satisfying ways. Not only do we get the ultimate showdown in a place that means so much to both of these great men, but we finally have the chance to watch equals battle it out for the survival of not only themselves, but for the fate of the wizarding world.

Over the span of ten years, British author J.K. Rowling brought a world of witchcraft and wizardry to life with the Harry Potter series. The adventures of wizarding savior Harry Potter have since become a staple of pop culture and a source of comfort and inspiration in the lives of many. This series is one of my favorite stories ever told, which is why I recently decided to reread all of the books.
As I relived Rowlings creation in those pages, I started thinking about which book would be my favorite, if I had to choose. While I love all seven installments in the series, some stand out above others. Without further ado, here is my definitive, 100% correct ranking of the Harry Potter series.
7: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
The first book in the series, Sorcerers Stone builds the foundation of the fantasy world in which Hogwarts resides, and it does its job well. Harry establishes relationships with characters who will remain constants over the next six books, and the underlying theme of good vs. evil is evident in Harrys experiences in his first year at Hogwarts. Besides introducing the reader to the main characters and elements of the story, Sorcerers Stone does not have as much to provide in terms of extraordinary storytelling as other chapters of the series.

Fortunately, Harry Potter isnt one of those series like Star Wars has a sprawling number of canon novels, film novelizations, reference books, and comics to read. Instead, its a finite universe which makes catching up on it much easier. We recommend reading the main series chronologically so that you can see Harry and his friends grow up. Then if youre still thirsting for more of the Wizarding World you can see where your interests most strongly lie , and start again there.
If you still havent read Harry Potter, just know that its never too late to start and even for those who have, youre never too old to go back and relive the magic.
