I grew up with Harry Potter. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was my favourite book in second grade, soon after it had been published in the US. Over the years I eagerly devoured each book whenever a new one was released. I went to midnight book release parties, queueing up to finally get a book in hand by 2am and then going home to read the rest of the night and following day. You better believe I went to the midnight movie showings too. To this day I am still a massive Harry Potter fan, and the world JK Rowling created is a comforting and familiar place for me to enter again and again.

Cost Of Harry Potter World Tickets

If youre wondering, just how much are tickets to Harry Potter World Orlando?, the answer is a little bit complicated. With Harry Potter lands in both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, if you want to visit the entire Wizarding World in Orlando, you cant just buy standard Universal Orlando tickets. Youll need either a 2-Park 1 Day Ticket or a multiday ticket.

If you only have 1 day at Universal Orlando and you want to go to both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, Park-to-Park access is key, as it allows you to get into both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure on the same day. 2-Park 1 Day Tickets start at $164 for adults and $159 for children ages 3 to 9.

If you have multiple days in the Wizarding World and the rest of the Universal parks, then getting a Park-to-Park ticket is nice, but not necessary. 2-Park 2-Day Tickets start at $106.50 per day for adults and $101.50 per day for children. 2-Park 2-Day Tickets start at $136.50 per day for adults and $131.50 per day for children.

In general, if youd like to spend some time in Harry Potter World as well as going on rides in the rest of the parks, especially if this is your first time visiting, wed recommend you spend at least one day each at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. If this isnt your first time to Universal Orlando and the Wizarding World, all you care about is Harry Potter World, or you simply dont have the time, then you can get by with only one day as long as you can park hop.

Buy A Park Hopper And Universal Express Pass

The Universal Express pass is imperative if you wish to do both Harry Potter worlds in one day to skip the very long wait times. There are two types of express passes: the Universal Express Standard and the Universal Express Unlimited. The standard pass allows you to skip the line one time per ride each day the unlimited pass allows you to skip the line as many times as you want. However, because you will be walking through the shorter queue instead of the regular long queue, youll miss some of the items on display to keep you occupied. There are some unique items in the shorter line as well, so dont worry about missing too much!

Its such an amazing attraction, its one of our favorite coasters not just at Universal Orlando Resortbut anywhere.

Construction of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter began seven months after the official announcement, in January 2008. By July, the Flying Unicorn and Enchanted Oak Tavern were closed. The Flying Unicorn then began an almost two-year refurbishment which transformed it into the Flight of the Hippogriff. The Enchanted Oak Tavern was later demolished. A bridge was built to connect The Lost Continent with Jurassic Park allowing guests to avoid the construction zone that was to become the Wizarding World. Construction progressed with the Hogwarts Castle slowly taking shape. By September 2008, the Dueling Dragons entrance was moved to Jurassic Park to make room for construction of Hogsmeade. One month later, the old entrance was demolished. By September 2009, the top shell of Hogwarts Castle was completed. On September 15, an announcement was made detailing what was going to be included in the Wizarding World. In early 2010, Universal increased its marketing of the area, which included newspaper advertisements, billboards and television commercials. The Dueling Dragons were closed for some maintenance before being transformed into the Dragon Challenge. Construction was completed by June 1, 2010, when the area began soft openings.

From the book: Buckbeak the Hippogriff is a touchy creature and must be approached cautiously. He demands courtesy but can be buttered up with some recently deceased poultry. Once making Buckbeaks acquaintance, he will take you on a glorious ride around the castle.

The attraction: The Flight of the Hippogriff is a fun, but mild roller coaster ride. Its suitable for all but the smallest kids. Hagrid is on hand to introduce you to Buckbeak. But the ride doesnt require you to blow politely before getting on. Nor does the ride require the payment of a dead chicken. Bummer cause I had one in my bag just in case.

Tips For Riding The Hogwarts Express At Universal Orlando

The Hogwarts Express connects the two theme park areas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Because it technically takes you from one of Universals parks to the other, youll need a Park-to-Park ticket to ride the train. While the ride itself lasts less than five minutes, the lines can also grow pretty long as the day wears on, but a Universal Express pass will cut your wait time drastically.

You can board the train at Hogsmeade Station in Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure or Kings Cross Station in the London area of Universal Studios Florida. Each train cars windows are not actually windows, but screens that make you feel as if youre actually making the same journey Harry did to and from school. Because of this, the experience is a bit different in both directions, but both have scenery, characters, and magical creatures from the films. Take the train both directions if you can.

Early park admission is essential to truly enjoying the Harry Potter World and its a perk offered to all guests staying at a hotel on Universal Property. So, if you book a night at the Hard Rock Hotel like we did , you can enter the park an hour earlier than general admission. Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a new immersive coaster experience, which sounds amazing! More than 1,000 trees were planted to recreate the Forbidden Forest and theres multiple ways to experience the ride depending on if youre on the motorbike or in the side-car.
