Inspiration And Mother’s Death
Rowling worked as a researcher and bilingual secretary in London for , then moved with her boyfriend to Manchester where she worked at the Chamber of Commerce. In 1990, she was on a four-hour delayed train trip from Manchester to London when the idea “came fully formed” into her mind for a story of a young boy attending a school of wizardry. When she reached her flat, she began to write immediately.
In December 1990, Rowling’s mother Anne died after suffering from for ten years. Rowling was writing Harry Potter at the time and had never told her mother about it. Her mother’s death heavily affected Rowling’s writing, and she channelled her own feelings of loss by writing about Harry’s grief in greater detail in the first book.

Rowling’s bestselling series of novels, also boasts one of cinema’s great movie villains in He Who Must Not Be Named, aka Lord Voldemort.
Portrayed by Academy Award-nominated actor Ralph Fiennes, this evil wizard haunted the dreams of children everywhere as a result of his terrifying visage his nose is merely two snake-like slits on his face a complete disregard for compassion or empathy, and tendency to murder innocent people without remorse.
In the films, Voldemort doesn’t fully return to power until the final stages of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” but the character certainly makes the most of his relatively brief screen time and delivers a number of memorable bits of dialogue that resonate with audiences long after the credits roll. Here are the dark wizard’s most unforgettable quotes from the Harry Potter films, many of which offer a unique insight into Voldemort’s broken persona and, in a way, help viewers understand his inner workings a little more clearly.
Noah Schnapp Is Reportedly On The Studios Radar For The Role
WGTC goes on to note that Warner Bros. is reportedly eyeing Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp for the role. Schnapp is best known for portraying Will in the Netflix phenomenon, and has the same pale skin and black hair akin to Tom Riddle, yet does he have what it takes to play Voldemort? Can he rise to the occasion?
Schnapp has also starred in Abe, The Peanuts Movie, Waiting for Anya, Bridge of Spies, and more. Though a relatively new actor in Hollywood, he seems like a good choice, as another familiar face tied to another very familiar TV show may be exactly what this movie needs to get the skeptics on board. If the rumors turn out to be true, heres to wishing Schnapp good luck, as he dares to take on one of the most famous villains of the modern era.

But the new movie has even bigger challenges to face if its going to be a success theres so much Fantastic Beasts 3 controversy out there right now that it could put an Avada Kedavra curse on the saga.
J.K. Rowlings controversial Twitter posts and 3,800-word essay about the transgender community have attracted extensive backlash from Harry Potter fans, with Wizarding World stars including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Eddie Redmayne publicly distancing themselves from the . Johnny Depp was involved in a libel case that made lots of unsavory allegations about his private life and was later kicked from the movie.
Meanwhile, the casting of Korean actress Claudia Kim as Nagini was considered by many to be racially insensitive , and many are upset that Dumbledores much-talked-about romantic relationship with Grindelwald has been invisible on-screen. The franchise has turned into something of a magnet for negative headlines.
So, if all the Fantastic Beasts 3 controversy stops the movie doing the business at the box office, this could be one five-movie franchise that stops at three At least we’d have the Harry Potter TV show to look forward to. For more, check out our list of the best Netflix movies.
The Cup Of Helga Hufflepuff
Hepzibah Smith proved to be important in Voldemort creating not one but two of his seven Horcruxes. She claimed to be a descendent of Helga Hufflepuff and had a cup once owned by her. Helga Hufflepuff was not a founder whom Voldemort particularly related to, but she was a founder nonetheless, so he also took the cup and transformed it into a Horcrux.
It was later hidden in the vault of the Lestrange family. Bellatrix was not only evil and despicable but Voldemort’s most loyal follower and utterly infatuated with him, so she was probably happy to keep it hidden even though he wouldn’t tell her what it was. Hermione destroyed it during the Battle of Hogwarts using the trusty Basilisk fang.

Murdering Hepzibah Smith
- “But before they were sure beyond doubt that the cup and the locket were both gone, the assistant who had worked at Borgin and Burkes, the young man who had visited Hepzibah so regularly and charmed her so well, had resigned his post and vanished. His superiors had no idea where he had gone they were as surprised as anyone at his disappearance. And that was the last that was seen or heard of Tom Riddle for a very long time. ”

Hepzibah Smith shows Riddle Slytherin’s Locket
While working at Borgin and Burkes, Riddle befriended Hepzibah Smith, a wealthy but elderly descendant of Helga Hufflepuff. Between 1955 and 1961, Hepzibah showed Riddle her two most valuable treasures: his ancestor’s locket and her ancestor’s cup. Tom’s eyes flashed red with greed and avarice upon seeing these objects, seeing the locket to be rightfully his as Slytherin’s heir and the cup as a reminder of Hogwarts, as well as a priceless artefact.

Dumbledore’s Relationship With The Dark Arts
Albus Dumbledore was originally portrayed by Richard Harris in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.” After his passing, Michael Gambon took on the mantle of the father figure for Harry. Most recently, Jude Law stepped into the role of a young Dumbledore in the “Fantastic Beasts” series.
Dumbledore was a complex character with quite a backstory. He was considered the greatest wizard of all time and the only one that Voldemort was afraid of. While he was a champion for good and the founder of the Order, Dumbledore had an interesting relationship with the Dark Arts. After the passing of his parents, Dumbledore moved back home to take care of his sick and troubled sister Ariana. It was there that he met Gellert Grindelwald , a wizard whose intellect could match his own.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald formed a relationship and became obsessed with finding the Deathly Hallows, three powerful magical objects that would make the owner the master of death. During this time, it was Dumbledore who coined the phrase, “for the greater good” something that Grindelwald would use as his slogan when becoming a powerful Dark Wizard. After the accidental death of his sister Ariana, Dumbledore realized that power corrupted him and abandoned his search for the Hallows. He never saw Grindelwald again until their legendary duel where Dumbledore won the Deathly Hallow Elder Wand from him.

Now Everyone Feels The Same
Before there was an Edward Cullen, there was Cedric Diggory. They were pretty different from each other but still equally annoying. Sure Cedric didnt have sparkling skin or a taste for blood, but he was an overachiever who seemed to be good at everything and liked by everyone. We all know what happens to those kinds of people in the Harry Potter world. Voldemort wasnt about to give Cedric a chance to help Harry defeat him. He didnt even give him time to introduce himself, let alone raise his wand and defend himself. As soon as he made a sound, Voldemort killed him. Now if only he could find a way to kill off the Edward Cullen character too right? I have a feeling he wouldn’t have much tolerance for him either.

Nagini’s Role As A Death Eater
Every bad guy needs a partner in crime. Sure, Voldemort had plenty of followers, but Nagini was always at his side. He trusted Nagini so much that he made her a horcrux and even had her do some of his dirty work. Since Voldemort was a parseltongue, he could easily talk to her. She probably had some pretty good dirt on him too. This meme caught Nagini spreading the word of Voldemort and possibly trying to recruit more death eaters. It looks like she isnt having much luck though. These people either arent home or are hiding on the other side of the door hoping Nagini goes away. We have all be there, right? Nagini was a faithful pet to Voldemort, its sad she had to be destroyed.
Voldemort Throws The Best Parties
There had to be something going on at those death eaters meeting besides just talking trash about Dumbledore and Harry Potter. There has to be something special that make joining up with these jerks more appealing. Could they be having awesome parties in all those abandoned places where they have meetings? They are a loud and rowdy clue, so maybe all those secret meetings are really for their secret raves? Maybe they all have a few drinks before going out to hunt down Harry. Can you imagine some of the death eaters at a party? Bellatrix dancing on tables in her high heels, Snape leaned up against a wall acting cool, Peter Pettigrew hanging out at the refreshment table stuffing his face. What a great group of friends to party with.

Cedric’s murder and the ritual
- “Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son. Flesh of the servant, willingly given, you will revive your master. Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe.”
- âPeter Pettigrew conducting the ritual to restore Voldemort
Harry and Cedric were both transported to the graveyard of Little Hangleton. Voldemort ordered Pettigrew to “kill the spare,” and Cedric was struck with the Killing Curse. To his horror Harry saw a flash of green light then heard the sound of a body hitting the graveyard’s ground. He was then restrained to Tom Riddle Snr’s grave marker so that Pettigrew could cut his arm open and take some of his blood to use in a Darkpotion to restore Voldemort to full power and strength. While taking Harry’s blood Pettigrew refused to make eye-contact, possibly feeling some reluctance regarding his actions.
The rebirth in progress, Voldemort emerging from the cauldron
Pettigrew also took a bone from the grave of Tom Riddle Snr and his own hand as part of the potion. Voldemort regained a corporeal body and therefore was returned to full power. He ordered Pettigrew to stretch out his uninjured left arm, bearing the Dark Mark. Voldemort touched it and at once Death Eaters who were loyal or evaded capture came to him at once.

Knowing that Dumbledore was sure to have seen to it that the Philosopher’s Stone was destroyed, Voldemort knew he would not be able to use the Elixir of Life to create a new body for himself. Voldemort decided to attempt an old piece of ritualistic Dark Magic to create a potion that would restore him to a body. He made plans to travel to England in order to obtain two of the three key ingredients: a bone from his father and the blood of his most hated enemy, Harry Potter. The third ingredient, the flesh of a servant willingly given, he would obtain from Wormtail himself.
