Will Fantastic Beasts 3 Have A Sequel
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will not be the last story in the series, as there will be at least two more movies in the franchise. Rowling announced in 2016 that the Fantastic Beasts series would consist of five films so there’s definitely plenty more for fans to look forward to after this one. Of course, we don’t know what those movies will be about yet but rest assured that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Newt Scamander even after Fantastic Beasts 3.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1
Marking the beginning of the end for Potter fans, 2010s emotional penultimate film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1depicts the valiant efforts of Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they finish Dumbledores work and race against time to find and destroy the secret to Lord Voldemorts power and immortality: the Horcruxes. The installment of the franchise is heart-wrenching and foreboding, as audiences witness the immeasurable sacrifices the young wizards have selflessly made to ensure the legacy of Hogwarts remains intact director David Yates described the film as quite real, a road movie thats almost like a vérité documentary. Over 500 hundred wands were used during production, and it is also the first time in the series that Hogwarts is not featured, apart from a brief final scene of Hogwarts Lake.

The Upcoming Harry Potter Retrospective
To celebrate 20 years since the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, a reunion special will air on January 1, 2022 on HBO Max. The special, titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts, will feature nearly the entire film franchises ensemble cast reminiscing on their time starring in the films. A first-look at the special showed Daniel, Rupert, and Emma together again in the Gryffindor common room. J.K., who recently came , is not scheduled to appear in the anniversary special, but will reportedly be featured in some capacity via archival footage.

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child first hit the stage of Londons Palace Theatre in June 2016.

Daniel Radcliffe Gives Next Harry Potter Movie Update
Daniel Radcliffe has shared his feelings about starring in an adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Although Daniel Radcliffe was reunited with hisco-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint during the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwartsspecial, it doesn’t sound like he’s too interested in returning to star in any further films set in the Wizarding World anytime soon.
Despite rumors swirling late last year about a possible adaptation of the play, Radcliffe told The New York Times that a Cursed Child movie was “not something I’m really interested in doing right now”.
“This isn’t the answer that anybody’s going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy it because it’s not a part of my day-to-day life anymore”, he said, continuing: “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter okay and I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life.
“I’m never going to say never, but the Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, it’s only been 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now”, he added.
The play is set 19 years after the final Harry Potter book and focuses on a grown-up Harry working at the Ministry of Magic and his son who has just begun classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Director Chris Columbus stepped away from directing duties for the third installment of the series, passing the torch to the great director Alfonso Cuarón for 2004s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry Potter & The Cursed Child’s Release Date Is Unconfirmed
Since nothing has been confirmed by either Warner Bros. or JK Rowling, there is no way to predict when a new Harry Potter movie or TV show might be released. However, an adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is not entirely out of the question. The Potter Universe has struggled lately with the Fantastic Beasts franchise, but bringing back Watson, Radcliffe, and Grint could tempt fans into giving new Potter content a chance. Whether or not Chris Columbus can live out his fantasy by making Harry Potter and the Cursed Child or some other new content, the idea hinges entirely on whether the original HP trio wants to make a return and that won’t happen any time soon.

What Is Fantastic Beasts 3’s Release Date
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is currently set to premiere in the United States on April 15, 2022. The movie will be coming out a bit earlier in the UK, arriving in theaters on April 8, 2022. And for those of you who prefer watching movies at home, the film is also set to arrive on HBO Max 45 days after its theatrical premiere.
The threequel was originally set to be released on November 12, 2021. However, due to casting changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, the premiere was first pushed to July 15, 2022, and then brought up to the current date.

Would The Harry Potter Cast Return
While recasting the beloved original cast of the Harry Potter franchise would prove a challenging endeavor, the studio might have to for story continuity. The characters are considerably older in the play Harry, Ron, and Hermione are in their late 30s when the play takes place. The original three actors of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are all in their early 30s, still a bit too young to convincingly be just a stone’s throw away from 40. However, should the studio decide to adapt Harry Potter and the Cursed Child sometime in the future, they need only wait a few years for their original trio to fit the roles.

Another thing to consider is how Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was originally cast, which had caused inevitable controversy back in 2016: Hermione Grangers role was cast with a Black actress, which Rowling defended by saying that Hermiones skin color had never been described in detail in the novels. Perhaps Rowling was asserting that anyone could play Hermione so long as she embodied the essence of the character, but if the studio decides to recast the main trio, they should lean into fully recasting every role.
Harry Potter Reunion Cast
Most of the expected major names in the Potterverse are coming back for the Harry Potter reunion, starting with the core trio of Radcliffe, Grint and Watson. Notable by his absence is actor Michael Gambon, the second actor to portray Albus Dumbledore after Harris’ death. Gambon has been dealing with memory loss.

Daniel Radcliffe Won’t Make A Cursed Child Movie Yet
Daniel Radcliffe won’t be returning for Harry Potter & The Cursed Child. Out of the entire cast, Radcliffe has been the most adamant about the fact that he’s not ready to jump back into his titular role yet. It’s understandable, given that Harry Potter‘s the Boy Who Lived had a slow start with his career outside of Harry Potter and has only just begun to shed the persona as a whole. The idea was brought up to the actor during an interview with The New York Times. Radcliffe went on to say, “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter okay, and I’m really happy with where I am now,”. He then went on to compare his role to that of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Harrison Ford as Han Solo, basically saying that they were allowed at least 30 years before returning to their defining parts. This should at least give hope to audiences that while Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t want to make another Harry Potter movie any time soon, he could still be open to it in future.
