While the trailer didnt give too much information about what the game would be like, the official website does. The game will be set in the 1800s, and your journey will start as a student at Hogwarts.
Youll learn about various subjects from the world, including Potions and Magical Creatures. In your downtime, youll be able to meet new friends, which could lead to a multiplayer aspect, although we doubt it.
The entire game wont be in the halls of Hogwarts though – the open-world adventure will take you to new areas across the Wizarding World as you go on a journey to use your ancient magic and determine the fate of the world!

What Is The Hogwarts Legacy Story
Avalanche Software and Portkey Games say that Hogwarts Legacy follows the wizarding world lore set out in the original Harry Potter novels but is an original story from the studio, not written by J.K. Rowling.
You’ll play as a student attending Hogwarts in the late 1800s, attending classes and learning magic alongside other students. “You have received a late acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are no ordinary student: you possess an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic,” the studio says. “Only you can decide if you will protect this secret for the good of all, or yield to the temptation of more sinister magic.”
Which Locations Are In Hogwarts Legacy
There may not be familiar faces in Hogwarts Legacy due to the time period it’s set in, but it looks like we can definitely expect some standard places. Avalanche say that it’s an open world game, so there will likely be plenty of exploring to do in and out of the castle.
Hogwarts CastleIt should come as no surprise that we’ll be spending a lot of time in Hogwarts Castle itself as students. In the reveal trailer we got a good look at the expansive great hall and a look at the exterior we know so well too.
HogsmeadeThe nearby village of Hogsmeade shows up in the first trailer too, so we can likely expect to wind down after classes in some of the local shops.
Forbidden ForestAlso from the trailer we can spot a venture into the Forbidden Forest where a student is fighting against those unknown evil wizards of Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy Story And Setting
The game takes place around the late 1800s at Hogwarts, though Warner Bros. revealed that we’ll be visiting both new and old locations. Players take on the role of a student who has the ability to perceive Ancient Magic and holds the key to a secret that can “tear the wizarding world apart.” With choice playing a major role in the game, players can decide whether they want to protect this secret or use it for evil.
The trailer teased that there’s a much larger world outside of Hogwarts, and we briefly saw Hogsmeade, meaning we’ll be taking some trips to the village outside of the school grounds. We’ll also be able to explore parts of the Forbidden Forest. Thankfully Aragog and his offspring haven’t been born yet, but I’m sure there will be plenty of threats that await. The Forbidden Forest has been known to home thestrals, werewolves, unicorns, centaurs, and many more species.
Avalanche, the developer behind Hogwarts Legacy, ensures that this is a wholly original story. Because it is set before the books take place, we will not be seeing many of the characters we’re familiar with. Dumbledore attended Hogwarts in the late 1800s, though, so there’s a small chance he could appear depending on what year this game takes place.
Does Hogwarts Legacy Have Multiplayer
Multiplayer has not been announced for Hogwarts Legacy.
As of writing, multiplayer has not been confirmed for Hogwarts Legacy meaning its purely single-player.
The games website simply describes the title as an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books.

It is set in the 1800s meaning there will be familiar elements as well as ones that are unfamiliar. This is great as it allows the developers at Avalanche to respect the source material while not being handcuffed by it.
In addition to being open-world, the games website also says that youll be able to customise your own character, invest in upgrades, and become the wizard you want to be.
The desire for multiplayer is easy to understand as being able to run around Hogwarts with a mate causing mischief and mayhem would be a lot of fun.
However, multiplayer has not been announced and the game certainly sounds like a single-player only experience.

Hogwarts Legacy Is Jk Rowling Involved
J.K. Rowling has been spewing transphobic comments online for several months now, going so far as to write an entire book that’s based on a harmful â and flat-out wrong â transphobic stereotype. Because of this, many fans of Harry Potter have distanced themselves from the series and go out of their way to buy Harry Potter-themed items that don’t support her or line her wallets. It’s an evolving conversation in the community.
When Hogwarts Legacy was announced, many wondered whether J.K. Rowling was attached to the project in any way. The short answer is no. The long answer is complicated.
Per WB Games:
J.K. Rowling is not directly involved in the creation of the game, however, her extraordinary body of writing is the foundation of all projects in the Wizarding World.
This is not a new story from J.K. Rowling.
That doesn’t mean she won’t make money off of it, though. The Harry Potter IP is ostensibly hers, and it was licensed out in partnership with Warner Bros. It’s almost certain that she’ll make some sort of royalties from the game if she wasn’t paid upfront to begin with.
At the end of the day, it’s your decision where you put your money. While J.K. Rowling is intrinsically tied to the universe, the world of Harry Potter and its influence is so much bigger than her. There’s no right or wrong answer on what to do here.

Who Will Be In The Harrypotter Special On Hbo Max
Fans can look forward to seeing Radcliffe, Grint and Watson reflect on their rolesbut their three central characters arent the only ones heading back to Hogwarts. According to that teaser, other returning stars include Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch and Ian Hart.
After the special was announced, Watson took to Instagram to share throwback photos of herself with Grint and Radcliffe, writing in part, Harry Potter was my home, my family, my world and Hermione my favorite fictional character of all time.
I am proud not just of what we as group contributed as actors to the franchise but also as the children that became young adults that walked that path, she continued. I look at my fellow cast members now and I am just so proud of who everyone has become as people. I am proud we were kind to each other, that we supported one another and that we held up something meaningful.
As for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, fans can expect appearances not just from franchise alums like Felton, Simon Fisher-Becker, Shirley Henderson and Luke Youngblood, but also from star superfans Pete Davidson and Jay Leno.

Is The Hogwarts Legacy A Next
The official website for Hogwarts Legacy confirms that the game will come to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The next-gen versions that were leaked in the aforementioned Bloomberg report confirm that the game is in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X, and it sounds like the game will be exclusive to next-gen consoles.
There seem to be no plans for Nintendo Switch or Google Stadia versions of the game.
When Is The Harrypotter Special On Hbo Max
Even in 2022, youre still a wizard, Harry! Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will hit HBO Max at midnight on Saturday, Jan. 1.
An exclusive first look at the special will be included in the premiere of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, a bracket-style game show hosted by Helen Mirren, airing Sunday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TBS and Cartoon Network.
That four-part Harry Potter-themed event, which features fans competing over a Tournament of Houses championship trophy, will then also be available for streaming on HBO Max starting Jan. 1. Subsequently, the reunion special will later air on TBS and Cartoon Network in spring 2022 prior to the release of the Harry Potter franchises third spinoff movie, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

Here’s What We Know About Character Creation
So far, we know that we’ll be able to make our own Hogwarts student in legacy, but we haven’t gotten a look specifically at character creation yet.
According to a Bloomberg report in 2021, Hogwarts Legacy will let you choose a masculine or feminine voice, body type, and dorm placement as “witch” or “wizard” independently when creating a student.
“Some members of the Hogwarts Legacy development team have fought to make the game as inclusive as possible, pushing for the character customization and even for a transgender character to be added,” Bloomberg says. “There was resistance from management at first, the people familiar with the project said, but currently the character customization is included in the game.”
Hogwarts Legacy Release Date Possibly Hinted At
Hogwarts Legacy, the new Harry Potter game scheduled to release next year via the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. When in 2022, WB Games hasn’t said, but it looks like it may be no sooner than May 1. During a recent interview, Warner Bros. general manager Rachel Wakley seem to suggest the new game will be the franchise’s second major release of 2022, following the next Fantastic Beasts film, which is scheduled to release in April.
“We have two major releases a film and a game, that will be sure to generate incredible excitement amongst fans,” said Wakley. “The first is the film release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, now announced to be releasing on the 8th of April in the UK. The third instalment is sure to be a real fan favorite. The second major release of 2022 will be a new console game: Hogwarts Legacy. The reaction to the trailer for this has been amazing and it looks set to be a huge success. We know that gaming is such an important part of the market and one that we have to be involved in. From what we’ve seen, the launch will be well worth the wait and will deliver a unique way for fans to interact with the franchise.”
Right now, the language is vague enough here that this conclusion should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, if any of the implicated parties provide any type of update to the situation with any type of comment, we will be sure to update the story accordingly.

Is Jk Rowling Involved With The Development Of Hogwarts Legacy
The author of the Harry Potter book series, J.K. Rowling, is involved with many projects set within the series’ world, including the ongoing expansion of the universe via Pottermore and the Fantastic Beasts films. In June 2020, Rowling made public criticizing transgender people, and this angered many fans of the series. Harry Potter actors like Daniel Radcliffe have even spoken out against Rowling’s comments, and her involvement with the game appears to be a dealbreaker for some .
Bloomberg’s report does confirm that “she continues to play a role in most projects associated with the Harry Potter brand, and the game is no exception” but that “Rowling has very little direct involvement” in the game. Some developers at Avalanche Software are reportedly “rattled” by Rowling’s comments.

According to a leaker, the long-awaited Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer remaster has been canceled and wont be following in the footsteps of CoD 4 Remastered.
It was back in 2016 that Raven Software faithfully remastered the historic FPS title Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It featured a spruced up, shinier-looking campaign, and a full recreation of the games groundbreaking multiplayer component.
Modern Warfare 2 had its campaign remastered in 2020, and it was expected that the online portion of the game would also be getting similar treatment.

Is There A Trailer For Hogwarts Legacy
Yes! The game was finally revealed with a cinematic trailer during September 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase. You can check it out for yourself below.
From the trailer, we can see that despite taking place in the late 1800s, many Hogwarts traditions are still present. For example, owls still seem to play a large role at Hogwarts. As do the haunted decor items.
We can also see Hippogriffs in the trailer, as the narrator mentions the world outside Hogwarts. Perhaps you can travel the land using flying creatures like Hippogriffs?
We also get a look at a masked person in a few shots. Like all masked people, they appear rather fearsome. Perhaps this person is the game’s villain?
