Protector Of The Small

How Many Harry Potter Books Are There

If you’re above a certain age and grew up loving fantasy, then chances are you’re at least familiar with Tamora Pierce, though her name doesn’t get passed around much with the newer generation of readers much anymore. While I would recommend any of her books to a reader looking for a fantasy fix, the series I would most recommend to readers looking for that Harry Potter vibe is Protector of the Small.

The series follows Keladry, the first girl in the kingdom to train as a knight. The first two books especially have that fantasy academic setting, if anyone was ever curious about what it’s like to balance math and history homework with dueling class.

Check out the Protector of the Small;series.;

Amari And The Night Brothers

After her brother goes missing, Amari discovers secrets within his closet that lead her to investigate what happened to him. Before he went missing, he entered Amari in a contest at the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs. Amari has to compete against kids with powers to win the competition and possibly find her brother.

Amari and the Nightbrothers draw some similarities to Harry Potter all while being a unique story. This story is more heavily focused on a mystery, but there’s plenty of supernatural creatures like mermaids and magicians, which makes the world feel similar to the Wizarding World. There’s also a;powerful villain similar to Lord Voldemort who’s threatening to destroy the world.

R.K. Rowling you should really make a movie for the Cursed Child book. Also you should do a whole series on their kids cause people were really interested in the Cursed Child. Also the reason why you should do a movie is because there is already a script written out and your letting many Harry Potter fans down including myself. Sincerely Rylan Strongp.s: please think about this and please a movie on the cursed child. How The Harry Potter Books Compare To The Movies

If you’ve only seen the movies and are hoping to dive into the Harry Potter books next, you may be surprised to see some differences. These changes aren’t massive in the grand scheme of things, and they mostly revolve around exposition or daily life in Hogwarts. For instance, the creators of the Marauder’s Map get a lot more coverage in the Prisoner of Azkaban novel. Minor characters and subplots are left out of the films, too – Peeves the Poltergeist is a good example.

They provide a fuller picture than you can fit into a standard two-hour runtime

While these details aren’t essential to the story, they give the novels more depth. They provide a fuller picture than you can fit into a standard two-hour runtime, too.

    The exception would be The Deathly Hallows. On film, certain characters are killed off while they survive in the book. It’s not a game-changer but is notable nonetheless; the movie version is far more brutal and detailed than its written counterpart.;

    Harry Potter Book Series

From the opening line of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone through the poignant end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, few book series are as gripping as J.K. Rowling’s. Decades after the tales of “the boy who lived” were first published, these books continue to enchant and inspire readers of all ages. This list includes all of Rowling’s magical novels, as well as a few bonus books she wrote for Harry’s biggest fans and a play she co-wrote with two others. 15 Strange Things That Were Cut From The Harry Potter Books

While not part of the original seven-book series, Cursed Child and the accompanying stage play have become a generally accepted addition to the Harry Potter canon. This 336-page text picks up where the Deathly Hallows epilogue left off, with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Malfoy sending their unfortunately named kids off to Hogwarts Harrys son Albus and Malfoys son Scorpius serve as our protagonists this time around. Upon arrival at Hogwarts, the boys are both sorted into Slytherin and forge an unlikely friendship, which naturally causes tension between Albus and Harry over the next few years.

After a fight with his father, Albus overhears Cedric Diggorys father Amos asking Harry to use a more powerful version of a Time Turner to go back in time and rescue his son. When Harry refuses, Albus enlists Scorpius to help him save Cedric, with the aid of Diggorys niece Delphi. However, as anyone whos seen Back to the Future can attest, messing with timelines is never a good idea especially in the wizarding world. Things are further complicated by the fact that Delphi is not who she says she is, and may have sinister ulterior motives when it comes to rewriting history.

Top 13 Book Series To Read Instead Of Harry Potter

The Harry Potter series was credited with getting a lot of reluctant readers to enjoy books, and the importance of that cannot be overstated.

However, now that most young readers are already familiar with the adventures of Harry and his friends, I suggest the following series for readers of all ages looking for something similar in tone or who are just looking for a new world to fall in love with.

How Many Words Are The Harry Potter Books

WORD COUNTS OF THE BOOKS IN J.K. ROWLINGS HARRY POTTER SERIES:

    • Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone 76,944 words
    • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 85,141 words
    • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 107,253 words
    • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 190,637 words
    • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 257,045 words
    • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 168,923 words
    • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 198,227 words
    • The Total Harry Potter series 1,084,170 words

The term count becomes progressively more for books 1 to 5. In a meeting with the Harry Potter fansite The Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet back in 2005, J.K. Rowling herself confessed that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix were too long. Nevertheless, in defense of its span, she contested anybody to locate the obvious place to reduce.

The very first book Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone would be the shortest in the sequence. So even though the term count falls towards the ending, the previous two books are still longer than J.K. Rowlings first few functions.

    Star Wars: The High Republic

The High Republic, Lucasfilm’s publishing initiative, is extremely wide-ranging, spanning books for all ages, comics, audio dramas, and manga. While a completionist like me will tell you to go and read all of it, that’s not always possible, especially for younger readers. Fortunately, as of right now, each series within the initiative middle grade, young adult, etc. holds up fairly well as a series on its own.

So for those ready to make the leap from Harry Potter to Star Wars publishing, look no further than the middle grade and YA books within the High Republic. Each of the stories focuses on teenage characters balancing their training and the realities of growing up with huge galaxy-shaping events that threaten to upend everything they know. And with a wide range of characters from a handful of writers, there is a guaranteed favorite for every reader, no matter their personalities.

The Harry Potter book series was adapted into eight movies. Each movie depicts the events described in one book, except for the last one. The last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was depicted throughout two movies.

    Besides the original book series, there is the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which was written as a drama, and the Fantastic Beasts franchise, which depicts the events leading up to the legendary duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Currently, there are only two movies with the third one on the way, but the original contract was signed for five movies.;

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: The Original Screenplay

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Draft is an official book that contains J. K. Rowlings original script for the film of the same name.

On September 1, 2016, Pottermore unveiled the final covers for the screenplays UK and US versions.

Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the designers of MinaLima, designed the cover artwork and inner illustrations.

The book does not include Rowlings original version but has been edited to correspond with the films final theatrical cut.

As a result, it has no deleted or expanded scenes and has been revised to include ad-libbed or edited dialogue.

Gellert Grindelwald arrives at a run-down chateau and kills five Aurors.

He strides by their bodies, his gaze fixed on the night sky. In 1926, a montage of newspaper articles from around the world depicts Grindelwalds many cases of abuse.

Grindelwald is being sought all over the world. The last essay depicts the Statue of Liberty. Newt Scamander is perched on a bench on a submarine as it sails past the Statue of Liberty.

    An Ember In The Ashes

Sabaa Tahir’s Ember in the Ashes series ideal for older YA readers doesn’t have much in common with Harry Potter, it’s true. But it scratches the itch for those who grew up with stories about teenagers saving the world, fighting the system both from within and without, and how that system can sometimes break you to the point where you don’t even know what it is that you’re fighting or for whom.

The trio of main characters Laia, Elias, and Helene are also exceptionally well fleshed out and never quite land on the same side of anything, keeping each perspective fresh and exciting.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban

The third book in the series introduces Sirius Black, a deranged mass murderer whos just escaped from the wizard prison of Azkaban. As a result, swarms of Dementors dark, faceless beings that suck the soul out of their victims and serve as the guards of Azkaban infiltrate Hogwarts to patrol for Black, whos supposedly after Harry next. To make matters worse, our normally steadfast hero has a bad reaction to the Dementors, which cause him to faint on a train and even lose a critical Quidditch match.

Again, though, its not all doom and gloom. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban also features Professor Remus Lupin, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and a school friend of Harrys late father. Lupin and Harry quickly forge a father-son-like relationship themselves, and Lupin teaches Harry the Patronus Charm to protect himself from Dementors.

Meanwhile, Ron and Hermione are squabbling even more than usual over their respective pets, Crookshanks the cat and Scabbers the rat. But what seems like a lighthearted subplot turns out to be a major factor in one of the biggest twists of the series, revealed in the last few chapters and which naturally involves Black and Lupin as well. Oh, and hippogriffs and time traveling, in case that wasnt enough to sell you on it.

Book : Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

Something of a controversial choice for this high on the list I would argue, however, that the Order of the Phoenix deserves the bronze medal for best Harry Potter book. It is by far the darkest book, with Harry dealing with some very not child-book aimed demons.

Although it is the longest book in terms of pages, its isnt brimming with action, instead focusing more of its time on developing the characters into grown, individually minded young people.

It also has one of the most epic moments out of all the books that being the duel between Voldemort and Dumbledore. Its really the only time we ever see a high level, top tier Wizard duel in the entire series, so thats pretty cool. We couldve probably done without Harrys highly awkward relationship with Cho, but who hasnt had a cringeworthy relationship or two?

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald The Original Screenplay

The cover was planned to match the theme of the second film, with the Eiffel Tower portraying the films main location, Paris.

In line with the first films continuation, a Niffler and Bowtruckle emerge.

The Deathly Hallows symbol represents Gellert Grindelwald, and the significance of a locket with the letters NF, a piece of jewelry, and a skull is unknown.

The initials NF could stand for Nicolas Flamel. In the end, theres even what seems to be Grindelwalds skull-hookah.
