If you cant stay at a Universal property or book a partner hotel vacation package, plan on getting to Universal Orlando early and staying late. Given the cozy nature of its shops and attractions, it doesnt take very many people for Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley to start to feel pretty packed. To beat the crowds, its best to go to the parks during the non-peak times, which are first thing in the morning and just before closing .
Its possible that, on a very busy day, both morning and evening will still be crowded, but these remain the optimal times on a day like this, midday would be very crowded, and the lands might even close for capacity.
Keep in mind that we strongly recommend to plan on going first thing in the morning and again late in the evening The Wizarding World of Harry Potter lights up at night, and its spectacular.

Shutterbuttons Photography Studio Session
Part of the package includes a reservation at the Shutterbutton Photography Studio located in Diagon Ally in Universal Studios Florida.
This session was SO fun for my Harry Potter loving daughters. We were able to act out scenes from the movies in front of a green screen so watching the final product was a fun surprise! The package includes a DVD of the live-action shots as well as 1 print out photo of your choosing and the digital download of that photo. Additional photos may be purchased for $25 each.
The experience is super, super fun and engaging on its own but getting to watch the DVD at home makes it even more special!
The session time can be arranged when making your vacation reservation. Not able to make it at your time? You can ask at the desk at the Shutterbutton location and they can usually work you in at another time that works better for your schedule.
Upon arrival at your resort stay, you will be given a separate ticket for this experience and must present the ticket at check in to your photo session.

The Hogwarts Express experience links the two parks, and youll have to spring for the pricier park-to-park ticket to ride it and visit both Harry Potter parks on the same day which youll probably want to do even if youre on a multi-day visit.

Review Of The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Vacation Package At Universal Orlando
When booking our Universal trip, I decided to add the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Vacation Package onto our travel plans.
I did NOT choose to stay for the full five nights and the team member I spoke with was able to adjust the package for a two night stay. In doing so, we did give up one of the free breakfast meal vouchers in the package .
I felt the Harry Potter Package was a good value for the type of vacation I was wanting to experience. When I broke down the cost per person the addition of the vacation packages made sense!
My daughters LOVE Harry Potter and I was wanting this trip to be very special for them.
They LOVE the themed keepsake box and the photo session was a highlight of our trip. We have a Nixplay digital photo frame and plan on putting in our oldest daughters room when she converts it to a Harry Potter theme to showcase the photos from our trip.

We are trying to plan a trip as a last trip with the three of us. We have been looking at the Harry Potter package from Universal Studios. Is this a good deal? Is it worth it?

What exactly does it include??
Tell us what it is, the only thing I see on the web site is a Harry Potter Package deal for Florida Residents? Is that it? Are you a Florida resident?
It always leaves Iooked to me like it just added breakfast at the 2 HP restaurants and photos. For us, those aren’t worth it. In general, Universal packages save no $ and can come with higher fees should you need to alter your booking by compared with doing everything separately.

I agree with bchbetha. You can easily do all or specifically only the ones you want to do by arranging individually and at a significant savings. No need to purchase as a package.

Smile For Your Own Camera
When it comes to the option of buying a My Universal Photos card, I highly recommend skipping it. We included the three-day photo pass in our Universal package for $89.99, which seemed like a good deal compared to the one-day price tag of $69.99. Heres the issue: there are few, if any, Universal photographers to take your picture in the WWHP. We admittedly didnt search for them, but I dont recall seeing a single photographer inside either of the WWHP parks during our visit. The reason is because of Universals number one goal of making you feel like youre in Harry Potters world, not visiting a theme park. Our server at a Universal restaurant on CityWalk enlightened us that employees are banned from wearing their work uniforms inside the Wizarding Worlds, specifically to preserve the integrity of the experience. The photo card does include pictures from rides, but thats not a big deal on Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts as pictures there are taken while you weave your way through the line. By the end of our three days, I think we had about ten pictures on our photo card, and all of our best shots from the WWHP were on our own camera phones. Even with an 8×10 and 5×7 print included in the photo package, it didnt even come close to making financial sense for us.

Cutting Down Line Time
While Universal packages at all on-site hotels will get you into the WWHP early, not all of them include the perk that cuts down on wait times for rides. The Universal Express Unlimited Pass lets you skip the regular line at select attractions . The added benefit is thrown in for guests at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort. It doesnt apply if you choose to stay at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort or Cabana Bay Beach Resort. If you only plan to visit WWHP, it wont matter as there are no express line options at the three top attractions Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios Florida and the Hogwarts Express train ride that takes you between the two parks. But we did take time out each day to hit some of the other rides at both parks like Skull Island: Reign of Kong and the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster. Those were our two favorite rides outside of the WWHP and the Unlimited Express Pass saved us valuable time at both.
