Did you think we would need to build everything at Hogwarts? Absolutely not. We will need to attend Hogsmeade to acquire a multitude of supplies that are required for missions. This should include everything from potions ingredients to recipes and seeds for magical plants. We’ll also be able to customize the clothing and gear our character wears by shopping at various stores in Hogsmeade. As such, I think the in-game challenges will also reward currency that can be used within the town of Hogsmeade.
But everything isn’t perfect in Hogsmeade, as dark wizards are roaming the village outskirts, and they must be avoided or defeated to leave the surrounding regions. This will create an unexpected dynamic within Hogsmeade. But you won’t always need to acquire these supplies in Hogsmeade, as there are vendors located throughout the open-world environment.

When Is It Coming Out And On Which Platforms
When Warner Bros. Games announced the delay of Hogwarts Legacy no release window was shared, but this has been gradually opening up. Both the official website and company statements pointed to 2022. Now, after the State of Play, we know that the game will be released at the end of 2022.
WB Avalanche production is still planned for all platforms on which it was originally announced: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. Furthermore, by surprise, it has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch. At this time it is still unknown whether it will be a Cloud Edition or a native version.
The game has been in development for years, but was first shown during the PlayStation 5 launch event. It was originally expected to be released in 2021, but the studio released a statement saying they needed more time: âwe would like to thank fans around the world for the phenomenal response to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy by our label Portkey Games. Creating the best possible experience for the entire wizarding world and gaming fans is paramount to us, so weâre going to give the game the time it needs.â
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore
The third, and possibly final installment in the Fantastic Beasts series, The Secrets of Dumbledore is set to tentative release on 15 April 2022, in the United States and 8 April 2022 in the United Kingdom. Directed by David Yates and based on a screenplay by Steve Kloves and Rowling herself, The Secrets of Dumbledore is set several years after the events of The Crimes of Grindelwald, following up on Dumbledore tasking Newt Scamander and his allies with a mission that situates them right at the heart of dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwalds army. Most importantly, this film will also be delving deeper into the ancestry of Credence Barebone, who is revealed to be Aurelius Dumbledore, Dumbledores long-lost brother at the end of the second installment. Also, it is only a matter of time before viewers find out if the many temporal inconsistencies created by the franchise will be finally resolved.

Hogwarts Legacy: Storyline And Setting
While the trailer didnt give too much information about what the game would be like, the official website does. The game will be set in the 1800s, and your journey will start as a student at Hogwarts.
Youll learn about various subjects from the world, including Potions and Magical Creatures. In your downtime, youll be able to meet new friends, which could lead to a multiplayer aspect, although we doubt it.
The entire game wont be in the halls of Hogwarts though – the open-world adventure will take you to new areas across the Wizarding World as you go on a journey to use your ancient magic and determine the fate of the world!

Will Harry Potter Feature In Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is set in the late 1800s, and Harry Potter was born on July 31, 1980, so dont expect to be rubbing shoulders with the Boy Who Lived as you walk the halls of Hogwarts. That also means his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are out of the picture as well.
Of course, time travel does exist in the Harry Potter universe, but the development team have answered this question with a firm no on the games own website, so dont expect any time turners to feature.
Potter may be out, but that doesn’t mean there will be no familiar faces. Gryffindor house ghost Nearly Headless Nick will be floating about the castle, among other returning spectres .
There is also a possibility that a young Albus Dumbledore could make a cameo. The timeline of Hogwarts Legacy would crossover with when he was attending school after all.

Walking around campus is one way to get around, especially when exploring campus. However, Hogwarts Legacy truly brings out the wizarding stereotype when it comes to means of travel. If you want to ride on a broomstick, you are able to do just that. In fact, you will be able to take Flying classes in order to master your broomstick abilities.
If a broomstick is not your type of speed, maybe taking a ride of a magical beast is more your speed. You heard that right. There will be ways where you can tame certain magical beast and ride on the back of them to travel around the wizarding way in a more efficient way.
What Is The Story Of Hogwarts Legacy About
As we said, the story is set in the nineteenth century, but already at that time, Hogwarts students put on the Sorting Hat to determine which house would be their Hogwarts house: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin or Hufflepuff. The protagonist has ties to ancient magic, so he will be involved in the goblin rebellion led by Ranrok. This has allied with the dark wizard Victor Rookwood, so the association represents a real threat to the magical world.
âRanrok has seen a glimmer of a magic that wizardkind tried to hide â even from themselves â and he wants that power in particular. His worldview is skewed by his hatred of wizards, which makes his alliance with Victor Rookwood particularly tenuous,â explained Moira Squier, narrative lead âOnce Ranrok gets what he wants, no one will be able to stop him and the wizarding world will be doomed.â
Unraveling the mysteries of ancient magic and putting an end to the rebellion will not be easy, but the protagonist will have the invaluable help of Professor Eleazar Fig, who has investigated the matter, even if the Ministry of Magic looks at him with reluctance. The studio has let slip that there will be other allies, including a Weasley.

Is The Main Character Harry Potter And When Is It Set
The saga created by J.K. Rowling tells the story of Harry Potter, the boy who lived. His fight against Lord Voldemort will not be reflected in Hogwarts Legacy, mainly because the narrative is set many years before the events narrated in the original books. The brand has already explored other periods in the Fantastic Beasts films, but now it will also do so in the realm of video games.
Avalanche’s title is set in the late 19th century, which means we won’t see Harry Potter, Hermione Granger or Ron Weasley. Albus Dumbledore, born in 1881, has not confirmed his presence either, but given that he is a young wizard in this timeline, there is a chance that he may appear at some point. Be that as it may, the protagonist is a Hogwarts student that we will be able to create from scratch.
“Players will experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before, as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world,” the official description reads. The player’s decisions will shape the storyline, although it is unknown how they will affect the storyline as a whole.
There Is A Ton Of Exploration
Exploring Hogwarts isnt just limited to the school itself. You are able to go beyond the walls of Hogwarts and explore the regions beyond. You will be able to explore the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade Village, and other locations beyond Hogwarts where you will be able to interact with tons of different NPCs and vendors to shop around with. This just proves that this game is going to be massive and will have a ton of different areas to explore. Something that is crucial for gamers when they look deeply into a video game.

Will Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Movie Happen
Jack Thornes two-part play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premiered on 30 July 2016, at Palace Theatre, London. The Cursed Child is set nineteen years after the events of The Deathly Hallows and follows Harry, who is now Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at The Ministry of Magic. Whether The Cursed Child will actually be adapted into a movie has not been confirmed either by Warner Bros. or Rowling herself, there is no sure-shot way to know if the movie will be released, if ever. However, this adaptation is not entirely out of the question, as director Chris Columbus, director of Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone, wishes to bring back the original trio for this fantasy project. If this were to materialize, it would be yet another reason for those wishing for another installment in the Harry Potter franchise to rejoice, given the volume of content scheduled to be released.

The great part of Hogwarts Legacy is that you can cater your magic to how you want to play the game. There are a set of upgrades, talents and skills to aid their progression as a witch or wizard. There will also be challenges and tasks to complete around the wizarding world that will allow you to level up your different abilities. There is a lot of flexibility on what paths you want to upgrade first depending on what type of playstyle that you want to use.

Hogwarts Legacy Release Date
When Hogwarts Legacy first leaked, Bloomberg reported that it would come to next-gen consoles in 2021. However, the start of the new year saw an official delay to 2022, as publisher Portkey Games confirmed more time was needed to get the game in tip-top shape.
While the game was first announced at a PS5 event, it will be coming to the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, as well as PS4 and PC. It remains unclear if the PS5 version will have any kind of timed exclusivity.
Game Setting & Story For Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy focuses on the Scottish Highlands in the 1800s, meaning the storyline of Harry Potter isnât relevant in this game. Thatâs what makes me excited though, as weâre the architects of our journey. Weâll attend Hogwarts for first-year classes and explore the Forbidden Forest while trying to reach Hogsmeade. However, things quickly change when weâre told that ancient magic runs throughout our veins. Weâll have to make story-based decisions to determine whether that archaic magic is used for good or evil, and those choices will have an effect on the students around you. This should make for an intriguing game thatâs different for nearly every player.

Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay And Setting
Hogwarts Legacy is going to be an “immersive, open-world RPG” set in the wizarding world of the 1800s – specifically Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
According to the description of the game on its official website: “Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart.” Having received a late acceptance letter for Hogwarts, the player discovers that they possess the ability to possess and master Ancient Magic. “Only you can decide if you will protect this secret for the good of all, or yield to the temptation of more sinister magic,” the description reads.
Hogwarts Legacy will see players creating and customizing their own characters, creating potions, mastering spell casting, upgrading their talents, making allies and battling Dark Wizards to “decide the fate of the wizarding world”. Players can also expect to come across fantastic beasts and visit both new and familiar locations, such as including the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village.
A morality system is also rumored to play a role in the game and the official FAQ certainly indicates that players will have to make decisions as they play, stating “players will also encounter missions and scenarios that will pose difficult choices and determine what they stand for.”
Which Locations Are In Hogwarts Legacy
There may not be familiar faces in Hogwarts Legacy due to the time period it’s set in, but it looks like we can definitely expect some standard places. Avalanche say that it’s an open world game, so there will likely be plenty of exploring to do in and out of the castle.
Hogwarts CastleIt should come as no surprise that we’ll be spending a lot of time in Hogwarts Castle itself as students. In the reveal trailer we got a good look at the expansive great hall and a look at the exterior we know so well too.
HogsmeadeThe nearby village of Hogsmeade shows up in the first trailer too, so we can likely expect to wind down after classes in some of the local shops.
Forbidden ForestAlso from the trailer we can spot a venture into the Forbidden Forest where a student is fighting against those unknown evil wizards of Hogwarts Legacy.

When Is The Hogwarts Legacy Release Window
This new Harry Potter game was initially leaked in 2018, but wasnât officially announced until 2020, when WB originally planned for a 2021 launch.
In January 2021, WB games pushed the release window back to 2022, giving the development studio more time. Itâs likely the pandemic played a role in the gameâs delay. Now, we know the game will launch during holiday 2022 at an unspecified date, as announced during the March 2022 State of play.
Weâll likely get an official release date in the summer, likely around E3 in mid-June.
