How Old Is Harry Anyway
J. K. Rowling has told us that Harry’s birthday is July 31, which happens to be her birthday, too. But what year was Harry born?
Near the beginning of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone it says that “tomorrow, Tuesday, was Harry’s eleventh birthday.” July 31 doesn’t fall on a Tuesday very often. Most readers of that first book assumed that, because it was published in 1997, Harry attended Hogwarts during the 1990s. In 1990, July 31 fell on a Tuesday. This would mean that Harry was born in 1979 and would turn 23 in 2002.
But wait?this theory is contradicted by evidence in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, in which Harry helped celebrate Nearly Headless Nick’s deathday anniversary on October 31, 1992. Harry was 12 at that time. So this would mean that Harry was born in 1980, and that he would turn 22 in 2002.
Anyway, does it matter exactly when the books take place? They are, after all, fantasy. Maybe there are contradictory dates because time doesn’t pass exactly the same way in the books’ world as it does in ours. Or maybe calendars in the land of fantasy don’t have to follow our rules!

New Years Eve and Day feature in the Wizarding World. This is not necessarily always a positive time though, as Lord Voldemort himself was born on New Years Eve and was most certainly not a reforming character!
Nonetheless, one would wonder what New Years Resolutions Wizards could have? In our world, people might make resolutions about travelling more, or doing more hobbies. In the Wizard world, resolutions could be to jinx less Muggles, or get better at potions, or something. There also might be a group resolution such as to win the House Cup. Especially by Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students who seem to be shut out somewhat in the bitter Gryffindor-Slytherin struggle.

Yet, there was a third character Dumbledore who changed significantly within each year. Whereas in the early books and films he is welcoming and protective, during the mid-series particularly in the 4th and 5th books and films, he deliberately makes a resolution to be somewhat distant from Harry, Ron and Hermione. This is because of Dumbledores desire to protect Harry by keeping certain things from him. However, he wisely reverses this strategy in the 6th year ensuring that Harry is fully versed in all he needs to know before Dumbledore meets his own date with destiny in the Astronomy Tower on the 30th June 1997.

He Plays A Major Role In The Cursed Child
Those who are still waiting to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child should look away now, as Voldemorts role in the play-turned-transcript gives away a major turning point in the story. Though many still question the legitimacy of Cursed Child, anything that is signed off by Rowling should probably be taken as Harry Potter canon.
That means that Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange did indeed have a daughter shortly before their deaths, and Delphini, raised without parents just like her father before her, resurfaces years later to torment Harry and Albus Potter. When Bellatrixs husband Rodolphus escapes from Azkaban to tell Delphini of her heritage, she poses as Amos Diggorys niece, and convinces Albus and Scorpius Malfoy to travel back to 1981 and keep Voldemort from attacking the Potters.
Like her parents, Delphini is skilled in the Dark Arts, and is the last remaining Parselmouth after Harry loses the ability. She is eventually overpowered by Harry and Albus combined, and is sent to Azkaban for her crimes.

His Jinx On The Dada Teaching Post Came From Spinal Tap
While the magic behind the Dark Mark is at least explicable, no one knows quite how Voldemort managed to jinx the Defence Against the Dark Arts job at Hogwarts. As suggested by Dumbledore, Voldemort did indeed jinx the teaching post when he was rejected for the position, but neither the books nor the author who wrote them has offered any explanation as to how.
We may not know the incantation , but we know something about where the idea came from. Older members of the audience will remember the Spinal Tap drummer, joked Rowling, referring to the semi-fictional band whose drummers had a tendency to die in varying ridiculous ways, I thought that every year well have a different teacher.
Incidentally, Professor Quirrell, who is described as having been at Hogwarts before the events of the books, was the Muggle Studies teacher in previous years, before stepping up to DADA for Harrys first year at school.

2017 Albus and Scorpius are sorted into Slytherin whilst Rose, as expected, finds herself in Gryffindor. Harry is now the Head of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, Hermione is Minister for Magic, and Ron manages Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley.
Albus forms an unexpected friendship with Scorpius, while his relationship with his father Harry takes a turn for the worse.
Albus and Scorpius steal a Time Turner with Delphi Diggory to save Cedric Diggory after he won the Triwizard Tournament an event that takes place in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
2020: Albus and Scorpius use a time turner to travel back to 1994 and prevent Cedric Diggory from completing the first round of the Triwizard Tournament. When they return, they realise they’ve created an alternate timeline in which Ron and Hermione never married and thus Rose doesn’t exist. Albus has been sorted in Gryffindor instead of Slytherin.
Albus and Scorpius return to the past again to stop Cedric completing the second task, and return to find Scorpius is now alone because in their alternate timeline, Voldemort killed Harry and won the Battle of Hogwarts .
In this alternate timeline, Cedric became a Death Eater who eventually killed Neville Longbottom, therefore Neville never killed Nagini, Voldemorts final Horcrux. Dolores Umbridge is headmistress, and Snape is still alive.
They return to 2020, as it was at the beginning of The Cursed Child.

Fantastic Beasts Will Likely End With Voldemort
1945 was a historical year for the wizarding world. Not only did Dumbledore defeat Grindelwald in one of the greatest duels known to wizard-kind, but at the same time, Tom Riddle was sitting his N.E.W.T. exams. He would graduate the same year, and his immediate destination, an Albanian forest, would become the birthplace of his very first horcrux.
The first Fantastic Beasts movie kicks off in 1926, the year Voldemort was born, and with Rowling recently confirming that the five-part series will span 19 years, the end just so happens to coincide with Voldemorts graduation and subsequent rise to power.
Rowling has also stated that Dumbledore will make an appearance of his own, while his relationship with Grindelwald will also be explored. Though the lead-up to their epic encounter will most likely take center stage as the Fantastic Beasts sequels develop, its all but confirmed that Voldemort will play something of a role come the end of the series.

How It Should Have Ended
Voldemort appeared in the episode âHow Harry Potter Should Have Endedâ, where he is defeated by Snape when he ambushes him with a gunshot from âMuggle weaponsâ. Afterwards, he would become a recurring character for the âVillain Pubâ segments, usually joined by Loki Laufeyson, the Joker, and Emperor Palpatine. He is often the most emotionally vulnerable of the quartet, although his misgivings are not often misplaced.

In case you need reminding why, that’s because it’s the fictional wizard’s birthday.
In J.K. Rowling’s fantasy world Harry was born on July 31 and would be turning 41 today.
But how do we know his age? Well, his date and year of birth are spelled out clearly in J.K. Rowling’s very first book ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’.
The 223-page book was published in 1997 but set in 1991, and during that year the young wizard turns 11.
It’s a memorable moment in the novel as it is when Harry, who is living in the unloving household of his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, meets half-giant Hagrid who goes on to reveal his true identity.
Harry shares the same birthday as Rowling, who was born in 1965 and turns 56 today. And, in an unlikely coincidence, Richard Griffiths who played Harry’s uncle, was born on July 31, 1947.
Griffiths sadly died at the age of 65 in 2013 following complications with heart surgery.
In real life, Daniel Radcliffe is 32 and has changed a lot since his last on-screen appearance as Harry in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 movie, released in 2011. His co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are 31 and 32 years old respectively.
Since the Harry Potter film series drew to a close, Radcliffe has stayed firmly in the TV and film industry.

Radcliffe was born on July 23, 1989. His age in the Harry Potter movies was similar in age to his wizard character toward the earlier films. His character attended the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the American equivalent of middle and high school.
In the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone , Radcliffe was 12 years old. His character was 11 years old at the time. In December 2005, Rowling stated on her web site, “2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series.” Updates then followed in her online diary chronicling the progress of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with the release date of 21 July 2007. The book itself was finished on 11 January 2007 in the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, where she scrawled a message on the back of a bust of Hermes. It read: “J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room on 11 January 2007.”
Rowling herself has stated that the last chapter of the final book was completed “in something like 1990”. In June 2006, Rowling, on an appearance on the British talk show Richard & Judy, announced that the chapter had been modified as one character “got a reprieve” and two others who previously survived the story had in fact been killed. On 28 March 2007, the cover art for the Bloomsbury Adult and Child versions and the Scholastic version were released.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Real
Deathly Hallows broke sales records upon its publication, outperforming previous games in the Harry Potter franchise. This is the darkest movie, well, movies. Death, growing up, being alone, and isolated are motifs that perfectly capture the ages of the characters.
The novel was mostly well-received by reviewers, and it won the Colorado Blue Spruce Book Award in 2008, as well as the American Library Associations Best Book for Young Adults award due to the fact it being more popular among teenagers because of the ages of the characters.
